It finally happened. Finally. Way too many years in the making. If you know me you know I've wanted this for so long. Daft Punk is like 54% of my identity. I’ve had this design drawn since 2012 and I always found reasons to delay it. “What if this is just a phase?” And then while I’ve changed dramatically, the love still holds strong. “Well maybe I need to sit on the design for a while in case I don’t like it later.” And then it was still etched in my mind years later. "Well I'll wait til their next album comes out." And then Random Access Memories was released and it was the album of the year. "Well I need a good artist to do it." And then I found Aura. And then I had to wait the months for the appointment. But here it is. It's done. My homage to Daft Punk, my inspirations, my muse. I honestly don't think I would've gotten through college without them. Through their art, they helped me figure out who I was as a person and what kind of person I wanted to be, what kind of person the world needs more of. There's that connection of when you listen to someone talk and you realize your brain operates on the same wavelength and you share the way you see the world, the way you see what's important, the way you treat people, and what you desire out of life. Daft Punk’s “Make Love” is what my soul sounds like. I can listen to Contact and be brought to tears like I’ve been given the privilege of ascension for just 6 minutes and 23 seconds. But it’s more than just a band, more than just music, more than just art. I’m rambling on, but regardless. It’s beautiful and I love it. This is so important to me.

I’ve been working on this commission for a tattoo design of J27 (Blackberry). Above you can see the different stages of development from the initial sketches to the more final design. It’s not quite finished yet, but it’s nearly there!

Bear-Goji is more difficult for me. The combination of Reptilian and Bear features are a particular balance. I need to practice him a little more.
