Can we talk about how distancing yourself away from your friends is known as punishing yourself and that its exactly what Mike did when Will went to Lenora? Because he never really got to apologize and so he hid in the basement, which is surrounded in reminders of his friends, and just played a game nonstop, mindlessly? Like... My poor boy :(

Scene where Joyce comforts Mike telling him its okay to be hurt by his parents not caring, that it's ok to wish he didn't have what happened to him, and that its okay to want a parental figure that actually cares for him when.

Its shown that Joyce doesn't really like the parents of Mike and Nancy before. And its shown that she sort of seen them as kids for her to protect since their parents don't. I just want a scene where Mike gets caught in his room hiding away from everyone, again, by Joyce. And the first thing she does is give the boy long needed affection.(Even if he doesn't believe he needs it) Please Duffer Brothers PLEASE

Hello everyone, I know I've been gone for awhile but thats cause I've been busy 😭

I just want to note that I know a lot of you have been saying that you don't want the Mike Monologue--and if you haven't been saying it, the voting shows it--and I just want to say, getting that Monologue is actually a really good idea. Because it will SHOW us if Mike doesn't mean what he's telling El! It will show us his thought process, show us if he's purely doing it for Will! And if it doesn't or the text is blocked out that might be even better, because it means they're planning something big. We all know that the Monologue had a LOT of loop holes. And things that didn't really make sense. It will show us Mikes thought process and it helps theorists a ton! That's all! Thank you!!

And remember, Byler is and will be canon <3

Back on my Mike deserves less hate rant

This is your warning for ED(Anorexia and Bulimia)Suicide, and Extreme Depression.

We only see Mike eat a poptart and maybe a slice of pizza this entire season.

But what do we see him drink?

7-up, something that suppresses sickness and hunger

A milkshake (which normally only consists of fruit)

And water

This boy is not at all okay

Also,

He spent the entire month of October in his basement. He would wake up, play games and then sleep. That was all. He didn't even leave for his favorite holiday, Halloween

"She's ruining the best day of the entire year!"

When he does go back to staying in his room, it becomes a mess. Mike always used to keep his room clean. Not only that, he's not taking care of himself. The first scene we get of Mike is literally him picking clothes to wear off of the floor. Believe it or not, wearing dirty clothes can make you develop rashes and get you sick. The mess of his room isn't because he's a teenage boy. No. Mike has a depression room. He is depressed. He has shown so many signs but a lot of people fail to notice.

Literally in season 1, we see him jump off a cliff.

Season 2, we literally see him put himself in danger by running to warn Hopper. (I couldn't find a gif for this one)

Season 3, he binge eats. Yea. He does that. He also AGAIN puts himself in danger. He also forces himself to avoid his best friend, someone that has helped him through so much.

Mid season 3 and season 4, it becomes severe. He locks himself away from social contact, even though he is a social butterfly. He stares mindlessly at video games and misses any chance of fun.

Season 4. He avoids eating as much as possible, tries to avoid his best friend AGAIN and blames himself for almost EVERYTHING.

Mike didn't hug Will because he knew he would break down. End of rant.

The fact that Mike began severely self isolating once the byers moved reminded me of an asian concept thats also seen as a mental illness

Hikimori.

"Hikimori( 引守) is also known as acute social withdrawal, is total withdrawal from society and seeking extreme degrees of social withdrawment and confinement. Hikikomori refers to both the phenomenon in general and the recluses themselves. Hikimori have been described as loners or "modern-day hermits"

Estimates suggest that half a million Japanese youths become social recluses after an extreme loss."

(Hikimori is actually seen in Cha Hyun-Su in another netflix series; Sweet Høme.)

An extreme loss huh? Seems to fit Mike's situation really well. He said himself he felt he lost Will.

I feel this is a good time to bring up that we literally saw Mike commit suicide at 12 (just saved by a miracle) when Will was missing. It looks like he is committing suicide, it doesn't have the vibe of him misjudging the risks. He wants to die, and if that useful to Dustin, at least he'll have some worth in death.

That kid is actually a whole lot of not okay!

Though if he was depressed after the Byers move he did pull himself out with the Hellfire club and his friends, so that's resilient at least!

We NEED a RAW look into Mike's depression while he was away from Will.

Give me Mike's thoughts laden with "I treated him so badly, and now I don't get to see him or even hear his voice"

Give me Mike giving way to crying up against the wall in his basement after trying to reach Will on the phone for the 100th time

Give me Mike sneaking away to Castle Byers, just to find that its been destroyed board by board, sitting amid the wreckage and staring at the picture ripped right down the middle of him and Will

Give me Mike sitting reminiscently in the window seal every rainfall, thinking back to their last argument and every hurtful word said to the most important person in his life

Give me Mike crumbling letter after letter unable to find the right words to say to Will to rectify his misbehavior

Give me Mike finding out that Will has been making art for someone else, and bringing out his binder of every piece of creativity he has left of him

Give me Mike deciding to join a DnD club to feel a little closure

Give me Mike perpetually having to explain his melancholic disposition to all of his concerned family and friends, professing that he was just missing El, and being forced to swallow who he was really missing
