BUT i’m not even done. because i’m making a separate google doc to hyper-analyze ponyboy’s poem. god i love looking into poetry. i just KNOW that won’t fit into the ao3 character limit, so i made a separate google doc. i don’t know how long that one’s going to take though…

that’s a very hard question omg… and from WSMS too ?? oh god. i don’t think i can do JUST quotes, much less ONE all time favorite. but what i can do is list off my favorite chapters…? or well, my favorite block of quotes from those chapters.

the entirety of chapter nine and everything i quoted from there. i absolutely ADORED that chapter. i loved seeing dallas protecting ponyboy and pony letting himself be vulnerable around dally. it was perfect.

chapter eleven was so bittersweet and the first WSMS chapter to actually get me to tear up and cry. reading from pony’s perspective is always my favorite. legends_never_die gave him such a complex character and with all these conflicting (not to mention angsty) thoughts… it’s everything to me.

i couldn’t stop smiling to myself while reading through chapter sixteen omg. seeing dallas’s character changing and evolving is so fun. the way he was putting in the effort to make pony comfortable despite their circumstances (ahem… living at buck merrill’s..) was so sweet, not to mention going horse riding together. giggling and kicking my feet.

of course chapter seventeen was an iconic moment. that was when i hit the comment character limit for the first time so i’m obviously very proud of it. plus the closet part and the (technically implied but who cares it’s practically canon) “i love you” said by dallas was written so well. then we got purly which was really nice. i’m loving the purly in this fic

i will always love chapter twenty-two for including a DETAILED nyc flashback. like omg yay !!! the way dally said he wouldn’t leave pony (then did) was heartbreaking in the best way possible. then the other half of the chapter was pb&j content which was nice. i love those little moments where pony softens up around johnny and has his back, even if he still feels conflicted about him. plus indirect purly kiss was cute.

i just loved pulling quotes from these chapters and especially since there was SO MUCH CONTENT i loved !!! again, thanks for the ask 🫶

predictions?? hmm… for next chapter, i know pony and johnny are gonna get jumped by socs, but compared to other people’s predictions, i’m not so sure if johnny’s gonna kill bob/they go to windrixville. it just feels too predictable for legends_never_die to do that. don’t get me wrong, i’d love to see it, and especially see how it plays with our current pb&j dynamic (the tension is gonna go crazy), but i just don’t think it’ll happen like canon. the author’s gonna twist it somehow.

i’ve got a lot of future predictions/theories now that i think about it. to start, a theory i’ve got on why dallas left pony is because he made a deal with his father. not very original of me, i know. it’s a popular theory, but it’s popular for a reason. it just makes the most sense right now.

ex: quote from chapter eleven: “Dad…does he hurt…” “Yeah.” Pony nodded. “Course.” “But he said…”

^^ whatever their dad said to dally HAD to have been part of their deal. i’m thinking something along the lines of this: if dallas leaves new york, then their dad promises not to abuse ponyboy. something like that maybe…? i’m not sure, but that’s what i’ve got.

asking me for my analysis on WSMS is a question you should NOT have asked because i have way too much to say. this post is already long enough bro 😭😭

i just missed the new WSMS chapter because i was in school + the fire alarm went off (and i don’t know if it was a drill either…)

I JUST MISSED THE NEW WSMS CHAPTER.

i was in my last period class and i saw the notification that the chapter was posted three hours ago and my face DROPPED. then 30ish minutes later school ended so i walked to the buses but THEN the fire alarm went off. the first thing i said was “goddamn it i need to get home so i can read this chapter.” i genuinely did not care about that fire i just wanted my chapter :(

i am not kidding when i say there is a physical pain in my chest right now. like missing a chapter actually hurts me physically. i am so sad right now. depressed. despaired. anguished. i am running out of synonyms (haha that’s a reference) i’m on the verge of tears. i’m so mad at myself right now.

definitely ao3 and @legends-never-die1 addicted but i say that with pride and confidence! anyway i’ll do the quotes (maybe) soon depending on how long i’ll feel sad for.
