What is the backstory for the Lannister family?

on  our  great  houses  page,  it  states  that  the  lannisters  have  a  deep  grudge  with  the  targaryens  because  of  the  crimes  they  felt  daenerys  committed  against  cersei  &  jamie  lannister,  and  it  has  been  generations  of  this  hate  that  leave  them  against  the  targaryen’s  and  their  rule,  believe  that  the  iron  throne  still  belongs  to  them  !  that  being  said,  the  lannisters  are  not  the  result  of  nor  are  they  or  will  they  ever  engaging  in  any  incestuous  activities  !  also,  the  lannisters  of  lannisport  are  paternal  cousins  to  the  lannisters  of  casterly  rock,  so  the  current  older  lord  position  under  the  extended  family  portion  could  be  adapted  to  be  the  ruling  lord  of  lannisport  or  just  a  general  advisor  to  the  current  ruling  lord  of  casterly  rock  !  hopefully  this  makes  sense  !
