Destination information - JAPAN

Japan is becoming a really hot destination for tourists! Between the Sakura season (cherry blossom), the incredible ski and the culture any time of the year, everyone seems to be heading to Japan so I thought I would share a little information and a little personal experience for having lived there with you!
Tokyo
Tokyo is the capital of Japan. With 13,929,286 people living in the capital alone, you will never be looking for entertainment. Between the house of the Emperor, gorgeous gardens, delicious food everywhere and the gaming/anime district you will never be bored.
I’d recommend staying near one of the big metro stations as it is so efficient and so cheap! Taxis are the most expensive you’ll ever take in the world.
I lived in Akihabara, gaming and anime district and I loved every bit of it! 14 story tall shopping centres, food courts everywhere, Michelin restaurants easily accessible if you are feeling fancy, golf on the rooftop (highly recommend – so much fun), go kart dressed up as Mario Kart through the busy streets of Tokyo.
Shinjuku is another really popular area to stay in – and what would be better than to stay at the hotel which lodges GODZILLA. Yep GODZILLA! The Gracery is indeed a gorgeous property and quite a land mark!
If you are into Anime, they have a few great museums and so many places to go and just read.
Sapporo and Hakuba
Sapporo and Hakuba are two of the most popular skiing destinations in Japan. Some of the best snow in the world in those regions! I skied in Hakuba personally and I can vouch for this statement!
Kyoto
Cultural capital of Japan, Kyoto is like traveling in time! Tiny narrow street, people dressed up as Samurai and Geisha, some of the best food you could taste. Gorgeous river passing through and pristine parks around. Kyoto will not disappoint!
You can travel pretty much anywhere in Japan by train. Efficient, clean, punctual and so practical it is quite a scenic way to travel through.
I’d recommend checking out Hiroshima as well. The memorial will bring tears to your eyes and is really really instructive! Okinaway and Amami-Soto are also two gorgeous little islands I would recommend checking out!
Japanese are some of the most polite, helpful and generous people I’ve met through my travel. They will make you feel welcome in their amazing country!

Destination information - BORNEO

I don’t usually share my personal pictures and things but I just came back from Borneo and it was amazing! It’s a bit of an "unknown" place and people tend to have that misconception that it is expensive so I thought (because it’s you!) I would share: I did the Intrepid trip called “Sabah Adventure” (Malaysian Borneo is cut in two areas, Sabah and Sarawak) https://www.intrepidtravel.com/au/malaysia/sabah-adventure-125336. It was amazing.
I climbed Mt Kota Kinabalu, got lucky and didn’t get altitude sickness, got to have a very close encounter with wild Orangutans, sea turtles and some amazing interaction with the locals! It was unbelievable. And last but not least, got to walk where the POW did their death match (I cried - what an emotional place), history is great and we should all learn a little more about what our ancestor went through to give us the lives we have today.
Borneo is the birth place of some really rare wildlife. Proboscis monkeys, Ourangutans, Pigmy elephants, butterflies without ends, Thornbill bird, ... what a treat!
All year round laying egg grounds for the sea turtles with program to help their conservations. I can tell you that much, have to help a baby turtle going the wrong way and put him in the ocean made me feel like a TURTLE HERO! Those little guys have a tough start, and with our polution a though life all the way but what a treat than to witness their first steps!
Food is delicious (I hate way too much!!) and really cheap! People are gorgeous and welcoming. Alcohol is expensive but except that, what a bargain!
If you have any questions about the country, please let me know. In the meantime, while I was at the airport I made a little recap video which you can view by clicking on this link https://gopro.com/v/KRyJ623o79wNJ and here are some of the amazing shots of wildlife I took over there:

Weird to start a blog at 28 but here I go ... New Year New Experience right?!
My name is Tiphanie and welcome to 4T!
I’m a travel agent and I work at Flight Centre but I don’t speak for the company or the brand ... it’s all ME.
Tiph’s travel tips and tricks comes from a simple comment given to me by a friend (or let’s call him that - 2 bumble dates and then radio silence isn’t quite an official description yet!) who suggested that I share my insights on travel, destinations, deals out there etc with a wider audience than my customers who already receive it on a monthly basis and seem to LOVE it!
I’ll try to post as often as possible ... I usually do a monthly newsletter but I understand that this won’t be anywhere near enough for here.
Hope you enjoy the content, please let me know what you think and what you would like to know about.
Until next post xoxo your travel girl
