josef essentially has OSDD

his alter is his fursona

i'm kidding. mostly

his alter - peachfuzz - is an embodiment of his darkest desires + his desperate need for attention and love

peachfuzz is like the "mother" to josef's norman bates

josef has somewhat of a toxic, intimate bond with peachfuzz

peachfuzz seems jealous of anyone who threatens to steal josef's attention from him

peachfuzz wants josef all to himself, so they can spend forever doing what they love most - murder and making movies of said murders

but josef is constantly fighting with that darker part of himself because he desperately craves human connection

he falls in love so easy

he becomes obsessed with anyone he feels in sync with - even if this perceived connection isn't reciprocated

which might explain why he appears so frustrated every time his victims fail to understand him on a deeper level

he really wants to be understood and loved for the bizarre person he is - murderous tendencies, peachfuzz and all

but he also wants to keep killing, i guess?? he loves the thrill and the artistry of his passion (murder)

he's entirely too dependent on peachfuzz to survive

because at the end of the day, peachfuzz is the only one who gets him. since peachfuzz is a part of him

peachfuzz has apparently been with him for most of his life

he cannot function without him

in fact, it seems like josef can't function on his own at all

which also explains his obsessive need for attention and love

and might also explain why he mentions "consuming" parts of his victims' "spirits"

he likes to connect - even if it happens through killing. but also killing is fun ig??

and if these are all fair assumptions to make (i could be way off base), this would also explain why he subconsciously references aaron and sara as often as he does

they were the only people he felt really understood him outside of peachfuzz
