White queers don’t know what it’s like to be the only racially intersectional person in a “queer/progressive/lefty” friend group. To be the only person of a diff race in the room, and also the only socially excluded person in the room, and wondering if it’s possible that your best friends, who seem idealistic on the surface, may secretly or subconsciously be racist. When they’re planning shit right in front of you and inviting everyone BUT you. Not letting you in on ANYTHING and not even hiding it. Being unwilling to have your back when you express discomfort just because they don’t want a target on theirs. When they’re allowing, enabling, or even encouraging one guy who harrasses ONLY you, then defending him and backing each other up and spitting you out of the group when you take issue.

It’s just wild to me. And I’m jincho! I’m a pale latino, I’ve not seen half of the shit that brown latinos or afro-latinos do. you cannot talk about the homophobic murder of jonathan joss without including in the conversation that he is indigenous.

american indian men are at the 2nd highest risk of death by murder compared to all other ethnic groups. in their lifetimes, 82% of native men report having experienced domestic violence. yet the overwhelming majority of perpetrators are non-natives (88% of native men and 92% of native women who reported violence said their attacker was non-native). what’s more, tribal governments are often stymied in their attempts to bring justice against non-natives, meaning that many of these cases go unresolved.

this was an intersectional attack. the fact that he is indigenous matters, even if the motivation was homophobic, because it made him even more vulnerable and disposable in the eyes of his killer.

We need to start calling transandrophobes and enbyphobes TERFS. If you don’t think it “counts” to exclude, invalidate, insult, or hate trans people who aren’t you, you are a TERF by definition.

Stop being polite. Do you call TERFS “gendercritial”? No? That’s right, you call them TERFS. Are you hyper-correcting and making yourself quiet (as you were taught growing up) when you categorise these people as anything but TERFS?

And goes without saying but that goes for anyone who’s excluding or insulting my transfemme sisters as well. We’re a unified community and a TERF is anyone who comes for it with hatred in any form.
