Okay, so after that DLC I had feelings. A lot of them. I cried with and for Alexios and it was just... yeah. Then I felt the need to write again. It has been ages and I guess it shows, but I’m also glad that is still there for me, so... here it is.
I know it’s not great and English isn’t my first language anyway, so....be nice? I’m rusty af, but also so happy something inspired me to write again, even though it’s a video game.
Oh and the first thing I write, my original ‘plan’ went out of the window straight away. He went to a different place than I meant to, but...maybe not? ;)
Anyway, here goes.... Maybe there will be more, I don’t know.
Okay and since I’m a chicken, I don’t tag it like I wanted to... maybe it will find its way out there, but maybe not...

He stared at the sea, even though the boat was long gone. Elpidios was gone. He would never see his son again…
He simply could not move, not feel, not think. Only when Phobos nudged him lightly, he blinked and noticed that it had gone dark. He petted his faithful horse lightly and then noticed Ikaros, watching him from a perch. He closed his eyes, shaking his head lightly. They were there for him and he had his ship, Barnabas…his crew.
Alexios straightened up and swung onto Phobos, making his way back to the Adrasteia . Barnabas looked at him, but didn’t ask, when Alexios barked short orders and told the crew to shut the fuck up, when they attempted to start singing.
At the harbour of Athens, many hours later his mood hadn’t improved and he let it feel the first stupid Mithios who thought he could challenge the Eagle Bearer. It didn’t help. He wiped blood off his hands and started to run towards the familiar home.
Alkabiades was in a familiar state of undress when Alexios found him. The blond man was smirking and opening his mouth for some witty remark, but closed it and his face turned into a concerned frown as soon as he fully looked at Alexios.
Alexios pulled him close and started kissing him roughly. Alkabiades didn’t object at all, he kissed back and started undressing his favourite Mithios, moaning when his lip got bit.
In Alexios eyes whirled a storm of emotions and Alkibiades wasn’t sure which dominated, but he knew Alexios well enough to know, that now was not the time for questions.
Even though they have been lovers for a long time and friends for a while now, there was nothing soft or tender in their coupling this time. Neither was there any of the usual playfulness. Alexios made sure that Alkibiades came first and then he let go, pounding into his friend, knowing he would not hurt him.
His climax came, but it only felt good for a second. He shuddered lightly, let out a quiet moan, that turned into a soft sob and soon after he clung to Alkibiades, telling the young man everything, in between heart wrenching sobs.
Alkibiades listened and felt his own eyes fill with tears. How could Alexios bear all this and still be sane. Well, he could not bear it - that was why he was here…
Alexios talked and cried until there were no words, no tears left in him, and he was simply exhausted. Alkibiades had moved so he could hold his friend and stroke his hair and face softly.
Alexios would never admit it openly, but he liked those light touches. It showed him that Alkabiades cared and the blond did it, because he knew that and he also really did care. He cared more than he should, more than he ever wanted to care for somebody else.
That made this so hard for him as well and he then had the realisation that he was in love. The irony of the timing was not lost on him, but he also knew Alexios felt something for him as well. The proud Mithios, the Eagle Bearer had come to him in the most desperate moment of his life, he felt safe here.
Maybe, someday…
“I’m tired, Alkabiades.” Said Alexios quietly, tears drying on his face. Alkibiades smiled tenderly and continued to run his fingers through Alexios’ hair. “Sleep, my sweet Mithios. You are safe here.”
Alexios started to say something, stopped and the just nodded lightly and a shadow of a smile lit up his face a little bit for a small moment. He closed his eyes and wrapped himself tighter around Alkabiades, finally giving in to his exhaustion.
That was how Barnabas, who was looking for Alexios found him, a couple of hours later.
“I should have known…” Barnabas said quietly and fondly, looking relieved. Alkibiades just raised an eyebrow and was met with a slight glare. “You better not break his heart too…” Barnbas’ tone was quiet but there was steel underneath it.
Alkibiades looked down at Alexios and bit his lip. “Dear Barnabas, that is the furthest thing on my mind.”
Barnabas gave Alkibiades a long searching look and then nodded. “Take care of him…and tell him the Adrasteia will wait for him, as always.” Then he just left and Alkibiades settled down to join Alexios in the land of dreams.
