Hey, It's Been A While

Mercy hasn't been posting at the rate she's used to, for better and for worse. Better because she hasn't posted as many copies/traces as she used to, worse because... well she still does it sometimes.

She still picks and chooses who she credits. The pattern possibly being crediting those who have confronted her via dms (Sirfluff and Omgeevee3) and neglecting to credit those who have publicly posted about her (Dilnyan and Doughguts). Most of it involves reposts, but the new art has already been passed to the actual owners.

This is all being shared today because I've decided the new traces are enough to talk about again. It's like a recharging battery, a little charge isn't enough to get me to post, but if she charges the arbitrary meter fully, I'll post.

We have a traces of Sirfluff's art again. and potentially claiming Sirfluff's oc, Custard her own. That in itself is a whole rabbit hole I've been avoiding. Mercy really likes Custard and is constantly cycling between directly calling Custard her own oc, claiming to make "kinsonas" of Custard and crediting Sirfluff, and just calling her art of those previous copies 'Fanart" for Custard/Sirfluff. I would have made a post about this, but it's happened so many times (and I didn't catch the start of it) that I feel it'll be less solid than the other Copy Claims. Just know it's happening and keep it in your mind for now.

She also heavily referenced poses and traced the face of a Bill Ciper Human Design by Donniipao. This wouldn't have been bad if Mercy had credited the person, or shown proof in any way that this artist had approved her referencing, but she didn't do that so it's included here.

Mercy's image pile for the Art Moot post contains another copy of Morbiun, a character owned by Sirfluff she has previously claimed as her own. Because she talks about designing ocs in this post (without crediting Sirfluff) it seems like another case of claiming Morbiun as her original oc.

Lastly, This is unrelated to Mercy's streak of Tracing/Copying, but I am curious to other's input. I don't want to accuse Mercy of creating a piece of Racist art without input from other, more knowledgeable voices.

The "The Silliest" Copy

The Silliest is a character created by Sirfluff, now owned by Omgeeve3 (on his alt, Milkwortmallow). Sirfluff made this character for a Symprite raffle event, and after a user (AcidSparkz) won, the character exchanged hands through trades and eventually found it's home with Omgeeve3.

Now onto the theft:

This is a copy in similar quality to the Dammy Copy or the Nugget Copy, where Mercy does make minor changes to the design in an attempt to come off as more original. That being said:

She is still clearly attempting to use the original character without credit/permission as her own, and the changes are not enough to cover her tracks.

Whenever Mercy claims to have changed her behavior, it usually takes less than a month for her to prove that untrue. Though as always

So, Mercy posted about this blog. Let's talk about it.

I personally was not able to see the whole thread (as part of it was deleted ~2 hours after posting), but I was passed some earlier screenshots, so I will be referencing those as well as the current thread. I will use this post to break down everything that concerns this blog, mercy's character theft, and her tracing.

Post 1

Your bio said "don't use my art without permission", that much is true. You have no problem taking other's art and using it, though. The difference between us is that I credit you, and am not intending to use your art to bolster my following, or receive free art from people who don't know any better.

I feel it's very disingenuous to use other's art or characters without credit, and then complain when others are using your art (with credit).

You showed a picture of this blog and sharing your opinions, and I am doing the same to you. I can also make the argument that I am using your art under fair use, as I am criticizing these works and your claims that they are wholly original to you. I am using your work in a transformative manner, to warn others of your thefts.

It is not my intention to make you feel unsafe, I do not wish to send harassment your way, and I say as much in every post. I doubt you have any ground to stand on if you were to file a police report. I am sorry you feel threatened by this blog, but this blog would not exist if you had stopped claiming people's art and characters as your own whenever you restart.

Post 2

Neither I nor the other person who gave me the screenshots realized we didn't have this post saved before it was deleted. I will not put words in Mercy's mouth without evidence, so I have nothing to say for this section.

Post 3

Like I said, I do not want harassment directed towards Mercy, so I am deliberately censoring her current username. This is a bit of a jumbled post, but I'll do my best to parse out her points.

Lou is one of Mercy's ex friends, and as previously shown, she has traced from his work. Lou pointing that out isn't making her "the bad guy" in any way. Mercy is the bad guy because it is generally understood that tracing people's art without their permission, stealing characters from other artists, and claiming it all as your own is in poor taste. The victims are not at fault for expressing their upset and trying to inform others about said wrongdoings.

People change, yes. But this blog has shown before that even when Mercy claims that she has changed, she hasn't! This is a post from December 2024, and she has continued to copy people's characters and trace since! And yes, that is the next part of the sentence. Follow me here.

She claims she doesn't care, but she clearly does by making these posts defending herself and claiming she has changed. She cares about her image as this creative artist, so whenever someone says "hey you're stealing" she gets upset because it breaks the facade she's tried to create for herself. She wouldn't have to do all this if she just stuck to original works.

And by all means, Mercy does make some art that is neither traced nor of a copied character, and that part is commendable. But she is posting it along with still tracing art and copying characters! If a person was making brownies, and mixed a cup of dog poop into the mixture, you wouldn't want to eat the brownies, right? Hell, it's still brownies, but the fact that some of it is dog poop is still a problem. Mercy's copied characters and traced art is the dog poop in this analogy. I am not criticizing her posting non-traced art and non-copied characters. It is only an issue when she keeps publishing traced art and copied characters

Even then, after yesterday's post pointing out one traced artwork, I was notified that I had missed a bunch more. I'd argue that in this last "restart", Mercy's brownies contained very little actual brownie, if I were were to continue the analogy.

Post 4

"I mean who doesn't put dog poop in brownies sometimes?" - Mercy /j

But seriously, this just makes Mercy look worse. She said in her last post that she's changed, and that she's making new art, but for some reason she's also saying that she can still trace people's art because... she made one original picture with a speedpaint.

Again, no one is criticizing her original work. The artwork shown was cute. But again, it's just the original brownie mix in the poop brownies.

She's also trying to argue whataboutisms in this post. Yes, other people trace too, but other people are also called out for tracing. Just because other people are tracing doesn't mean you are not allowed to be criticized for your own tracing, Mercy. You say it's an "awful habit", but you're supposed to stop awful habits, not argue that people can't be upset when you continue to cause harm.

And yes, Mercy is causing harm by selling herself with copied designs and traced art. She is constantly seeking art trades and collaborations (documented previously here and here) with people who are unaware of her thefts, and people are giving her validation by giving her art of these stolen designs. This blog is meant to inform those people unaware of her actions so that behavior can hopefully be stopped, and Mercy can work to improve on her own merrits. I think it's possible, Mercy has made original work. I just want to have good, 100% chocolate brownies, y'know?

Post 5 (the last one)

This post has nothing to do with Mercy's copied art and tracing, and instead involves more comments on the personal drama with Mercy's ex-friends. I will be skipping over it.

Update 3/5/25

Mercy is continuing to claim the Yobstar copy as her original character, using it as a representation as herself. Here is the updated catalogue of known artwork, and dated post screenshots. Everything has been passed to the actual owner of Yobstar.

I was also made aware that one of these pieces is traced from an ex-friend of Mercy, Lou. I will still not involve myself in the personal drama between these people, but I can't just ignore when one (Mercy) is clearly tracing the other's art. The original artwork was shared on the Sirfluff amino, and as previously shown in this post, Mercy has been seen stealing from the old amino before.

Yobstar is a character created by Sirfluff, and is now owned by Omgeeve3, themed after a blue lobster. Yobstar is a part of a whole collection of blue lobster characters Omgeeve3 owns, as he treasures the concept.

More Sirfluff-related Shenanigans

Mercy continues to steal from Sirfluff (technically Fenokay now too), and I continue to record.

First, let's affirm these characters were created before Mercy posted about them:

Jake's TH Profile - Dated December 18th, 2021. Much like Shinto, Mercy is stealing this character's original design. Please click the “View More” button at the bottom of the page to enter the gallery and see the older design for proof. This character was created by Fenokay and sold to Sirfluff.

The Morbiun copy is the most blantant of the two, Mercy straight-up claims she created the design. But both are left un-credited to the artist who made them or the artist who owns them. Mercy Hasn't Changed

You might have noticed the dates of Mercy's posts and how they contradict more recent statements, but if this is the only post you've seen, let me break it down:

Mercy, time and time again, insists that she is not in the wrong. She claims that she is a victim, who's past callout posts are actually harassment campaigns run by nasty people. But time and time again she caught copying, tracing, and lying. She deletes all media on her account, says that she'll change, and then repeats it a day, a month, who knows later.

Here's a timeline of posts, starting November 4th, 2024 and ending December 9th, 2024. These contain "apologies", admissions of guilt, and evidence of constant toxic behavior.

Promises to leave and do better are broken constantly, so I really don't know what to say when it comes to the question of "will this end?". I don't know. I hope it does purely because Mercy's character theft has hurt people and taken attention away from genuinely talented character designers. But who knows.

Smaller Sirfluff-related Shenanigans

Mercy has a special affinity to stealing from the artist Sirfluff. While some of Mercy's thefts are major, some are just smaller shenanigans. Major thefts get their own posts, but the small stuff just get a little dump here.

The Cedric Copy

Cedric is a character that was created and shared by FionaBajenting on the Sirfluff Amino back in 2018. He's an axolotl character that drew inspiration from both Sirfluff and Sleepykinq's styles and edgy stories.

First, proof that this character was created before Mercy posted about them:

The original Cedric post - dated September 21st, 2018. While the person that ran the FionaBajenting account has moved on, the character is still their oc and not Mercy's. Mercy has said in the past that she used to be on amino at that time, so it isn't a stretch that she saw the character and decided to take it as her own.

That post she is referring to may have been made "last year", but we have seen instances of her creating traced art and stealing characters very recently. Keep that in mind.

The Stinki Copy

Stinki was created by Sauntproof and given to Sirfluff as an oc for an inside joke they share.

The Shinto Copy

Shinto is a character originally created by MicMac03, and was transferred to Sirfluff in a trade. While Sirfluff gave Shinto a redesign in their ownership, it does not allow Mercy to use the old one for her own purposes.

Note that the most current posts of Mercy using this stolen character/art was made December 6th, 2024. She is also using the "oc" hashtags, just more evidence she is trying to pass this character as her own.

When confronted by an artist Mercy had requested free art from, Mercy claimed that she "forgot she took inspiration from that character". She is playing it off as an innocent mistake, but by doing that, she is admitting wrong. If that wasn't enough, she was confronted NOVEMBER 4TH 2024! Almost exactly a month later, she is expecting to use the stolen design again like everything is okay.

The Nugget Copy

Nugget is a character that was created by the artist Sirfluff as a custom for Doughguts (who now owns the design). It was made based off of a photograph of Doughguts in a chicken mask, and is now used by her as a joke-sona.

Mercy does not always go in-depth in her tags, but this particular post is revealing. Calling Nugget her own sona, as well as tagging "oc" makes it clear that she is trying to pass this recolored character off as wholly original.

The Dammy Copy

Dammy is a character by the artist Dilnyan, the design being used as a sort of mascot for her accounts. It is well known that Dilnyan is very protective of her characters, especially Dammy.

First, proof that this character was created before Mercy posted about them:

Dammy's TH Profile - dated August 6th, 2019. Please be aware that Dammy's profile is hidden to people without a Toyhouse account. Mercy does have a Toyhouse account though, so that is not an issue. I am linking a screenshot of the dated profile below.

When confronted by Dilnyan, Mercy claimed that this is an "inspired" design, and not copied. But if a character can be described as "someone else's character but chubbier and green" that goes farther than inspiration.

The Bunshark Copies

We will be looking at 3 different stolen characters, all of which were originally created by the artist Sirfluff. They are grouped together because they are all a part of the same species, also owned by Sirfluff, called "Bunsharks".

First, proof that these characters were created before Mercy posted about them:

Cookie's Toyhouse Profile - dated May 11th, 2023. She was an NPC in a roleplay server and was raffled off to a new owner (Doughguts) when the games ended.

Chad's Toyhouse Profile - also dated May 11th, 2023. He was an NPC as well, but was kept by Sirfluff when the games ended.

Bobi is a unique case, as they are still an NPC in the current games, and therefore do not have a toyhouse profile. Here is Fluff's message in the game's discord showing when their reference was first published on December 15th, 2023. Bobi is still owned by Sirfluff.

Let's actually start with the Bobi Character theft first, because Mercy has created the most art of them

There is no acknowledgment that this could be fanart for someone else's character, even though Mercy has credited other artists she's created fanart for (even sirfluff).

Next, there's Cookie, because you have already seen the art created of the character in Bobi's section.

Mercy's twitter version of this post made the "oc" appear more brown (I believe because of compression?), but on Tiktok it is clear that the colors were picked directly from Cookie. There are more changes to this version of Cookie, but that is because she was anthropomorphized and given more traditionally Masculine features (aka facial hair, a flat chest, and a pronounced bulge).

Lastly, Chad

The differences between these designs are so minor, it barely merits an explanation. Mercy's "oc" has duller colors (assuming compression is the culprit for the change again), a sweater, pawpads, and a changed tail. That being said:

The tail is directly traced from the original chad. Like with Bobi's posts, there were no credits to Sirfluff, and it is left to assume that this is Mercy's original character.

So you've had an oc stolen by Mercy, now what?

Getting a character stolen is frustrating, but, as the saying goes:

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.”

The character thief has only gotten to where they are with the help of your wonderful oc, and hey, you can always consider what they've done as fanart (even if they won't admit it).

Why not take a page from these 3 artist's books and create a collection of all the fanart you're getting from Mercy?
