Future Plans for the Ouran AU
Now that episode 2 is done posting, I wanted to discuss what I'm probably gonna do with this au next, just in case anyone was curious.
I will not be doing the episodes in order, meaning the next episode will not be episode 3 of the series, mostly because I think that's kinda boring.
Under the 'read more' I've made a list of what episodes I probably will and won't want to write for this, and a brief explanation.
If you have an argument against one of my "no" or "maybes," or an idea entirely separate from the canon, let me know! I am open to ideas and suggestions!
Episode 1 + 2 -Already Done
3: Beware the Physical Exam: probably not. Not a lot of g/t potential until over halfway through, I don't wanna write that much set up and I'm sure y'all don't wanna read it
4: Attack of the Lady Manager: No. Barely any Haruhi and I'm just not a big fan of Renge
5: The Twins Fight: No. Good episode but idk how | would make it g/t
6: The Grade School Host is the Naughty Type: No. Not enough Haruhi
7: Jungle Pool SOS: Yes. Love this episode and I think it could be fun
8: The Sun, The Sea, and The Host Club: Yes 100%. I know it has that one scene but I've already thought of how to write around it. The other parts are just so good and would make awesome g/t moments
9: A Challenge from Lobelia Girls Academy: No. Haruhi with the giant Lobelia girls would be cool but I just don't really like this episode
10: A Day in the Life of the Fujioka Family: Maybe. I hvae a few ideas but there are also some logistical problems I'd have to work out first. I love Haruhi's dad and really want to introduce them into the story (with more respectful language of course)
11: Big Brother is a Prince: Yes! Absolutely! I want to make the little girl a human (maybe adopted by the Nekozowas to explain that) and I think her and Tamaki would be adorable. Plus it'd be great to have a human other than Haruhi in the story
12: Honey's Three Bitter Days: No. I like this episode but there's not enough g/t potential to make it worth writing
13: Haruhi in Wonderland: Maybe. Wonderland and g/t go hand in hand but I just don't know how I would make it unique
14: Covering the Famous Host Club: Kind of a yes/no. Right now the most I'd want to do is a one-shot of the club playing the games, and exclude the newspaper club storyline
15: The Refreshing Battle in Karuizawa: Maybe. The idea of the giant hosts entertaining people in a human town is really cool, but I'm just not sure about the logistics of it. Maybe it'll be a giant-human co-town or something idk.
16: Operation Haruhi and Hikaru's First Date: Yes Yes Yes this would be so adorable (plus Hikaru losing a tiny Haruhi in the storm would be so dramatic I love it)
17: Kyoya's Reluctant Day Out: Probably not. Just not a very interesting episode
18: Chika's 'Down with Honey' Declaration: Nah.
Thought about making Chika a Human but then decided against it
19: Lobelia Girls Academy Strikes Back: Maybe. I don't really care for the Lobelia girls but I do like the idea of a kidnapped Haruhi storyline
20: The Doors the Twins Opened: No. Haruhi is entirely absent, nothing would be different.
21: Until the Day it Becomes a Pumpkin: Yes. A good bit would probably be cut out but there are parts I think would be a lot of fun. Love me a good halloween special
22: Mori-Senpai has an Apprentice Candidate: Yes! I love love love Kasanoda and his interactions with Haruhi would be amazing, especially since she's not scared of him (might make his assistant guy a human too) (Haruhi could be Kasanoda’s “lovely item” lol)
23: Tamaki's Unwitting Depression: Maybe. Since this is a direct continuation of the last episode I'd probably just bundle parts of this into the ending of that story instead of writing the whole episode
24: And so Kyoya Met Him: No. Haruhi is absent
The final 2 episodes: No. At least, not for a long time.Seeing as this is the end of the show, I don't want to write myself into a corner and not be able to continue the way I want

Ouran’s Giant Host Club
Episode 2: Part 3
Part 1 Part 2
Alrighty! The final and my favorite part of this episode! I’m hoping to get at least one more episode done this month, but I’m too early in the writing process to know when that might be out.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported this story so far, I promise I will work to bring more as soon as I can
——————————————————
Soon enough, each of the giant hosts were with their guests, dancing gracefully to the charming music. Haruhi, on the other hand, stood by herself on a nearby countertop. She appreciated the bit of a break the party was giving her. It made sense why she had no dance requests yet; her tiny size didn’t exactly make her the ideal waltzing partner. Although, she occasionally spotted a few girls eyeing her from behind the pillars.
“Hello, Haruhi,” a voice drew the human’s attention. It was Kanako. “I’ve been looking all over for you,” she held her hand palm up in front of Haruhi, “Do you think, maybe, I could have this next dance?”
Haruhi smiled up at her, “Yeah, of course you can,” she said as she stepped onto the giant’s fingers, making her way to the center of the hand. Kanako brought her up level with her chest and started walking back to the main part of the hall. Not far from them, Honey gave Tamaki a signal. Tamaki nodded and sent another signal to Mori.
Before Haruhi could wonder how exactly their dancing was going to work, she felt huge fingers suddenly wrap around her, dragging her away from Kanako. The human was snatched right out of Kanako’s grasp with a yelp, leaving the giant girl to stare after them in a startled shock.
Out of reflex, Haruhi struggled against the strong hold, before a distressed glance upwards revealed that Mori was the one who grabbed her. She was brought into a separate room, where she, Mori, and Honey caught the end of a conversation.
“A little ‘accident’ towards the end of the night would be quite thrilling,” Kyoya remarked as Hikaru and Kaoru turned to the others.
“There she is!” the twins exclaimed as Honey giggled excitedly.
Haruhi got to her feet as Mori released her from the fist. Now standing in an open palm, the human turned to the tallest giant with her hands on her hips, “You didn’t have to be so forceful!”
She saw the ghost of an apologetic look on Mori’s face before she was grabbed up in another fist, this one far less gentle but still not enough to actually hurt her. With the human in hand, Hikaru knelt on the ground, setting Haruhi down on the floor.
“Nevermind that. We have a very important job for you.” The redhead handed her a rolled up paper a bit taller than she was, “We need you to sneak into the classroom across the hall and plant this note for Suzushima to find.”
Haruhi tried to pick up the paper but her hand slipped and dropped it. Though it was a bit heavy, it wasn’t so much the weight giving her trouble, but the size and shape that made the note awkward to try to hold. “I’m not sure I can make it all the way over there with this thing.”
Hikaru shrugged, “Okay, we can tie it to your back if you’d prefer,” he said, reaching again for his little clubmate.
Haruhi jumped back. “No! No, that’s okay. I can handle it,” she insisted. Having a bunch of giant string wrapped around her to secure the paper would be much worse.
She bent down to pick up the cumbersome letter, deciding to wrap both arms around one end and prop the other on her shoulder, kind of like a lumberjack carrying a log.
Meanwhile, Hikaru had stood back up. Haruhi felt her heart skip a beat as she stared up at him and the others. She didn’t stand on the floor of the school often, so it was easy to forget just how massive they were compared to her. Now, standing eye-level with their ankles, she had to crane her neck back as far as it would go to see up to the giants’ heads.
Her leaning along with a shift of the paper made her stumble back a few steps, but she managed to keep her footing. She knew by now that none of these giants meant her any harm, but it was hard to not feel goosebumps along her arms at their sheer size.
Thankfully, the giants didn’t seem to notice her nervousness.
“Suzushima is already waiting in the room, so try not to get spotted by him. We don’t want to mess up him and Kanako’s moment, afterall.” Kyoya instructed as Tamaki entered the room to join them.
Haruhi started to make her way out of the room through the door Tamaki was holding open. The huge letter made it a bit hard to walk, so Haruhi had to take clumsy, wobbling steps to not fall over. She heard subtle laughing behind her and Tamaki’s quiet squeal. She had no doubt that her classmates were currently enjoying her ridiculous walk, Tamaki especially finding it adorable, like everything else she did.
“Good luck, Haruhi!” the twins called as she grumbled under her breath.
The room she was heading towards was directly across the hall, so it thankfully wasn’t too far of a distance, and she managed to not drop the letter. The door was cracked open just enough for her to squeeze through. Just like Kyoya had said, Suzushima was standing at the far end of the room, lost in thought as he stared out the window.
There was a long table situated against the side wall, which Haruhi figured was where the note was meant to go. Sure enough, there was a little rope ladder hanging off the side of it all the way to the floor, no doubt set up by the boys beforehand.
You’ve got to be kidding me, Haruhi thought, looking between the ladder and the paper, There’s no way.
Regardless, she grabbed a part of it and started climbing.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t keep a hold of the letter and climb at the same time. Only a few rungs off the ground, her grip faltered, and the letter fell. In her instinctive lunge to catch it, Haruhi found herself falling as well. With a shout Haruhi slipped off the ladder.
Fortunately, she wasn’t too high up, and the large paper managed to break her fall, though it was definitely crickled now.
Unfortunately, Suzushima had heard the noise.
“Hello?” Haruhi froze at the voice. She scrambled up as Suzushima peered around the table, surprised to see the tiny host. “Oh! It’s you. What are you doing here?”
Haruhi blushed a bit at being caught so quickly. She picked the note back up and did her best to hold it out towards him. “I was told to give this to you.”
Suzushima knelt down, gently taking the paper from the little hands. He unrolled it, laying it on the floor next to Haruhi to try and smooth out the creases from her fall.
His eyes widened a bit at the message. “Um…” he said awkwardly.
Curious, Haruhi turned to read the note.
It was written in bright pink, sparkly ink, all caps, with little hearts drawn in every empty space. It read;
I’M IN LOVE-LOVE! FROM THE FIRST TIME I SAW YOU, I’VE BEEN HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE! IT’S LIKE MY HEART IS STUCK IN A NEVER-ENDING TYPHOON! ALL THESE FEELINGS OF LOVE KEEP WHIPPING AROUND IN MY HEART LIKE THE BREAKING WAVES! WHEN THE TYPHOON’S RISING WATERS COME, I WANT TO RENDEZVOUS WITH YOU ON NOAH’S ARK! I DO! I DO!
Haruhi made a face at the over-the-top writing. Who wrote such a stupid letter? She thought, though she had a pretty strong theory.
“I’m sorry,” Suzushima apologized as Haruhi turned back to him, “Whoever sent this, please tell them that I’m flattered, but I’m afraid I don’t feel the same way. You see, another girl already has my heart.”
“Oh,” Haruhi replied, taking a step towards him, “I didn’t know that you had a girlfriend.”
He looked down at his hands, his expression sad and distant .“Unfortunately, she’s not my girlfriend. In fact, I think she’s completely over me. In all honesty, she’d be happier with someone more self-confident than me. That’s why I decided I need to change.”
Suzushima looked back at the human with a bit of determination in his eyes. “So, I’m studying abroad. I want to see the world, and hopefully, become a better man. I know I should have told her, and I know it’s selfish, but I wonder if she’ll wait for me.”
Haruhi raised her eyebrows. “Yeah, you’re right. That is pretty selfish of you.”
Suzushima flinched at the unexpected insult.
Haruhi continued, “But maybe she would wait. You’ll never know if you don’t tell her how you feel. You obviously have strong feelings for her, so why not go ahead and just talk to her?”
She smiled up at the giant, “I think once you decide to change, then you’ve already begun your transformation.”
He smiled back before straightening at the sound of the door. Unexpectedly, Kanako walked in with Tamaki behind her.
Kanako gasped at the sight of Suzushima. She took a step towards him before freezing. “I- I’m so sorry. I can’t do this. I just…”
Shakingly, she turned and ran down the hallway, tears falling down her face.
“Kanako!” Suzushima yelled, jumping up and chasing after her.
Tamaki leaned down, offering a hand to Haruhi. As the human stepped on, she commented, “Looks like we just made matters worse.”
Tamaki chuckled, standing back up and walking out to the hallway. “But he did go running after her.”
After a moment of contemplation, Haruhi grinned.
It’s our responsibility, as members of the elite Ouran Host Club, to make every girl happy.
Kanako had made it outside before Suzushima caught up with her, grabbing her arm. Cherry blossoms fluttered around the two as a spotlight turned on, pointed right at them. They looked up at the staired balcony in surprise.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Tamaki announced, with the other club members around him and Haruhi perched on his shoulder. The other party members made their way outside as Tamaki continued, “It is now time for us to begin the final dance of this evening’s festivities.”
He gestured to Kanako and Suzushima. “The last waltz of the night has been chosen by the host club for… this couple.”
Suzushima let go of Kanako’s arm and took a deep breath. After steadying himself, he held his hand out to her, “Princess Kasuga… May I have this dance?”
The giant girl blushed, before sighing with relief. “Yes,” she answered, softly taking his hand in her own.
The Host Club smiled down at the two as they danced. Haruhi especially felt a sense of pride in the boy’s brave decision. Kanako looked as though she could fly.
“May this awkward couple be forever blessed!” Tamaki declared as he threw his arms out in a pose, forcing Haruhi to grab tight onto the collar of his suit to avoid being thrown off.
The twins came up beside him. “And now, we’ll announce the Queen of the ball!” Hikaru exclaimed. “Congratulations, Princess Kanako Kasugazaki!” Kaoru finished.
The audience applauded and the twins continued, “And for her reward, a kiss on the cheek from the King!”
Tamaki brought his hands up to his chin with a wink, “You ready?”
Kaoru interrupted him, “Haruhi Fujioka will stand in for Tamaki!”
Both Tamaki and his little passenger gasped at that, the jump of Tamaki’s shoulders causing Haruhi to stumble into the side of his neck, grabbing on for stability.
The twins shrugged mischievously at their shocked looks, “Kyoya did say that a little ‘accident’ towards the end of the night might make the evening more thrilling!”
Suzushima placed his hand on Kanako’s arm, “It’s just on the cheek, right? You should accept it. It will commemorate your graduation from host-hopping.”
Haruhi spun around to face Kyoya, eyebrows furrowed. “There’s no way I can kiss her.”
Without looking at the human, Kyoya replied, “If you do it, you can take some of the fancy tuna back home.”
“Well it is just a peck on the cheek,” Haruhi changed her mind surprisingly fast. She stepped off Tamaki’s shoulder onto Hikaru’s waiting hand.
Tamaki was white with shock as Hikaru made his way to the couple, Haruhi in tow.
Honey spoke up to the King, “Hey, you don’t think this is Haru-chan’s first kiss, do you?”
“What?!” Tamaki shouted with a gasp. As Hikaru held his hand, and Haruhi, next to Kanoko’s cheek, Tamaki ran towards them, desperate to stop it. “Wait Haruhi!”
Hikaru whipped his head around to the blonde with a cheshire grin and an evil spark in his eyes. Just as Haruhi leaned over to kiss Kanoko’s cheek, Hikaru moved his hand, pressing the human’s face into Kanako’s lips instead.
Tamaki froze, falling on his face in terror.
Kanako flinched back, and Haruhi tripped backwards into Hikaru’s palm. A bit of the girl’s lip gloss was stuck to her face, barely concealing her glowing red in embarrassment.
All of the guests squealed and cried at the incident. Kanako looked at Suzushima with worry, but he just chuckled.
I never would’ve thought I’d end up giving my first kiss to another girl, Haruhi thought as she wiped a bit of the lip gloss off with her hand. Tamaki reached towards her in tears. But it was such an amazing night. So I guess it’s just as well. She smiled.

Ouran’s Giant Host Club
Episode 2: Part 2
Previous Next (coming soon)
Here’s part 2! I love this chapter, it’s so much fun to me. (And I love the next one even more! I can’t wait to share it with y’all)
Next and last part will be out on Monday
—————————————————
Tamaki sat brooding in the corner, slurping some ramen. I can’t take this anymore, he thought as his eye twitched.
Hikaru rolled his eyes as he called out to his club leader. “Hey boss, why don’t you stop eating that commoners’ ramen and come over here to help us with the party planning?
All the other club members were gathered around (or on, in Haruhi’s case) a table in discussion. Kaoru joined his brother, “Does it really bother you that Princess Kasuga has taken a liking to Haruhi?
Kyoya typed away at his computer as he added, “He shouldn’t be surprised. She’s had the illness for a while now.”
“What illness?” Haruhi asked.
“She’s got the host-hopping disease,” Hikaru shrugged with some annoyance.
“AKA the never-the-same-boy-twice disease,” Kaoru finished.
“Usually,” Kyoya explained, “our customers choose a favorite host and then see them regularly. However, Princess Kanako tends to change her favorites,” the giant only spared Haruhi a second’s glance before returning to his work, “on a regular basis.”
“That’s right!” Honey shouted enthusiastically, causing Haruhi to cringe a bit from the loud sound. The little human took a few steps back as the boy made his stuffed bunny hop across the table, “Before she chose you, she was with Tama-chan!”
Haruhi looked over to Tamaki, “Oh, so he’s upset I took her from him?” Although she knew the giant girls found her and her size endearing, Haruhi never considered herself as competition to Tamaki, with how many young ladies would still swoon over him. Why does he even care that one guest chose me over him? He can’t be that self-absorbed, can he? She thought, despite knowing the answer good and well.
Tamaki ran over to the table and slammed his hands down on either side of Haruhi, shouting “Shut up!”
Although the impact and the volume made the tiny girl stumble, forcing her to grab the side of the giant’s hand to avoid falling over, she was a little surprised by the lack of fear she felt at the action. It seemed like she was finally getting used to the “king’s” theatrics.
“I couldn’t care less!” Tamaki continued. He pointed a finger at the little human. “I’m running out of patience! Haruhi! It’s time you started dressing like a girl!”
Haruhi tilted her head in confusion as Tamaki paced back and forth, his head in his hands. “I don’t understand how you could be so popular with the ladies when you’re not even big enough to hold their hands!”
But isn’t my size the reason you wanted me here in the first place? Haruhi thought with a roll of her eyes. My eyes are gonna roll right out of my head one of these days.
Tamaki rambled on, “Not to mention, you yourself are a lady! No one in the entire school knows the truth except for those of us here!”
“Yeah, she’s too small for the gym classes so she was allowed to opt out,” “and the attendance numbers are all mixed together, so no one can tell,” the twins added as Tamaki was digging something out of a chest labeled KING’S PRIVATE PROPERTY.
“That’s enough, Haruhi. Now you listen to Daddy,” Tamaki pulled out a large, framed photo of Haruhi from before attending Ouran, with long hair and a girl’s uniform, “Daddy wants you to go back to the way you were!”
“Don’t go blowing up my photos without asking me first!” Haruhi yelled in shock. The picture was enormous even compared to the giants. She noted that they could probably see her features more in that picture than they would ever see on her real face. Where did he even get that?!
The other boys huddled around the photo.
“The more I look at this picture, the more amazed I am,” Hikaru said as Tamaki continued to have a breakdown. “How could this,” the twin pointed at the picture, “possibly become that?” He pointed to Haruhi on the table.
“The day before school started, one of the kids in my neighborhood got some gum in my hair,” Haruhi explained, running her fingers over her head. “It’s a real pain to get gum out of long hair, so I decided to cut it all off. I didn’t care if I looked like a dude, you know?”
Tamaki groaned and rushed back to the table, scooping Haruhi into his hands with exacerbated tears in his eyes, “A girl should never refer to herself as a dude! Momma!” he shouted, looking back at the group of boys, “Haruhi’s using those dirty boy words again!” he cried, hugging the human to the side of his face.
“I’m sorry, but who is ‘Momma’?” Kauru asked.
Kyoya sighed, “Based on club position, I assume it’s me.”
Haruhi pushed away from the giant’s face, surprised when he actually moved her away. She stood up in Tamaki’s cupped hands, putting her own hands on her hips as she stared up at him, annoyed, “I don’t see what you’re crying about. Working as a host, I can pay you back more for your help. I’ll never work off my debt to you if you don’t let me do my job.”
Tamaki set her back on the table before sinking down to the ground in tears.
Hikaru stepped over him as he made his way to Haruhi. “I hate to change the subject but do you have formal dancing experience? You’ll need it at the party.”
“Uh, no…” Haruhi said as she chuckled nervously, “but the party doesn’t have anything to do with my quota, right? Besides, there won’t be anyone there that I could dance with.” Tamaki froze, peeking up at the table from his position on the ground. Haruhi took a few hesitant steps back from the looming giants. “I’m not interested in going to events, so if I could be excused…”
“Definitely not!” Tamaki shot back up to a stand, “A refined gentleman must know how to dance. If you want to live the life of a host that badly, you’re going to have to show us how far you’re willing to go, Haruhi,” he looked back at the human, “I order you to master dancing the waltz in one week, and you will demonstrate it for us at the party!”
In Tamaki’s mind theatre, he pictured Haruhi in a pretty little dress, dancing just for him. Like a tiny ballerina in a music box… Adorable! he thought, giddy at the idea. Hiding his excitement the best he could (which was not very well), he referred back to the human, “If not, I’ll tell the entire school that you’re a girl. You’ll get no more help from me, and you can kiss your chances at graduation goodbye!”
Haruhi felt her heart drop. She was in a debtor’s prison.
“Quick quick slow. Quick quick slow. Good work, Haruhi!” Princess Kanako said as she helped Haruhi practice. The difference in their sizes made it impossible for them to truly dance together, but they improvised. Haruhi stood on a table with her hands on the tips of Kanako’s fingers. “Now on the ‘slow,’ you should bring your feet together. Remember, the gentleman always leads.”
Kanako taught her the steps, sometimes nudging the small human with a knuckle to fix Haruhi’s stance or posture. Haruhi couldn’t help but feel like the giant was posing her like a doll, but she needed to learn this dance regardless, so she endured the slightly embarrassing treatment.
Kanako again tilted Haruhi’s head up with her finger as she giggled, “And make sure to look at the lady you’re dancing with.” Haruhi nodded as the giant’s hand moved back to the human’s.
“Got it,” Haruhi said as she continued the steps, resisting the urge to look down at her feet. Unfortunately, she tripped over her own ankle, falling with a “Woah!” She landed in Kanako’s palm as her face went bright red.
“I’m so sorry, Miss Kasugazaki,” Haruhi apologized, moving to get back up.
Kanako just giggled again and lifted the human up close to her face, “It’s okay, Haruhi.”
As this went on, Tamaki sulked in the window. The twins stared at him with smirks on their faces? “Why so gloomy, boss?” they asked before turning to each other, “I bet it’s because he wanted to be the one Haruhi practices with.” “I think you may be right, but Princess Kanako insisted, and he needs to practice with a lady anyway.”
At their words, the shadow enveloping Tamaki only grew darker.
As Kanako let Haruhi back down on the table, the human looked up at her with a smile, “Thank you so much for letting me practice with you. I really appreciate it.”
Kanako smiled back and put her chin on her hands, “Oh, no problem. I heard that you’re not seeing any customers today so that you can practice your dancing. I’m glad I got to spend this time alone with you.” The look in her eyes made Haruhi a bit suspicious, but before she could question it, Kanako changed the subject, noticing the teacups on the table.
“Oh my! This is a new tea set, isn’t it?” she said as she admired the cup, “It’s Ginori.” Just then, Haruhi noticed Kyoya walking over.
“Ginori?” Haruhi asked as she glanced up at the approaching giant.
“You have a keen eye, mademoiselle,” Kyoya said with a smile, “In fact, we just received them yesterday. We decided that it was about time for the club to update its tea sets.”
“I see. What a pretty color. Lovely,” the young lady remarked, and for the first time since she met her, Haruhi saw what seemed to be genuine joy in the giant girl’s expression. The sight made Haruhi smile too.
“You must really be into tableware, huh?” Despite the cup being big enough for Haruhi to fit in, she doubted she would be able to recognize any design as quickly as this girl could.
At Haruhi’s comment, the girl jumped. “Not really. I mean, no, of course not!” she said quickly, holding her hands up defensively, “What ever would give you that idea?”
The unexpected response unnerved Haruhi. She obviously knows a lot about it. Why would she lie?
There then came a knock on the music room door. A student walked in with a cart of fine tea sets. “Hello?” the young man called out into the room, “I’m here with the new teacups you ordered.”
At this, Haruhi noticed Kanako flinch, her hands wrapping tighter around her cup.
“Ah, thank you very much,” Kyoya responded, paying no mind to Kanako’s odd reaction. Haruhi wanted to ask the girl if she was okay, but as Kyoya continued talking with the boy, her soft voice was easily drowned out. “Every item that you’ve chosen for us has been extremely popular with the ladies. I’m quite impressed.”
The boy smiled. “Well that’s good to hear.”
Kanako tilted her head down further, her hair obscuring her expression. Haruhi took a few steps towards her, but the student paid no mind to the human in front of her hands. So instead, Haruhi turned to the new boy. “So, do you sell tea sets?”
After a small look of surprise at the human he hadn’t noticed before, the boy smiled again and clarified, “No, I’m just a regular student. Can’t you tell by the uniform?”
A sudden laugh from Kanako grabbed Haruhi’s attention, as well as the other giants’. The girl was looking back at the human with that fake smile returned to her face. “Oh Haruhi, you’re so funny,” she said, “I can’t blame you for not knowing. After all, he doesn’t really look like an heir to a first class company.”
“First class company?” Haruhi questioned, before looking at the mystery boy’s face, surprised at the shock in his eyes.
“His family’s business,” Kyoya explained, “the Suzushima Trading Company deals primarily in the importing of tableware. They currently have the top market share in the country.”
None of the others were listening to his explanation. Kanako’s expression broke a bit at the look on the boy’s face. She averted her eyes, seeming almost… ashamed.
Kyoya continued uninterrupted, “So, whenever something exceptional comes in, we’ve asked him to send it our way. He has a great eye for fine china, don’t you, Suzushima?”
Haruhi looked back and forth between the two giant’s faces. The boy quickly referred back to Kyoya at his words, a sheepish grin growing on his lips.
“You think?” he chuckled, “I’ve still got a lot to learn, but thank you.”
“Aren’t you leaving next month to study abroad in England?” Kyoya asked. Haruhi saw Kanako’s hand curl into a fist on the table, shaking slightly. Although that fist was big enough to hold the human’s entire body, it still hurt Haruhi to see the pain in the giant’s posture.
“Yes I am,” Suzushima answered slowly, “Well, I’d better go now.” He sent one more glance to the girl, then left without another word.
Haruhi turned back to Kanako. “I get the feeling you and that guy are kinda close.”
At her words, Kanako jumped. Her knees hit the underside of the table, knocking Haruhi off her feet and onto her back. She stared up at the giant in surprise as Kanako waved her hands frantically.
“Don’t be ridiculous! We hardly know each other! What makes you say that Haruhi?”
Before the human could answer, Kanako sprung to a stand, her stance nervous. “Now, if you’ll please excuse me. Take care,” she said as she quickly shuffled out of the room.
Haruhi has barely gotten her feet back under her, contemplating the girl’s reaction, when Honey-Senpai grabbed her from behind, eliciting a shout from the human.
Honey hugged the tiny host to the side of his face while excitedly exclaiming, “Haruh-chan! Guess what? They do know each other! Suzushima is Kasuga-chan’s fiance!”
Haruhi’s heart was still racing as Honey moved his hands to hold her out in front of him. Tamaki crossed his arm at his clubmate, “Kyoya, how long have you known about this?”
“About the two of them being engaged?” Kyoya questioned, “Well, I conduct general searches on all of our customers.” He pulled out a large binder, flipping to the page with both Kasuga’s and Suzushima’s photographs. Each had a brief description written underneath.
“The 2 of them were childhood friends. It seems their engagement was arranged by their parents. I didn’t think the information would benefit us, so I disregarded it.” he explained as he set the binder down on the table for the other club members to see. Haruhi walked over to get a better look at Suzushima’s pictures as Kyoya continued. “Toru Suzushima… Outstanding grades, fair social status. He’s ordinary looking, but he’s reliable. If I had to fault him for anything-”
Haruhi did a quick double-take on this surprising turn of judgement towards the boy. The twins joined in with Kyoya. “He doesn’t have much presence” - “and he’s faint hearted,” they criticized.
Kyoya grabbed one end of the binder, prompting Haruhi to take a step back. “So in other words, he’s boring,” he said as he quickly snapped the binder closed.
Haruhi raised her eyebrows at the unexpected animosity. I had no idea they were so merciless toward other guys. She’d hate to know what they thought of her back when they believed she was a boy. Although, they probably still didn’t see me as much of a threat.
“Alright everyone.” Tamaki spoke up, “We’ll have to work on our strategy.”
“Which one?” The club members asked in unison.
Tamaki looked up at them with determination in his eyes, “Men, it is our responsibility, as members of the elite Ouran Host Club, to make every girl happy!”
It was time for the party!
The sunset was falling over Ouran High, casting the picturesque walls and cherry blossoms in a beautiful glow. Inside the ballroom, the chandeliers sparkled as the orchestra played their elegant music. The host club stood atop the brilliant ivory staircase as Tamaki greeted the party goers.
“It is so good to see you here tonight, my little lambs. The Ouran host club would like to bid you welcome,” he bowed as the spotlight illuminated the banquet hall.
Kyoya joined in with a charming voice, “As always ladies, the host club is here for your entertainment. So we invite you to dance to your heart’s content.”
The guest applauded as the rest of the members bowed as well, except for Haruhi. Kyoya especially had wanted her to make an appearance during the introduction, but she declined, arguing that the guests would barely be able to see her from so far anyway. Instead of just letting her sit it out on the sidelines like she wanted, Hikaru had snatched her up, stuffing her in the front pocket of his vest and walking out to his spot on the stairs. She had fought at first, yelling “Hey! Let me out! This isn’t fair!” but as soon as the lights lit up and Tamaki started his announcements, she realized there was no point. So, she crossed her arms, resigned to her fate, with a stir of frustration in her chest.
Kyoya finished, “Based on her dancing skills, one lucky young lady will be chosen as tonight’s Queen. The Queen’s reward will be a passionate kiss on the cheek from our King.”
“Good luck to you,” Tamaki said with a charming wink, “my darlings.”
Haruhi huffed at the dramatic swooning from the girls over Tamaki. She felt a rough jab at her side from outside the pocket as she saw the top open up. The twins stared down at her with glares at her defiance.
Haruhi spoke up before either of them could make a retort, “What was the point of grabbing me like that if I was just gonna be out of sight anyway?”
“All club members have to stay together during the opening announcements. Our guests are counting on our being present,” Kauru chastised.
“Yeah,” Hikaru agreed, “so either stop the whining or you can stay in there all night. I’m sure some girls will get a kick out of the sight of you defeated by a pocket.”
Haruhi grabbed the plaid fabric to pull herself up as far as she could, just a little above the pocket’s edge.
Before she could yell back at the redhead, Kyoya interrupted them. “Alright boys, that’s enough. Let her out. She’ll have her own guest to attend to, afterall.”
Hikaru grumbled as he hooked a couple fingers around his tiny classmate and pulled her out, setting her on the palm of his other hand. The twins both frowned at the scowl still on her face.
“C’mon Haruhi, show some enthusiasm.” They both said.
Haruhi felt her eyebrows twitch as she crossed her arms, sitting criss-cross in Hikaru’s grasp. “Well excuse me you guys. Sorry, I’m not used to this sort of thing. I’ve only ever gone to the festivals held in my neighborhood park.”
The twins grimaced, to the human’s annoyance. Even Kyoya creased his eyebrows, “I don’t know if you can really consider that a party or not.”
Before Haruhi could snarkily respond, the giant continued “well, while we wait for the dancing portion of the party to start, you might as well get yourself something to eat. We’ve got quite a spread.”
That caught Haruhi’s attention as she stood up. “A spread?” she looked down at the palm she was standing on, lightly scratching her chin. “With fancy tuna?” she asked hesitantly.
She saw each of the other club members jump at that. “Fancy tuna?!” they all exclaimed in unison.
In a flash Tamaki took charge, “Get some fancy tuna here right now!” he commanded as he pointed at Kyoya, who was already on the phone. “And some deluxe sushi,” the vice-president added.
The twins held her close to their faces in an awkward group hug as they cooed over the human’s request. Haruhi’s face burned bright red. She hated the fact that, no matter how she tried, they seemed to find everything she did ‘cute.’
Damn these filthy rich jerks.

Ouran’s Giant Host Club
Episode 2: Part 2
Previous Next

Ouran's Giant Host Club Episode 2
The Job of a High School Host
Episode 1
Guess who finished with their finals and finally got to finish this! I had so much fun writing this one, and I really really want to get at least 1 more episode written before summer ends. This is part 1/3 of the 2nd episode. Part 2 will be out on Saturday. I hope y'all enjoy!
--------------------------------------------
The Ouran library. A quiet building on the school grounds with the largest collection of books Haruhi had ever seen. Books on every subject you could ever imagine. This should be Haruhi’s favorite place in school, but…
As Haruhi went to turn to the next page in her book, a giant’s hand passed above and turned the page for her.
“Senpai,” Haruhi groaned, exasperated. She craned her neck up to Tamaki, who was sitting at her table, directly behind where she was standing. “I can turn the pages myself.”
“I don’t mind,” Tamaki smiled. The book was made for giants, so it was easily a dozen times bigger than Haruhi was, and it had to be propped up so she could read without standing on the pages. Normally, she would insist on studying alone, but she didn’t bother fooling herself. She wasn’t strong enough to open any of the hardcover textbooks, let alone get them off the shelves. As much as she hated to admit it, she needed Tamaki’s help, again. And the prick was enjoying every second of it. Haruhi felt her eye twitch in frustration at the stupid smile Tamaki had, looking down at her from where his head was propped on his hand. Does this guy ever go to his own classes?
As Haruhi turned and sat back down in front of the pages, Tamaki couldn’t help the huge grin he had as he stared at the little human, reading a book with letters as big as her hand. She was just so adorable.
Haruhi hated having the giant staring down at her, so she tried to focus on her textbook. It was difficult though, and not just because of the staring. Haruhi tried to pull her uniform’s blazer tighter around her as a shiver went down her body. Winter had just ended, but it still felt freezing outside to Haruhi. The school had a good heating system, but her skin and jacket were much thinner than the giants’, so the cold of the building affected her a lot more. Tamaki must have noticed, because just as another chill went down Haruhi’s arms, she felt a giant palm press lightly against her side, the fingers curling in just enough to not block the pages of her book.
She glanced up at Tamaki with a frown. “I’m fine, Senpai. You don’t have to do that,” she grumbled as she scooted away from the warm hand.
Tamaki just chuckled and moved his hand back against Haruhi’s side. “I know.”
Haruhi just sighed and resigned herself to leaning against the boy’s palm. At least it wasn’t as cold anymore.
10 short minutes later, a bell rang out across the school. Tamaki wasted no time in gathering the books and scooping Haruhi up into his hands. Haruhi grabbed onto one of his fingers to keep herself from toppling over from the sudden movements. She grumbled to herself out of principle, but she couldn’t fault Tamaki for that. She doubted he even realized how much the movement affected her as he rushed to the club room.
Once she got her bearings she called up to Tamaki, “What’s going on, Senpai? I know you love the club but this is a lot of excitement, even for you.”
“I’ve got a special surprise waiting for our guests,” he lightly nudged her little shoulder, “You’re gonna love it!”
Haruhi held on tight as Tamaki practically sprinted down the hallways. The movement was disorienting, but at least the trip was quicker than normal. Before she knew it, they had arrived at the door.
Though Tamaki wanted to fling the doors open in his eagerness, he controlled himself enough to open the door slowly for a more dramatic reveal.
The clubroom was completely jungle themed. There were trees covering nearly the entire room, enough so that the walls couldn’t be seen. Many of the trees were real, Haruhi noted, but most of the other plants were not, instead being scaled-up versions of tropical flora, assumedly to match with the giants and their visitors.
Her eyes widened as she saw a huge snake slither its way up one of the tree trunks, before quickly realizing that it was also fake, some sort of robotic contraption. She felt the tension leave her shoulders. At least they have some reasonable safety in mind, she thought. Though she wouldn’t put it past them to have some real animals in the clubroom, at least these ones didn’t pose her any threat.
Finally, she noticed her clubmates. As Tamaki took a few steps into the room, the rest of the boys greeted them with a synchronized, “Welcome!” as flower petals fluttered around them. Each of them had on a unique, Bali-inspired outfit that seemed much too revealing to offer them any resistance against the cold. With this thought, however, Haruhi noticed that the room was considerably warmer than anywhere else she had been that day.
In her confusion, Haruhi barely took note when Tamaki set her down on a long, wooden table, is this a tiki bar?, and ran off, presumably to change into his own costume.
The twins looked down at her with mock disappointment. “You two finally made it. Haruhi, you’re so late.”
Haruhi’s eye twitched as she answered, “My study period just ended, and I could be wrong, but my calendar says it’s still early spring.”
At that, Tamaki slid back in the room, now donning a “Bali King” costume to match with the others. “Hiding under a kotatsu table fearing the cold is nonsense,” he said with a proud grin, “and besides, the heating system we have is the best.” Haruhi groaned at his obnoxious display.
“Do you have a problem with the way we run our club, Haruhi?” Kyoya asked without looking away from his clipboard, “Be careful what you say; you’re relying on us to make it to graduation, remember?”
Haruhi flinched at the brief, intimidating glance Kyoya sent her. Even if the snakes were real, the host club’s vice president would still be the scariest thing there.
She decided to focus back on Tamaki, looking him up and down while not-so-subtly judging his flowy, revealing clothing. Tamaki noticed her attention and took out a fan, striking another pose with it.
“Gentlemen don’t bundle up in bulky clothing,” he declared as the twins struck their own poses around him. A loud laugh from Honey made Haruhi realize that he and Mori were now running around the room. “It may be chilly early spring out there in the real world, but here at the club, we want to surprise our chilly little kittens,” Tamaki mussed up Haruhi’s hair with a gentle fingertip, which she tried to push away, “with a warm, tropical paradise!”
Before Haruhi could get her footing back from the ruffling, Tamaki swept her up to his chest in another princely stance. Haruhi hated being dragged into poses like that.
Tamaki took no notice of Haruhi’s discomfort. “Oh, yes! We’ve turned this place into Nirvana,” he continued as the human tried to push away from him, “A balmy, tropical island of everlasting summer!” He was holding Haruhi right up against the golden collar of his robe, and the metal made her even colder than before, ironically defeating Tamaki’s claimed purpose of the room’s set up.
“That’s funny ‘cause I feel a massive chill right now.” And she wasn’t talking about the temperature.
She jumped as an animatronic chameleon suddenly shot its tongue out into the air. Tamaki noticed and chuckled, curling his fingers a bit more around her. Haruhi was getting very sick of this club very fast.
THE HOST CLUB IS NOW OPEN FOR BUSINESS
Haruhi stood on the Tiki Bar, looking out to the other members and their guests. She had no scheduled appointments for that moment, so she didn’t have much to do. Tamaki had offered her a human-sized chair, but she declined, not wanting to see what kind of cutesy furniture Tamaki had purchased for her.
To the human’s dismay, Kyoya did not have any scheduled meetings at the time either, and so stood right next to the bar. He barely acknowledged her presence as he scribbled something down onto his clipboard, but she was still no more comfortable around the giant.
“I see you watching the others, Haruhi.” She flinched as Kyoya suddenly addressed her. So he did realize I was here. Awesome, she thought sarcastically.
“That’s clever of you,” Kyoya continued. “Observational learning will ideally help you raise your request rating.”
Haruhi couldn’t help a small scoff at that. “What am I supposed to learn from these guys?” She said, crossing her arms and turning her head away from the giant.
At her words, Kyoya stopped writing. He lowered his pencil to the human, using the eraser to angle her head back towards the other club members.
Haruhi’s breath caught in her throat as the pencil forced her to look where Kyoya wanted her to.
“Just watch.” He said in a slightly demanding tone. “Attaining different strategies can help you appeal to a wider range of guests.” Haruhi hesitated on the thought of disobeying him. He really was terrifying, though she couldn’t even tell if he meant to be that way.
She watched Tamaki first. He was with 3 ladies, all already thoroughly enraptured by his princely attributes and poetic words.
“What heartlessness,” he said elegantly, “Even with my lustrous skin shining like brilliant ivory, exposed by my Balinese king outfit, I am no more than a slave before my goddess. I kneel before you and swear my loyalty.” He leaned in close to one of the girls, holding her chin delicately as her face burned red.
“Tamaki…” she swooned.
“Lucky…” the other girls mumbled with adoration in their eyes.
Haruhi rolled her eyes at the boy’s antics. Even without the size difference in the way, Haruhi didn’t think she could ever be that physical with any of her guests. The mental image of her even attempting that, especially at her size, was nothing short of ridiculous to her.
She was pulled out of these thoughts as Tamaki continued. “Oh, yes, I almost forgot to mention to you ladies. Next week, the Ouran Host Club is sponsoring a party.”
Haruhi looked up at Kyoya in confusion, “We’re throwing a party?”
Before Kyoya could respond, both of their attentions were taken by another guest speaking up to Hikaru and Kaoru. “What kind of party is it going to be? Is it going to be formal?” she asked.
“Yes,” Hikaru answered casually, “In fact, we’ve rented the school’s largest hall.”
“It’s the perfect place for dancing,” Kaoru finished.
Then, Hikaru leaned in close to the other boy, practically draping himself over where his brother was sitting. “But I really wanted to spend some alone time with you, Kaoru.” Kaoru blushed slightly. “Don’t be upset, Hikaru. I know exactly how you feel.”
They seem to flirt with each other more than with the girls. Haruhi thought with a grimace. Weird… She knew they were just acting for their guests, but it was still a strange sight to see. The ladies seem to enjoy it though, as they chattered excitedly at the boys.
Haruhi turned back to Kyoya, “The guests seem to be even more worked up than they usually are.”
“Showing some skin proves popular with the ladies.” He said with a noncommittal expression.
“So, are you the one who came up with this ‘tropical paradise’ idea?” Haruhi asked accusingly. This idea was dumb enough to be Tamaki’s, but she felt it was working too well to be solely his doing.
“I have no decision making authority,” he said, going back to writing, “All of the club’s policies have been laid out by the club’s king, Tamaki.”
“But,” he glanced sideways at the human with a small grin, “I guess there’s no harm in admitting to casually slipping a Bali photo book onto his desk.”
Haruhi furrowed her eyebrows. So, he’s the real brains behind the operation. It seemed Kyoya had even more power that Haruhi had given him credit for. The thought unnerved her slightly.
Suddenly, a loud, youthful voice proclaimed “Ta-da!”
Haruhi looked to see Honey with a lei around his neck, showing it off to the girls at his table.
“Oh, you’re so cute, Honey!” they cooed over him accordingly. That excited smile that never seemed to completely leave the boy’s face widened.
“Hi, ladies!” he greeted. “I love these Balinese flowers. We had them flown in!”
Soon, his companion arrived with some fruit for the guests. “Takashi!” Honey exclaimed, rushing up Mori’s side to place an identical lei around his neck before hugging onto his shoulder. “There! We match!” The girls swooned and ‘awwwwed’ at the sight.
I’m still thoroughly confused by the two of them, Haruhi thought. She turned to look up at Kyoya again to ask him what exactly she was supposed to learn from all this, before being interrupted by another voice joining them.
“Um, Haruhi?” one giant girl asked, having walked up to the tiki bar with another girl without the human noticing.
They were standing so close, Haruhi had to strain her neck a bit to look up to their faces. She took a few steps back before turning fully towards them.
“Aren’t you going to wear a tropical outfit like the other boys?” the young lady finished her question.
“Yeah, I’d like to see that!” the other chimed in.
Haruhi held her hands out awkwardly, blushing a bit. “Oh, well, no I… I just don’t think it’s appropriate to wear anything but early spring attire in early spring, y’know?” She hated the idea of wearing something with so little cover. Not to mention, even with the heating system, Haruhi knew she would get chilly in such a bare outfit.
Just then, Tamaki appeared. “But we have one ready for you, Haruhi! I think you’ll like it!” He exclaimed as he held up a tiny mannequin with a Balinese queen costume, matching his own kingly attire, “You and I are a pair!”
Haruhi hated that idea even more.
“No thanks,” she said flatly. What was this guy even thinking? What was the point of pretending she’s a boy if Tamaki kept insisting on dressing her up like a girl’s doll?
“Wow Haruhi,” one of the girls giggled, “you’re really faithful to the different seasons, aren’t you?” Thankfully they didn’t seem too upset that the little human wouldn’t match with the theme.
“I think that’s great!” another said, “I hope we’re lucky enough that the cherry blossoms are in full bloom on the night of the party.
“Imagine dancing among the cherry blossoms,” the girl blushed with her eyes closed, lost in her own fantasy, “It’s so dreamy.”
“You really think so?” Haruhi said with a smile, oddly elated to see the girls so happy. “You know, ladies, I think it’s so cute when you dream like that.”
The butterflies in the girls’ stomachs matched the ones fluttering around the room as they stared down at the host. She looked so tiny compared to everything on the bar, and their eyes shone with adoration. Haruhi really was a promising rookie, whether she chose to realize it or not.
Another young woman then joined them. “Excuse me,” she said politely, “I hate to disturb, but I believe I have an appointment.”
“Oh, I’m sorry,” Haruhi apologized, “You must be my first client, Miss… um…”
“My name’s Kanako. Kanako Kasugazaki” she finished for her. Although she wore a kind smile, there was a strange, distant look in her eyes that Haruhi couldn’t help but notice, especially since the giant’s eyes were bigger than the human’s head.
The young lady sat down at the tiki bar. She put a finger under Haruhi’s chin, gently tilting the little head up to look at her.
“You’re even cuter than I expected,” Kanako said as she leaned in close. “I’ve decided. From now on, you’re going to be my new favorite host, Haruhi.”
Despite the girl’s face taking up nearly all of her vision, Haruhi managed to notice Tamaki’s double take at Kanako’s comment.

Ouran's Giant Host Club Episode 2
The Job of a High School Host
Episode 1 Next

A new Plaidified Fairytale emerges: The Princess and the Frog <3
There's a specific type of awkward conversation I was going for that I typically see in shows and movies, and I realized some vibes are hard to capture in a still frame with just text lol.
Anyway, meet Makena (human woman) the amphibian enthusiast, and Amber the tiny prince (fairy man) :)
Here's a goofy/non-serious comic that hints at more of their story (I got a sense of deja vu while drawing this second comic, but I can't for the life of me figure out who they remind me of...):

I just found a great g/t short film!
It's called Kanini and Kanino, in the collection "Modest Heroes" on Netflix (also on YouTube). It gives off major Borrower vibes!
Its about a race of tiny people who live under water. After an incident, a brother and sister have to survive on their own.
It is freaking great and I wish there was more of it. If you love the Borrowers, you should watch it!
