Rehearsal dinner and wedding with a newborn and a toddler were both tremendously successful!

Originally it was meant to be a child free wedding, but I gently asked if I could have Sunshine with me and just sit near and exit in case he started to fuss, and have Dearest stay back in the hotel with Lovebug. They yes and also thought about it and said actually Lovebug could come to the reception but just couldn't be at the ceremony, which is 100% understandable.

At the rehearsal dinner on Friday night, I had both boys with me. I felt like it was a pretty normal night for us, but apparently the bride and groom were so impressed they said that Lovebug could actually come to the ceremony, too! So that was a very cool proud parenting moment.

And then at the actual wedding they did so good! I did have to go stand near the door so that I could actively keep bouncing Sunshine (he was asleep but the officiant going quiet then speaking again was startling him) and Lovebug only barely started to get squirmy right at the end, so he was preemptively brought by me. The wedding ceremony was one of the most beautiful I've seen, and I'm so glad I got to attend!

At the reception, Sunshine slept in his wrap most of the way through, and Lovebug is a party animal just like his dad, so the four of us were able to dance for quite a while until Lovebug got sleepy around 9pm. My other cousin's girlfriend said that we were influencing everyone else to want to have kids because we made it look so easy and fun.

Overall just really proud of myself and Dearest and Lovebug especially for managing so well. Beyond not causing any disruptions or distractions, we were pretty well able to also enjoy ourselves, which are often mutually exclusive when you have such little guys.
