The *ONLY* criteria required in order to be a trans woman is that you be a man. It is an identity defined by being of the male sex.

It is defined by maleness to the total exclusion of women and femalenes. There is no overlap. If anything, the category of trans woman reiterates that these are discrete groups and not one group being a subset of the other.

And before someone claims 'trans woman just means a type of woman like tall woman, etc-'

Women can also be transgender. But that makes them trans men, not trans women. Trans women remain an entirely separate category from the category *women.* Whether women identify as trans or not, it would never allow them to be trans women in the way that term exists.

They claim that men are a subset of women while at the same time acknowledging that no women could ever be a member of that group. That is not a subset. It is 2 categories that do not overlap.
