The magazine that caught her attention today was about the recent speculation on who Hibiki Lates would appear with next. It seemed the man was always on the romantic move but Ultear was not sure how much of it was genuine. Not that it mattered, really, it was just rumor, speculation and really, not intelligent reading.

But compelling.

Compelling enough that she didn’t realize Jellal had moved closer until she smelled his familiar scent and felt the warmth of his body. Instantly, her demeanor softened — any edge she carried rounded and leaned back into Jellal. The magazine slipped from her fingers and she heard the shuffling as it slipped off the bed due to the movement of herself and Jellal.

“And hello to you, as well.” Ultear’s voice was featherlight. Her arm wrapped around him as well and she pressed herself against him as much as he allowed — which, considering how much he enjoyed this, was a lot — and she inhaled the scent and feeling of contentless that came with the motions.

Gossip magazines were a forgotten vice, at least for now.

Ultear loves to cook, actually! It’s something that takes time, precision, flair, there’s creativity and an end result that can be shared with others. So of course she loves it. She especially loves trying out new dishes and when she discovers something new, there’s an excited glint in her eyes. Nowadays, she enjoys cooking and watching those she’s grown to care about enjoy it together.

To some, waiting around was fine; peaceful or relaxing even. To Mags, it was boring. She sighed and sat down beside Ultear, looking around for something to talk about or entertain herself with. Her eyes landed on Ultear's hair and the way it seemed to shine in the light. She found herself reaching out to gently touch it. "I wish my hair was like yours, it's so pretty."

waiting was something ultear had gotten used to. she's always had to be patient. patient & ready for anything that might occur. she breathed out slowly to calm her nerves — for she loathed when the group had to split. but it had to be done at times. at the very least, she wasn't alone.

mags was there, of course. she did not seem the type to know how to wait and be patient and yes, ultear was correct. the time mage normally was. she watched on the edge of her vision as a manicured hand reached out for her hair; a gentle touch. if ultear did not want it to happen, it wouldn't have. but mags was harmless. to her, at least.

a smile grew on her face as a singular eyebrow raised. "you sure about that?" ultear was not a particularly vain woman anymore, but she did not have access to the products she used to us. "i used to feel it was a mess daily — back in the beginning. i don't use as much... things as i used to." a pause. "thank you, mags, that's very nice."

today’s crossword puzzle in the edelweiss gazette was an animal themed one which made ultear quite happy. sadly, none of the answers were cow but she liked other animals enough. sirius was laying at her feet on the couch where she was sitting up, her tea definitely cold now as her focus was away from it. vaguely, she could feel jellal shifting around but he wasn’t doing much to get her attention.

at least, she thought so until she felt the soft, warm lips of jellal pressed on her cheek. the gentle action itself caused her stomach to flip as her face formed a soft, truly happy smile.

“you are being very sweet this morning, i see.” ultear informed him. as he moved away, she reached to peck him on the lips quickly and leaned back once more. “i like it.”

hot coffee, huh, ultear thought. it was a silly thought, but she did wonder how much he kept up his ice preferences. she personally didn't usually go one way or another, but the scales tended to tip towards iced. an invitation, then. a smile formed on her lips and she nodded, sipping her own iced drink for a moment.

"that sounds lovely, gray. you're the expert in magnolia — what places do you recommend?"

Grays smile would widen slightly, a thought beginning to form in his head as he raised the cup of coffee held in his hand up to his lips in order to take a drink of the hot liquid. There wasnt much going on in the guild that he had to attend to and he didn’t have any jobs to attend to, so he figured today would be a good a day as any to take a day off.

“No offense taken, but in that case would you like to get lunch and catch up or something? Its been forever since we’ve gotten to spend any time together” The ice mage asked

at the sound of his approach, ultear had quickly finished the sentence of her book and by the time the sound of his voice reaches her, her bookmark was placed and the book was closing as the word 'birthday' was said. a smile came to her, unbidden, splitting her face into two before she let out a soft laugh. the truth was, she had forgotten her birthday was approaching. well. sorta.

"is your little birdie aware that my birthday is technically the 29th and i've another year before it comes to that?" ultear cheekily asked. she wasn't normally one to get excited for her own birthday. in fact, she didn't celebrate it often at all, despite how rare it was to occur. but. well. jellal's excitement was mischievous and it both excited and intrigued her. "and what a mysterious birdy, indeed. i guess we'll have to wait the two days, hm?"

he looked a little tired, she noted. maybe it was time in the sun or more accurately, just life in general. things get pretty hectic very quickly she's learned in her time in magnolia. she truly wondered, back in the day, how a guild like fairy tail truly interacted day to day. about as much as you'd expect.

"well, you know — it's my time to be in magnolia now as per council's orders." ultear told him. "i haven't been in the guild proper much, to be honest. it's loud. no offense, of course."

Digits would be raised up to cover his lips as they parted to allow the yawn that escaped, dark orbs briefly being covered by his eyelids while he made his way through the roads of Magnolia towards a coffee shop that one of the other guild mates had recommended. He wasn't normally one that went out of his way to try new ones if he was by himself but having the day free to himself and been wandering around the area taking time to himself away from the constant chaos that was Fairy Tail.

 His attention would be drawn away from attempting to step around people as they passed him by on the sidewalk when he noticed the familiar woman approaching him lips curled upwards into a smile. His gaze would soften slightly as his own lips moved to return her smile with a warm one of his own. “Morning Ultear its really nice to see you as well.” He spoke giving her a small shrug along with a chuckle “If you consider getting coffee for yourself a coffee run i suppose so. What brings you to Magnolia?”
