2002 Aarons 312 Big One (30 Cars)
The largest Big One in the Modern Era of NASCAR happened when Johnny Sauter flipped violently halfway down the backstretch and sparked a thirty car melee on lap 14 including Greg Biffle, Shane Hmiel, Michael Waltrip, Randy LaJoie, Joe Nemechek, Mike McLaughlin, Jay Sauter, Scott Riggs and others.... Only a few care were about to continue and complete the race. To Exemplify this Kenny Wallace one of the few who made it through the melee blew his engine later in the race and still managed a top 10 finish

Kurt Busch Vs. Jimmy Spencer
In the spring of 2002 Kurt Busch a young driver in his 2nd year of Cup racing was doing well at the spring race at Bristol. A hungry veteran 8 years out from his last win named Jimmy Spencer fought Busch for the lead.
Busch hungry for his first win retaliated hard by moving Spencer out of the way
Busch held on to score his first win at bristol
Spencer was none too happy with the aggressive move by Busch...
A rivalry was born and Busch and Spencer butted heads on occasion throughout the year but the rivalry hit a milestone at the Brickyard 400 when the 2 were racing and Spencer decided to spin Busch going into the corner
Busch was very unhappy with the move...
He also had some not so kind words about Spencer...
Some time passed and more agressive racing between the happened on occasion but at Michigan in 2003, The boiling point was reached. Kurt intentionally bumped Spencer while racing...
Spencer who was fed up with Busch decided he wanted to talk to him after the race...
What followed next but was not captured on camera but witnessed by many was an altercation in which Spencer jumped out of his car and punched Busch in the face multiple times...
Both Busch and Spencer were put on Probation until the end of the year and Spencer was fined $25,000 and suspended.
