As the thunder clouds gather in the sky, a ghost of the past watches over the town and its citizens with great curiosity.

As Poli's dream came to an end, Thunder found himself roaming back to his old place. It was time to haunt the town again, now with a fresh eagerness for life.
However his roaming got interrupted just halfway through his path.
Looks like you've finally cracked the code, old man.
A voice so familiar and so loved. A voice he hasn't heard anything new from for what feels like eons. But he's the only ghost haunting this town!
Thunder snapped his head towards the voice, only to be greeted with a figure he missed to dearly.
Rogue!
In less than an instant, the old ghost flew towards the new one. He fell on his knees, leveling with the red car whom he once married.
My love...
You did it, Thunder. You've found a way.
What do you mean...? Wh- Why are you here, Rogue?!
Even if his wife didn't look at him with the same love in her eye (the one that was gone after Thunder ended his life), that didn't mean he didn't love her.
I came to tell you that you can leave. You're free from your curse.
I'm... Free?
Yes, Thunder. Your team is waiting for you on the other side. Melody is too.
His team... His family. They were all there. Waiting. He could finally embrace them. Tell how sorry he is and how much he loves them. But...
I can't.
???
There was a little pup who was still learning his way of life. The one he swore to watch over.
I've promised to our grandson to help him. Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer.
Rogue examined the old ghost, thinking about his decision. Finally she let out a soft smile.
Very well.
The red car turned around and began floating in the opposite direction. Watching as his lover was leaving, Thunder got up from his knees reaching out a hand towards her.
Wait-- Exclaimed the ghost, which made Rogue stop. I'm sorry. I love you.
The female car stood there for a few moments before turning around, say her final goodbye.
Take care.
And with that, Rogue disappeared. Maybe he wasn't loved by his wife anymore, but she still cared for him. There was still hope for the old ghost.
You too, my love...

Accidents were not the only thing that became more frequent during the winter seasons. Night also took its toll. Freezing cold, with dark clouds hiding the bright stars.
This night was no different. After the duties and adventures came the time to rest. Poli could finally do that. Brush off his paranormal experience. Just snuggled into his warm bed and forget everything...
Except Thunder was there too. Watching the sleepy officer, preparing for his next move.
@thunder-rcp
Poli stretched out his arms, yawning and letting himself collapse onto the fluffy bed he always made. Wrapping himself in blue sheets, a sigh of exhaustion manages to roll out.
A wintery day equals double the rescues. Slippery roads causing cars to slip off and almost cause accidents, luckily the team were always there tor their citizens. It always has been. Patrols from day to night, using their entire bodies to hold off logs threatening to cause injury.
That.. usually consisted his day. But that didn't mean he despised his job. He loved.
But, of course rescuers need to slumber their own way into dreamland.

Heh.. Thanks, kid. Thank you for everything.
Suddenly for both, the world around them started glitching. Grass turning into dark mist, just barely holding it's shape. It wasn't out of Thunder's will however. More like...
You're about to wake up...
One thing that Thunder did not control was someone's sleep. He wouldn't dare to mess with the system this much. They had only a little time left.
Hey, before this dream is over.. I want to show you something.
The old ghost calmly took Poli's hand into his, putting a palm on where the officer's screen was. What the phantom wanted to show, was a place of his rest. His body was never found, rather embraced by the same purple hyacinths. But Poli was yet to find that out.
You should have the coordinates when you wake up... Just don't change anything when you reach it.
Thunder put a hand on Poli's shoulder, proudly gazing at his family.
You've got a lot in you, little one. One day you'll be even greater than I was. Just know that if you'll ever need me, I'll be around to guide you, son.
I'm proud of you...

Grandpa.
For the first time in his life, he was called grandpa. He always dreamt of a family, someone to care for. He ruined it with a desperate decision. And he finally got it back with no sign of hate in the young eyes of the star.
It was too much. Feelings were overflowing him. Feelings of happiness mixed with sadness and guilt. Tears that only ran harder when the ghost gazed upon the kind look.
I-- I- Sniff. I can't- Sorry jus... Just give me a minute.. Oh lord-
Thunder buried himself back in Poli's shoulder, only tightening the hug. Tears still streaming down like rivers.
Yet the rain calmed down. Dark clouds now were slowly revealing a starry sky that was beautifully sparkling above them.
The ghost's weeps soon changed into laughter. Not that if insanity. Rather a genuine laughter of joy that he found after so many years. Thunder finally let go of Poli's shoulder. Wiping away the tears he looked at his grandson.
I.. I missed you so much, son.

Yet the star's rants weren't meant to go on for too long. They got interrupted by the officer getting wrapped in someone's hands.
Thunder. He pulled the young car in a tight hug, hiding his frame in his shoulder. Tears now coming down with full force just like the rain above them.
There was nothing left to hide.
I'm so sorry, son. I'm sorry... If only I stayed, this family could've been better...

Thunder raised his head at the sentence.
The old ghost snapped his head at Poli with pure sock painted on his face. It couldn't be...
Tynan Byeol.. Is your father..?
Or could it? The young star shared the same last name as the last family member the phantom got to see. How did he not draw the connection earlier?!
That means... You're my great great grandson!
Poli, we're family!

Small tears were already running down his frame. He glanced at the officer then at the little gift left on the flower bed.
The yellow of the flowers standing out so much from the usual dark lilac.
Still, I don't get it... Ending my life was supposed to be a way out of my misery! But now I'm stuck here.
As much as the ghost craved for comfort, he could give in to it. Not to a child he was Poli in his eyes. Not when he didn't deserve it.
Thunder rather hugged himself, shielding from the rain he deemed upon both officers.
So many people gone because of this decision... So many forced to follow my path... I lost track of them all.
The last one I got to see is Tynan... He has so young when he had to leave the country... I think they moved to Korea...?

The old ghost kept staring at the you officer with the same icy eyes. Now sparks that only could be compared to lightnings played in them.
Poli... If the dream was really connected to Thunder's emotions, then it was unstable. Despite the numb expression the world around them was glitching, taking them back to the same grassy field. I--
The only difference was an old building standing far away in the distance. It looked like it was about to collapse, but it never did. Rather, it was surrounded by a bed of purple flowers. Hyacinths that grew and decorated the building as if it was an old grave.
Not being able to bare the look of the star Thunder turned away, looking at the exact old building. His body glitching too while heavy rain fell as he spoke.
You.. Can't even begin to imagine how much I'd want that. Have I been alive I- I could've prevent my team from getting forgotten. I could've hold my daughter. I...
I was a fool. I wanted to be with them so bad I forgot about the ones who needed me. When could've done so much I--
I left them. I killed myself.
Words that were spoken so quietly they could be barely heard. Yet they still echoed through the field very clearly, not bothered by the sound of wind or rain. Words that no matter how much he tried to deny, they were always there, staining his miserable existence. For that was his truth and his end.
This is my punishment.

The star shined so bright. Young and naïve he was, unaware of the dangers someone like Thunder posed. Unaware of his deeds..
I...
The connection. The feeling of familiarity. The closeness. So Thunder wasn't the only one feeling this way. Could there actually be something between him and Poli?
I too feel that closeness. It's the reason I visited you. To figure that out... But that shouldn't be a reason for you to look up to me!
The great thunder turned his head towards the little star. He looked him right in the eyes. Cold and stern, just barely 'alive' at this point.
Maybe the source of connection was in something else. Maybe it's time for the ghost to reveal the dirtiest of his deeds.
Poli, tell me. If all of your team were dead, if the town forgot about them and their names... What would you do?

Feeling the pat on his shoulder, Thunder couldn't help but feel the need to distance himself. But he didn't.
It was the first time in century when he's been comforted by someone. Someone who blindly believed in his good. Comfort he did not deserve.
That's the issue here, Poli. She's been looking up to me all her life, wanting to be a rescuer. Yet Rogue cut it off from her, so my daughter's desire became a heavy weight on her children. The nasty memory made him clutch his fists. Very soon, it became a necessity for every following generation to be a rescuer in a way...
He remembered watching his family as a ghost. The countless arguments the two cars had when the youngest asked about her father.
Rogue made sure she could never become a robocar, fearing the worst. But no one could predict that it would result in the family's fallout and generational trauma.
Tell me... Why do you look up to me, son?

A soft chuckle escapes his lips. His eyes were glued to the red car.
My wife was just like that with our daughter. Melody was her name.
The setting suddenly changed once more. Dark clouds taking a new shape, this time of a vintage house.
Quiet singing filled the air as a young purple car joyfully performed in front of her mother. The red car was peacefully writing something, enjoying her daughter's voice.
Thunder's eyes softened in an instant. It was one of the happy moments in the broken family he wished he was a part of.
Rogue brought her up on her own, a wonderful lady. Melody grew up asking a lot about her old man, but she never told her much.
You can't even begin to imagine how much I wanted to be there for them. To hug them tight. Tell them that I'm sorry for leaving.
So many things could've been avoided, and it's all my fault...

A tiny grin pulled at the corners of his mouth. Thunder finally dared to look away from the rescuers.
That... Is somewhat comforting. Wish it was like that for me..
Another couple of voices entered the square. It was a younger version of Thunder and his wife.
Rogue...
He praises her dearly beloved with his eyes. Oh, but how special was the red car.
Could you tell me a little more about your mother, little one?

Yet the town treated the poorly. Spitted Thunder. They were the bravest of the brave but the town still forgot them!
He hated it about the town. It hurt him. It hurt to watch them go. The pain that could never be forgotten.
Blaze, Finn and William. They all dreamed of days of glory when their names would be known. The boys hoped to start a family one day, watch how their legacy grew.
Legacy that was often compared to seeds. Flowers that one probably wouldn't get to see. Unfortunately these seeds were never meant to sprout as they were stepped on by the cruelty of the world.
They only flowers that the deceased team saw were those put next to their picture in the officer's old bedroom. A way to grieve his old friends.
But that wasn't meant to be...

I am... Truly sorry. I am not sure.what happened to you, little one, but I hope you're doing better.
Just know that you can push through whatever hardship you're going through and that there are people who care about you. And.. Please, never do that.
If you ever need someone, you can always talk to me, little one. I'll try to offer whatever comfort I can.

Hmm...
His memories... They were not the happiest ones, but he was willing to try for the kid.
Alright.. I think you'd be interested in seeing the town.
Within a click of Thunder's fingers, the world around them began to transform. Grassy fields turning into dark mist of clouds before taking their final shape. Soon, the central town square was recognizable, although much different.
It was way emptier. With no huge statue in the middle of the road, but rather a small garden with lovely flowers. Many houses were just being built. It was the birth of Broomstown, its first golden age before the current team.
This where I grew up, son. That's how the town looked like a long time ago--
The ghost's speech got interrupted by a couple of voices. He turned his head in their direction. There were standing two male robocars. A red and orange fire truck and a white and blue ambulance. The two were talking to some children, probably giving some safety lessons.
Thunder drew a long sigh, his gaze saddening.

Serene stars were starting back at the furious lightings. Beauty of the night that even the mighty hurricane couldn't hide.
What was he doing? He didn't mean for that to happen.
Thunder let go of the boy, taking a step back. Heavy pants were escaping the old ghost while the weather go calmer.
S-Sorry I-- I didn't mean to get like that, son. Just never do that, alright, kid?
Poli was right. The ghost was in pain. Decades with being able to move on. It drove him crazy.
I'm tired... I miss them...

The soft rain was gone. It was now replaced with loud banging of thunder and lightning baolts escaping every now and then.
He remembered the time... Thunder snapped his head at the star, furiously looming over him.
Well, such loneliness is something that I deserve-
And don't you ever, a few small lighting bolts escaped his frame. The ghost grabbed at the officer's shoulders, shaking him slightly. Ever do that! That is the worst decision one can make. You must be a blind idiot if you really want to end your life!
He stared at the young one with glowing eyes of anger, heavily panting while maintaining his grip firm and strong.
