STORY MODE: The Multiverse Incursion: A Direct Sequel to World of Light
Timeline Placement:
The Multiverse Incursion picks up where World of Light left off in SSB Ultimate. After Galeem & Dharkon are defeated, the Smash World begins to recover, but the balance of light & darkness remains fragile. The rifts created by their destruction inadvertently tear open dimensional fissures, allowing characters & worlds from other multiverses to collide, This triggers the rise of The Conflux King, a new antagonist who seeks to stabilize the chaos, not through restoration but by fusing all realities into one super-reality under his rule.
Prologue: The Shattered Balance
Galeem & Dharkon’s remnants, despite their defeat, have left distortions in reality, Mario, Link, Samus, Pikachu, & Kirby investigate these strange occurrences, leading them to the first fissure, Rifts open to reveal corrupted forms of Master Hand & Crazy Hand, now merged into Fractured Hand, acting as pawns of the Conflux King.
First Boss Fight: Fractured Hand (2-phase battle).
New Threat Emerges:
After the defeat of Fractured Hand, The Conflux King reveals himself, addressing the heroes through the void. He mocks their past victories against Galeem & Dharkon, claiming he will succeed where they failed, He summons Omni-Glitch, a glitch-powered general who corrupts existing fighters, forcing the heroes to face their own dark doppelgängers.
Returning Heroes:
Fighters restored in World of Light regroup as the starting roster, Survivors of Galeem’s light (e.g., Kirby, Mario, Link) lead the charge, while previously corrupted fighters (like Bowser, Ganondorf, & Ridley) wrestle with their guilt.
Galeem & Dharkon’s Shadows:
Subtle remnants of Galeem’s light & Dharkon’s darkness emerge in the form of rogue bosses, Galeem’s shards create Radiant Abominations, light-infused clones of certain fighters, Dharkon’s shadows produce Void Terrors, chaotic & malformed enemies.
Tabuu’s Role:
With Galeem & Dharkon out of the picture, Tabuu, believed to be destroyed in Subspace Emissary, returns, weakened but alive. He opposes The Conflux King, seeing him as a threat to all dimensions, Tabuu reluctantly allies with the heroes, but his motives remain ambiguous.
New Characters & Teams:
The Heroic Vanguard:
The original fighters from World of Light band together, with reinforcements from other universes:
Returning Heroes: Mario, Link, Samus, Kirby, Pikachu, Fox, Sonic, & more.
New Allies: Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Lara Croft, Doom Slayer, Aang, Goku, Sora, & more.
The Villainous Alliance:
Some villains from World of Light (like Bowser & Ridley) join forces with the heroes to oppose The Conflux King. Others, however, are corrupted by the fissures:
Corrupted Villains: Ganondorf, Sephiroth, Meta Knight, & King Dedede (possessed by Omni-Glitch).
Neutral Villain: Tabuu (acting independently).
Expanded Map Design:
The map evolves World of Light’s overworld exploration concept:
Dimensional Realms: New areas represent specific franchises (e.g., Hyrule, Green Hill, the Pokémon League, the Mushroom Kingdom, & new realms like Midgar & the Hidden Leaf Village).
Fissures: Dimensional tears act as warp points between different universes, each guarded by corrupted bosses or enemy teams.
Ending: All heroes unite to restore the multiverse.
Final Boss:
Phase 1: Omni-Glitch Battle
The heroes must defeat Omni-Glitch, who warps reality mid-battle (e.g., platforms dissolve into code, gravity shifts).
Omni-Glitch corrupts one hero randomly, forcing players to battle their own teammate.
Phase 2: The Conflux King
The Conflux King uses abilities drawn from all universes:
Mario's Fireballs
Link's Master Sword
Samus’s Arm Cannon
Kirby’s Copy Power
His final form merges the power of Galeem, Dharkon, & Tabuu, creating an unholy Cosmic Trinity.
Phase 3: Dimensional Collapse
The battlefield shifts between dimensions (e.g., Hyrule Castle, Final Destination, Green Hill).
Fighters must land a finishing blow with a combined Ultimate Smash, featuring all playable characters.
Key Features
Cinematic Cutscenes: Similar to Subspace Emissary & World of Light, with full voice acting for iconic lines.
New Unlockable Characters: Rescue fighters trapped in alternate dimensions, including Tabuu, Master Hand, & Crazy Hand as playable characters.
Hidden Bosses: Galeem & Dharkon return as optional super-bosses if specific objectives are met.
