A Pictures Worth a Thousand Words || Finchel
Rachel picked up the little girl from the changing table, giggling as the baby hit her cheeks softly, "Mama, mama, mama," the baby babbled happily. Rachel smiled as she strapped her into the carrier. She stepped over to the dresser, picking up several outfits she had picked for the big day! She slid hem into a open pocket in her diaper bag before picking the baby carrier up and handing Hadley a pacifier to keep he busy. She headed downstairs, happy to find Finn was already dressed.
Today, they were finally going to little Hadley's picture taken professionally. It took some convincing on Rachel's part, but once Finn agreed, she was beyond happy. She had been picking out outfits for weeks and couldn't wait any longer! Rachel smiled, stepping over to Finn and pressing a kiss on his lips, "How are you, baby?" she asked her husband after licking her lips as she pulled away, "Are you exited?"

Rachel rolled hr eyes playfully at Finn as she spook to the baby girl. She ran her fingers under the little girl's shirt, tickling her belly and making Hadley giggle. She smiled at the laugh, happy she could make the little girl she loved so much happy as well.
Rachel smiled, nuzzling her head into the crook of his neck as he pulled her closer. She hummed softly, her fingers gripping the other side of his shirt as she leaned into him.
Rachel smiled as she was handed the baby and she leaned back and broght her knees up. Putting Hadley's back to her legs, she let the baby grab her finger and she moved them back and forth as Hadley giggled loudly.
"Ma...Ma...Ma-ma!"
“Awe, no. Don’t listen to, Mama, Hadley-Padley.” Finn said in a playful whisper to the baby in his arms as he leaned down to gently rub his nose against Hadley’s small one. “Mama’s crazzzzy, she doesn’t know that she’s more perfect than I’ll ever be. Just like you are.”
Looking over at Rachel, he flashed her a smirk. “I love you too, baby.” He murmured to her softly and moved an arm back to gently wrap around her frame and pull her closer to him.
“Here, Hads, why don’t you go see Mama, huh?” He asked as he gently handed the baby over to his wife. “There you go, baby girl.”

Rachel giggled at Finn's complimenting, a soft pink filling her cheeks. She closed her  eyes as his lips pressed against her temple and gave him a smile. Rachel's head moved back down to the crook of his neck and she sighed contently.
Her eyes drifted from her husband to the babbling baby girl who giggled as Finn tickled her, "Much more perfect then Mama!" Rachel said with a small giggle, "But Daddy's perfect too. Much too perfect for me." She smiled.
Rachel's eyes fluttered closed as her head shifted a bit and she let out a small hum and another smile, "I love you so much," she whispers.
Finn wrapped one arm loosely around Rachel’s shoulders and sighed contently looking down at both of the girls. “You two are both just too perfect for me, aren’t you?” He asked them with a laugh.
“But Mama’s especially perfect.” He murmured, pressing an affectionate kiss to Rachel’s temple. “I love you so much, Rach.”
“And you too, baby girl!” He exclaimed, grinning as he gently tickled the baby’s sides making Hadley erupt into little giggles.

Rachel moved herself up onto the couch next to Finn and she leaned her head against his shoulder as she stared down at the babbling baby girl. She smiled at Hadley, a hand moving over to pull down her already riding up shirt.
Rachel's smile grew into a grin as Hadley said it again. She smiled brightly, "I'll second that, very smart baby girl," Rachel agreed with a nod and a small giggle.
She reached a hand out and Hadley's fist wrapped around her finger quickly, "I love you too little one very very much."
Finn nodded his head along with his wife’s words. “I agree with that fact.” He said, pressing a kiss to the top of Rachel’s head and sighing contently.
“Good girl, Hadley-Padley!” He exclaimed as Hadley said his name again and he kissed her tiny fingers with a smile. “You’re so smart, baby!” He said, smiling as he leaned down to nuzzle his nose gently against Hadley’s.
“I love you so much, baby girl.” He murmured to her and smiled wider as the baby gently patted his cheeks.

Rachel giggled happily, her smile never fading. She rubbed her thumb over Hadley's cheek, kissing the little girl's forehead again as she looked up at Finn, "You're growing up Hads!" She exclaimed with another giggle.
Rachel leaned her head against Finn's shoulder, "It feels like just yesterday when you were still in Mama's tummy, huh?" Rachel mused, moving her eyes from Finn to the babbling baby. Rachel nodded, "I guess so."
"Da-da! Da-da!" Hadley babbled again, her fingers reaching up to run over Finn's face.
“We knew you could do it, Peanut!” Finn exclaimed, the wide grin never leaving his face as he leaned down to rub his nose gently against his daughter’s making Hadley squeal out in laughter.
Looking over to Rachel, he smiled wider. “I know, baby.” He murmured and pecked her lips softly. “You must take more after your Mommy than we thought, little one!” He grinned and kissed the top of Hadley’s head.
“Say it again baby, say my name.” He urged her gently.

Rachel sighed as she continued, unsure whether or not her attempts would actually work. She was starting to think they wouldn't and was very close to giving up. Besides, she knew Finn wanted to play with the little girl before her nap which was only in a half an hour. But Rachel knew Hadley rarely went to nap on time anyways.
Her mouth dropped as she heard the words come from the baby's mouth. She nodded as tears filled her eyes, 'Yes, yes, she said it!" Rachel said loudly, wiping her eyes and scooting up so she could see the little girl and her husband better. She placed a hand on Hadley's forehead and leaned down to press a kiss on her cheek, "You're so smart little one!"
Rachel giggled as she looked up at Finn, "Our little girl can already talk!"
As Finn took a seat down next to Rachel on the blanket he wasn’t too optimistic about this, since he really didn’t think that Hadley was ready to talk. He didn’t talk until he was around eight months old or so and at this point he assumed that Hads was going to be the same way.
He let out a small sigh, listening to Rachel repeat the same thing over and over again and his gaze drifted around the room because Hadley seemed about as interested in what her mother was saying as he did.
At those small words though, his mouth dropped open and a huge smile broke out across his face. “Oh my god, Rach!” He exclaimed. “Did you hear that!? Our baby’s talking!” He cried pulling Hadley into his arms. “Baby girl, you did such a good job!”

Rachel smiled as Finn agreed, making her way out to the living room with Finn by her side. She knew Hadley was close, but she couldn't just repeat the words over and over again. She had to make sure the baby knew 'Mama' and 'Dada' meant different things. That 'blankie' and 'binki' would make Mama or Daddy give them to you. Rachel would much rather have the baby understand, but she also wanted to hear the little one talk.
She smiled as Finn pressed a kiss to the little girl's head and reached her arms out to take the baby. She smiled brightly as Hadley reached up and ran her hands over her mother's face. Rachel giggled, sitting down on the floor and spreading out a blanket with one hand.
She set Hadley down, her finger's tickling the baby's belly. She smiled, repeating the sentence and word Hadley's pediatrician had recommended. She had started to run out of hope around the first ten minutes until she heard the words.
"Da-da."
Finn knew that Rachel wouldn’t give up on this no matter how hard he tried so he sighed and looked over to his wife before nodding his head slowly. “Okay, but not for too long, okay?”
He turned to look down at Hadley and a wide smile grew across his face. “I still want some playtime with you, cutie before we put you down for your nap.” Pressing a kiss to the top of Hadley’s head, he beamed.
“Here, babe. Do your thing or whatever you need to.” He sighed, handing Hadley over to Rachel.

Rachel crossed her arms over her chest as Finn spook to Hadley, rolling her eyes playfully. She tried to keep a straight face but as Hadley's loud giggles filled the room, she couldn't help but smile at her husband and their perfect little girl. Hadley was just too cute and her giggle was the most amazing song she ever heard in her life.
Rachel smiled, "I just haven't had enough time, Finn, please!" Rachel pleaded her arms uncrossing and moving to her hips. One hip pushing out further then the other as her fingers gripped around them. She sighed and rolled her eyes again, this time more playfully.
The brunette sighed but kissed the tall boy back, her forehead resting on his, "Can we just try one more time? Please? You can help. I know Hads can do it," Rachel whispered her eyes closing as her forehead pressed against his.
“Oh yeah?” Finn asked, arcing an eyebrow at his wife as he set down their daughter on his hip. “How many words can you say so far, Miss Hadley-Padley?” He asked the baby with a small smirk as he tickled her sides and her giggles filled the room.
“That’s what I thought!” He exclaimed and looked over at Rachel. “Looks like she’s learned oh so much, baby.” Smirking, he gently pecked her lips, resting his forehead against hers. “She’ll get there, Rach, don’t worry.” He whispered.
“You’re super super smart, right baby girl? You’ve got Mommy’s genes which makes you extra special. I’m sure you’ll be talking just as loud as she does soon!”

Rachel giggled as Hadley made more babbling noises and swung her little hands up and down. She leaned in and kissed the little girl's cheek, "You want some sweet potatoes, girly?" Rachel asked, pulling her hands away. Sweet potatoes were one of the only baby foods Hadley would still eat happily. She was more into apple sauce and mashed potatoes no matter how hard Rachel tried to get her to eat green peas and spinach.
She smiled as she picked up a little container and a spoon, heading back to the little girl who was now upset since Rachel walked away. She pouted at the little one, "Don't be sad, Hads, I didn't go anywhere," she smiled and opened the container.
Rachel's pulled a bib over the baby's front, hooking it in the back before filling the spoon up and feeding the baby. She smiled as Finn came up, finshing off the last of the food and wiping off Hadley's dirty mouth. She giggled and nodded, "It's going just fine, thank you very much!" Rachel teased, smiling at him as he picked up their daughter.
Finn knew that Rachel was intent on making their daughter start to talk and it wasn’t that he was entirely against it or anything, it’s just he thought that she would talk when she was ready and that forcing her to do it wasn’t going to do any good. He could hardly believe that she was already old enough to be talking and he knew it amazed Rachel too. Their tiny baby girl had already gotten so big and he swore he loved her more and more each and every day.
Getting up from his spot on the bed in their bedroom, Finn hurried downstairs to the kitchen where Rachel was trying and for the most part failing at trying to teach their daughter to talk.
“There are my girls.” He grinned, walking over behind Rachel and wrapping his arms around her, giving her cheek a kiss. “How’s the talking going? Not so well, huh?” He smirked, reaching out for Hadley and picking her up into his arms, swinging her around gently and making the baby giggle in response.
