I just KNOW Xaden is going take every opportunity to call Violet his wife in the next books. It’s going to be constant. He is not going to let people forget that they’re married.

*walks into a room* “has anyone seen my wife?”

*someone compliments the decor in Riorson House* “yeah, my wife picked those out”

*Halden breathes in Violet’s general direction* “stay the fuck away from my wife”

I am so ready for Xaden’s husband era. It might even top his professor era (which was iconic btw). I am going to be eating up every single scene between Xaden and Violet in the next books and begging Rebecca Yarros for crumbs afterwards.

Not sure if I should still add the *spoiler* or even put it under the cut but just in case~

Ok last thoughts for now (unless some other random thought pops into my head at a later time lol) onto the conversation on who the “brother” is at the end….

I think it’s Bodhi. For the many reasons I’m sure everyone else has mentioned and I’ve also listed in a previous post of him potentially feeling like a second to Xaden or not being strong enough, especially after his signet didn’t work on the venin like he thought it would and then being taken away by his dragon kicking and screaming when things got dangerous/serious with Theophanie. I’m sure that pissed him off and him doing his own thing in the last battle, Imogen last seeing him I think hunched over the ground with his dragon who is hurt. Could he possibly have pulled a Xaden and did it to save his dragon? Maybe for his own lack of strength or power in the moments he felt mattered? Also him turning venin could definitely push Xaden to need to marry Violet in order to protect her and Tyrrendor if the whole spare heir thing is no longer an option. Idk there could be a whole outline on why he could definitely be the venin brother at the end.

I know RY said to pay attention to who’s missing at the end and the one name given who’s for sure missing is Garrick so it seems like it would be him but I think that’s too obvious…or maybe we are all thinking too much into it and it could be him but my vote is still on Bodhi. We don’t know yet who else is for sure missing besides Garrick. (Also I think he could be missing because of the issue with the missing eggs, whatever went down in those missing 12 hrs and whatever plan was put in motion, Garrick could be distance wielding to the islands with the eggs or something for all we know)

Althoughhhhh if by chance it’s not Bodhi and the question of why would Xaden have felt he needed to marry Violet in a rush and for her to look after Tyrrendor (being duchess and all) if Bodhi is still around and not the venin brother? My mind goes to this part towards the end of the book before they all go off to fight their own separate battles:

I think this is alluding to a possible off page conversation between Xaden and Bodhi where Xaden possibly was again bringing up Bodhi being the next heir to take over in case something happens and Bodhi probably finally got through to his older cousin that he by no means wants that responsibility so I’m thinking Xaden probably gave up pushing and decided to look at his next option. The “stay with her, but remember your promise” could be a promise/compromise that when Xaden is gone, and if Violet is the possible next heir instead of Bodhi, than Bodhi needs to protect her and guide her if needed when she steps into the role he doesn’t want. With Bodhi nodding as if in agreement and stating “I don’t want your fucking province” as like a confirmation which Xaden notes and clasps his cousin’s shoulder like “agreed”👀 just saying…this would be a possible clue if the brother is not Bodhi and him not being the heir of Tyrrendor when Xaden is gone.

And yes I know being the heir could be to keep Violet safe from being killed in connection to Xaden going full venin but we are also not sure if their dragons being apart could lead to a possible broken bond which would also technically protect her because she wouldn’t be an automatic way to take out Xaden.

Maybe let’s wrap this up and put it to a vote lol

I know the whole Bodhi being number two to everything when it comes to Xaden whether he is seen as the spare or in some shadow of his cousin is always brought up and when I read this and remember hearing about RY Q&A talking about Bodhi’s Taylor Swift song would be “I look in peoples windows,” I definitely thought oh shit is Bodhi secretly crushing on Violet this whole time? Is that another thing he is somewhat on the outside looking in, Xaden’s relationship with Violet? He says “I’m doing exactly what I’ve always wanted” and listing who he’s always wanted to protect: Xaden and Tyrrendor and then Theophanie cuts in with “and her” 👀 like Alwaysss wanted to protect Violet👀 that made me pause. And i know she is trying to get under his skin but being that she isn’t really wrong about him basically being in Xaden’s shadow (not that he isn’t powerful in his own right but I’m sure being constantly compared to Xaden doesn’t feel the greatest), she could be hinting at something here. Also when she says Violet “reeks of his kin,” is she implying literally smelling of Xaden (cuz if so has being venin heightened all her senses that she would be able to smell him on her?) or just playing on the fact that he looks so much like Xaden? If it is the senses thing or being able to get a read on people somehow, would that possibly mean she is seeing something about him that no one else is? Idk if I’m making sense but maybe she picking up on more than what others are and using it to psych them out, in this case Bodhi’s possible feelings for Violet.

And it wouldn’t be a stretch honestly. He spent so much of Iron flame being the middle man between Violet and Xaden’s whole back in forth in the first half of the second book and looking out for her and advocating for her in Xaden’s absence. He basically was the closet thing to Xaden she had when Xaden graduated so I could see how he might have caught some feelings.

Random but what happened to Aimsir? Lilith Sorrengail died and I don’t recall if it was ever mentioned what happened to her dragon. I don’t think she (or is it he) died when Lilith did so she could still be in the vale or somewhere and possibly be willing to bond another rider🤔 and given how powerful Violet’s mom was, is her dragon considered a strong/power house of a dragon like sgaeyl or tairn? Like will we see a possible new cadet bonding Lilith’s dragon in the new year coming up for the quadrant? Wonder how the Sorrengail siblings would feel seeing their mother’s dragon with someone else… and what kind of power that dragon could give to another rider.

And if Aimsir didn’t in fact die when Lilith did, I start to wonder how deep the bond dynamics go with the rider/dragon especially if only few dragons die with their riders. Not really sure how old Lilith was but if Brennan is around 30 she must of had Aimsir at least a little longer than that and I would think being bonded for that long would create a deep bond but then again I get the vibes that if melgren were to die codagh would just be inconvenienced and annoyed but then move on😅

Also I know the vibes we are getting from Sloane and Dain👀 (although I gotta admit when I first read this book it went right over my head 😅 lol) and I get the whole mirror of the relationship between Violet and Xaden and seen some theories on them being some kind of balance and I’m not opposed to it…..

Buttttttt a part of me is still thinking her and Aaric would make sense. Like that first year love. She lost her brother, her parents, their involvement in the “rebellion” and he’s the prince of the continent they were rebelling from. Both with a power that holds a lot of weight and responsibility. The youngest siblings that had to mature/grow up far earlier than I’m sure was expected (her because of the rebellion, loss of her family. Him because of his untrustworthy and cruel family and secrets they were willingly keeping from the continent. Also a detached and sense of loss of the family he probably wish he had.) Them possibly ruling together a more united continent, a merge of both sides moving forward in peace (in this scenario of course Halden is chillin with Malek)

Just saying….. I could make a case all day 😂

(Although if he doesn’t ‘see’ himself surviving the war, him saying he’ll most likely die protecting others, I guess it’s all moot point in the end😭 Still holding out hope tho lol. Need him to make it out alive so the world isn’t stuck with 🤢 Halden)
