Using background found in my sketchbook o chose to place my press release on top of them to try and find the perfect one to present it on. I specifically liked the look of the middle one as it specifically related to my final garment and also my design boards.
Here is my final garment. Overall all I am extremely pleased with the outcome of this. I specifically like the look of all of the stuff lol puffs gathered together. If I could change one thing about this garment it would be the zip at the top. Unfortunately I was unable to church a shaft edge when lining it. However I now know when creating a basic dress I need to cut down the extra fabric as much as possible so it doesn’t gather in the corner.
As I will be dying my Suffolk puffs made from calico I chose to experiment with different dyes and colours. The first dye that I experimented with was brusho. The final outcomes of this was great however I found that the calico wasn’t the exact colours that I wanted. The second dye that I experimented with was water colour. This have off a much more accurate colour to what I was wanting and I believe that it is the best choice.
After experimenting with a range of fabrics previously in the unit I have chosen to use calico for the Suffolk puffs on my final garment. I am going to experiment with a bunch of dyes and see which has the best outcome.
