My reintroduction to the world....

I stay in my head on most days. Does that make me lonely? Or grown? Cause it seems a little like both. Thoughts?

You know what upsets me the most about growth? It’s the caring. Before in my reckless and carefree days I didn’t give a fuck about nothing. I would cuss someone out, talk shit about somebody, fight somebody and I would still sleep easy with no issues. Most of the time drunk, but sleep none the less.  Always fight first, questions later. Now. One conversation with someone will have me in my head…

One of my favorite books, this came out in 1975, and was one of my favorite books growing up because there was Black people in it. (There wasn’t a lot when I was growing up, or at least not in our school library.) My child just told me when I read it to her as a kid she had nightmares. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Why is she like this? Regardless of who you voted for, this is a chance to bring our country back together. For so long we’ve been divided by someone who wanted to take America back to a time where we weren’t all free. As I find out today that Breonna Taylor still did NOT get justice. As I see people rioting and fighting because we are tired. Stop pacifying us with small wins. A company sign that says #blacklivesmatter but do you believe that? Then put your money where your mouth is. Don’t just give a few dollars to Black companies with Black in the brand name. Actually give dollars to companies and government agencies that will create change. We deserve justice! We deserve peace! My best friend finally made a GoFundMe to help with them and their partners rent and college fees.

TL;DR - They have just found a new place after facing eviction but are jobless and have to pay for everything out of their savings while one of them goes to school.

Thankfully they have a savings but it will not last very long and both of them haven’t had much luck finding a new job in this Rona climate. So, if anyone can spare a couple of dollars to black trans Philly residents (and their adorable blind cat), then it would be most appreciated!

Pride Month is almost over and I can’t let it go past without waving my flag proud! 🏳️‍🌈 As a woman of color, a writer, a mom and a freelancer, there is always so many titles placed on my life. But the one I have silently flown has been this one. Once upon a time I let too many people have a say over my life, as if they were the ones living it.
