I brought this unused Loki concept to life!!

I’d been eyeing this stunning design by @aleksibriclot for years, and a little while ago (after two years of working on it) I finally finished it! It has all the dark norse fantasy vibes that I wanted Ragnarok to be, and I figured hey, I can make it myself!

I had to up a lot of my leatherworking skills for this one, and I dove into a lot of new skills as well to try to make all the pieces a cohesive whole. It uses lambskin leather, suede cowhide, and veg tan, as well as an entire sheepskin for the cape!

This whole costume has truly been a labour of Loki love and I’m so glad I was able to share all the madness (process) and the finished look!

He smiled more easily now in spite of the frigid conditions.  “Tip-top this time, too?” he asked, pleased when she snorted. “Looks like.” She stepped back to glance around it, craning her neck. “Do you think there’s a way to activate something, or—?” “Maybe?” He jostled his shoulders. “I could just fly us up.” “You could,” she acknowledged with a fond eye roll, “but we want to make sure there’s somewhere to land once we get all the way up there. Magic can be tricky sometimes. There might not be a platform to land on without the right spell, or at least not one we can recognize because of illusions, or something.”  “I guess.” He surveyed it, sticking his tongue in his cheek rather than out between his lips because of the cold. Then he noticed Rayla trying not to laugh at him. “What?” “Just a familiar face,” she said. “The I’m-trying-to-think-of-a-dumb-idea face.” “You might change your tune when it gets us up there.” And she might’ve—if two figures hadn’t dropped down from the dark sky out of nowhere. Rayla whipped out a blade as her and Callum leapt back, putting distance between them and the stem of the Starscraper.

The other side of the spectrum where everyone is blasian is like, fine, but sometimes I just wonder if this is like some ppl in ATLA not realizing everyone from the earth kingdom is coded as Chinese/the world has no white ppl/the Legos are not blank slates

Like I dunno! White washing bad, but I recall back in the Day when, and this is primarily about white artists trying to be Good People within fandom, when the darker a skin tone the better with no further questions asked.
