I'm sure you may have seen a lot of "how to inoculate yourself against climate disinformation" posts, but we're experiencing a huge amount of content paid for by Fossil Fuel Interest's to put pressure on the internet. And it's been really concentrated for a few months.
The funding is pushing for a cultural shift for people who are undecided in the climate conversation and are possibly more easily swayed. And it's important to remember, fossil fuel interests wouldn't pay for it if they didn't need it.
Most of the disinfo looks like "yeah climate change is real but we can't possibly do anything to fix it" or "these solutions simply don't work." about solutions that are tried and true. They look a lot like nuanced takes, but specifically are trying to motivate inaction.
So if you wake up today and ask "what can I do today that makes a difference?" is honestly post a lot to tip the scales regarding the presentation climate solutions. Silly or serious, for example posting about renewables getting you excited, community food forests that are feeding people, cool solutions to targeting methane, etc. Post about a climate book or show you liked, or whatever. Just make sure it's clear to an onlooker that there are people who believe climate change is anthropogenic, it was mostly caused by extractive practices and fossil fuel use, and that we can still demand rapid action to fix it. And all of this is true, because the science supports it.

I'm so excited for Earth Day I'm presenting about the environment and different climate heroes for an elementary school class and it's gonna be so so so so fun but I'm most excited that I'm gonna be presenting it more of a "make sure you reach out to the adults working on it, make sure you're not alone, and we'll work on it together!" Instead of a "it's all on you to fix it" message and I wish I had gotten that in school so I'm excited to pay it forward yaaaaaaay

I've been really pressed bc it's finals season and the weather is so nice and I do miss last year when I was planting plants and getting dirty and getting paid for all of it (!!!!) and I know I'm crazy lucky to be studying climate but I do miss being outside for my job. But today I got to take a little bit and go to a park and sit in the sun and I planted some pollinators for my super small porch so it was nice just to have something feel familiar.
And it was such a nicely done park! It was nice to be on the other side and say "I'm really glad someone got paid to do this" and just enjoy it without thinking about maintenance.
I'm gonna be working within energy justice this summer which is world's away from what I've been doing in land management/sustainable ag but I am thrilled to be doing more work that needs doing to combat the climate crisis and make the world better along the way. However, im predicting a lot more park days like this to unwind

The world’s largest solar panel image, a horse, was constructed in the Kubuqi Desert of Inner Mongolia, China starting in 2017. This massive pattern was built with 196,320 solar panels and covers nearly 1.4 square kilometers (0.54 square miles). It is part of a larger photovoltaic generation base with an annual output of 4 billion kilowatt hours.

So one thing I have seen people ask is how do we go from the current state of American Cities to a Walkable utopia or whatever, well its simple. Advocacy and working with your community. Make transit an issue, show your elected officials that you want your city to have a light rail line, demand that they redesign unsafe roads, attend the community input meetings kn the redesign of main street so the pro bike lane voice doesn't get shut down. It's dirty and it's procedural and it's incremental, but change does happen if you show up and fight for it
