Thinking up parallels between the rivalry/enemies brotherhood of Elan and Nale in Order of the Stick, to the cousins/rivalry/enmity of Adrien Agreste and Felix Fathom.

Both are identical copies of each other. The evil/enemy twin poses as the good guy twin in both cases. There's less love lost between Elan and Nale, but like... idk, it's a similar dynamic.

As I closely relate to Vaarsuvius, I now headcanon that V has at least one sibling significantly younger than V, who constantly ask how things are spelled.

This is because I suffer from the same. Yet I consider it quite useful for purposes of instruction and bonding.

Finished my reread of The Order of the Stick! God I love this comic. I noticed the most recent pages seem to be taking a shift back towards the comedic which is nice; it's been in heavy plot mode for a while, but it feels like there's been more good page-end punchlines since the end of Utterly Dwarfed, unsure how much of that effect is real though. I'm not complaining either way, but it's just interesting to see how much the comic has changed over time.

Some big mysteries still left. The [—] in the rift is obviously where the plot is heading, though its role in said plot is less obvious. I'm very unsure where the MitD thing is heading given that that's been with us since the very start; I can't think of a satisfying conclusion for it at the moment. I suspect the IFCC will be back soon as well.

I wonder how many more times I'll get to read it – I haven't got a rule but I seem to have managed to approximate three years between whenever I decide I want to read it again so far – I suspect it'll be ongoing for at least four more years so maybe twice more at this rate.

If anyone ever mean or nasty to you one of the kindest things you can do is make the charitable assumption that they’re acting this way because they’ve been treated this way. You don’t have to put up with that treatment either, but if you hit it back with equal vitriol you’re only creating more anger in the world and likely confirming in their mind the negative biases they have towards people.

It takes a lot of strength to be kind, to be gentle, try to be an example to others and maybe they’ll learn from you.
