The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)
Classic and beloved! The Day the Earth Stood Still is timeless. I also love the reimagining starring Keanu Reeves. The story is about how a humanoid envoy travels from another world to Earth. He visits Washington, D.C. to warn the government to cease their violent behaviors. It’s always that one nervous soldier that shoots an alien, and this film is no exception! , with a warning to Earth’s people to cease their violent behavior. The military didn’t expect he traveled with a companion, his protector, to attempt to destroy the capital.

The Thing (1982)
The X-Files has a similar episode that was equally creepy. The setting is also the same. Scientists are working in Antarctica. They’re forced to abandon their research when a helicopter crashed and a lone dog escapes the accident. In the X-Files, there’s also a helicopter and a dog. The difference is a storm traps the scientists and the dog is already a pet at the station. In The Thing, the otherworldly canine changes form in the middle of the night. The dog is a shape-shifting alien that can attack humans. This film is a remake of the classic 1950 film.

The Trollenberg Terror (1958)
Sisters Anne (Janet Munro) and Sarah Pilgrim (Jennifer Jayne) are worried by Anne's telepathic sense, which goes haywire.
