It is debatable whether it "endangered the entire protest" or whether it provided additional context and nuance to the likely illegal restrictions on political speech. If the Berlin police cannot muster enough Arabic-fluent staff to ascertain that the political speeches are compliant with laws around antisemitism, that is their problem and they suck at their jobs, and I think throwing an extra language at them in an adjacent space and then going off to the pub to make it even MORE irritating, can be a valid strategy. The police created this incident for themselves, and adjacent creative responses/resistances to the evolving police threats are part of what makes movements strong, even if it creates problems on the margins and makes things harder in the short term. It is good overall for movements to have individuals who attempt to flexibly interact with attempts at oppression, even if sometimes those particular efforts are fraught.

YES I was always very impressed with her ability to politely be clear yet skirt direct confrontation of a topic.

I think one of the reasons Abigail keeps stopping Harrow's Aus, is because they get more intimate. They get more into Harrow's deep romantic fantasies, and Abigail doesn't wish these to be exposed in an un-consensual manner in Harrow's brain desperate attempt to preserve Gideon's soul. One of Abigail's traits is that she is curious, but not at the expense of someone's else autonomy. She asks Harrow if she knows what is in the Tomb, not what it is, because she knows it's an important secret that the Ninth is supposed to guard.

It's how I interpreted her character anyway.

school is so traumatizing eVEN TO PEOPLE WHO SUCCEED IN IT that it is an almost universal type of nightmare that people have, where they are back in school and subjected to the traumatizing restrictions and capricious "discipline" that is routine there.

adults are always talking about how “kids will do anything to get out of school” and okay, first of all that’s not true, but I think we really need to ask why that idea holds so much sway.

children’s brains are hard-wired to take in new information and acquire new skills. consider, for a moment, just how thoroughly our society had to fuck up the concept of education for it to be a normal thing to assume kids are universally desperate to avoid learning.

there's a lot of very relatable and commendable toxic bullshit in cardassian culture on screen and i love the writers for it

like the ep where kira wakes up as a cardassian and her "family" tries to gaslight her into accepting that she was a deep cover operative. her "father" explains the deep cover program's premise to her, and at her shocked expression at the significant ethical problems of wiping operatives memories potentially permanently to make them more convincing in their cover, all he says (with complete placid confidence) is, "You can't argue with success!" And I quote that all the time when something is horrifying and shady yet getting the job done.

Re: the Sederholm grave, does the direction a hieroglyph is facing not matter, or was one column just flipped for the aesthetic?

Hieroglyphs as a script can be read left to right or right to left, the way you can tell which way to read them is by looking at which way the characters with faces are facing and then reading into those faces. So if the character faces left, you read from the left, and if it's facing right then you read from the right. This is often how you can tell something isn't written using real hieroglyphs because they're facing all different directions.

However, Hieroglyphs are an art form as well as a script, so the Egyptians can and did flip the direction of hieroglyphs if they were to be set on either side of something like a door or an image so things looked aesthetically pleasing. Like this false door from the tomb of Metjetji:
