I have my headcanon(!) what Hyacinthus is 189 (~6.2') and Apollo in his human form is 168 (~5.5'). I AM SORRY, BUT IT'S CUTIE, I LOVE THIS HEADCANON

And also I love thought what Hyacinthus is real Spartan prince, so he can lift Apollo with one his arm😂

hello!! special edition!

Angels Before Man is turning 2 years old (from its original release) and around 3 from its original drafting! i decided to make a special version with art by the incredible @ikkihuikki , an embossed cover based on the one I made to print the draft for myself, an introduction/retrospective, a bookmark with art by @duckhymn, a random surprise thing, and my siganture! ive never offered my signature before but i figured why not.

It is so fucking cool how CS Pacat wrote Will as an unreliable narrator who is often hiding his thoughts from the reader, cutting himself off, leaving us guessing even when we are in his head.

And the reason it works is that it’s not just a handy literary device that creates mystery, it is perfectly in line with the rest of Will’s character. He is in fact sneaky, repressed, and traumatized. There are parts of himself and his past that he’s unable to accept, thoughts and memories that terrify him, that he has to keep locked up. He can’t even enjoy a hug from Violet without feeling guilt. He realizes he might be the Dark King in like chapter 3 but doesn’t allow himself to think/process it till Katherine dies. He knows how many minutes it takes to choke someone to death. Being attracted to James is too Sarcean-like so he tries to not have those thoughts as well, even though it feels like “the sun, or something brighter”

And all these things are for the reader to infer from Will’s actions rather than being told explicitly by the narrative, which forces the reader to actively participate in the storytelling and become more invested.

TlDR: and that’s how cs.pacat fucked me up and ruined me for all other books 😭
