scripting tips for romance!

i see a lot of people shifting for their comfort character, or to romance someone in their desired reality. even if you’re not, that’s okay! these tips can work platonically, too, just skip over the parts that don’t apply to you. 

I think it’s important that when you script for romance/relationships, you go into detail into why it’s special to you, and how it comes about. If you want to see how things unfold, then it would be good to set up a foundation for it flourish so it feels organic and genuine, you know?

- why do they love you?

instead of scripting: (name) loves me, say why. what makes you loveable? what are you insecure about that they absolutely adore? do they pick up on little habits that you don’t even realise you have? what qualities do you have that they will rave about to their friends?

- they respect it when you need your space

- they take care of you (if you haven’t scripted out mental illness, periods or sickness, this is a really cute one)

- they like (something you like)

- they ask you on dates you will enjoy

- they are creative in their gifts

- you are creative in your gifts

- they reciprocate your energy

- you’re always cold/warm (for cuddles)

- you’re a good kisser

- you’re/they’re immune to bad breath

- arguments are logically discussed in level voices

- they are immune to cheating on you

- your relationship will always make you feel safe

- you’re immune to toxicity

- they brag about you to their friends

- your/their lips are immune to being chapped

- you’re immune to forgetting birthdays

- they’re immune to forgetting your birthday

- every date, planned or not, always ends up fun and memorable

- they understand you without speaking (you know that weird telepathy you have with your friend when you don’t wanna speak or can’t? yes, that.)

- you/they understand social/romantic cues (asking for a kiss/hug without speaking, that kind of thing, kind of connects to the one above.)

- they respect the differences in your love languages

- your friends support you

- they know your favourite snacks

- they respect your decisions

- they respect your goals

- they respect you

- how did you meet?

- did your friends ship you from the beginning?

- how did you confess? (if you want to let that unfold, try: when did we confess/what made your feelings uncontainable?)

-  when did you realise you liked them? did someone else have to tell you for you to realise, did you see them with someone else and get confused by your jealous, etc.

- why do you like them?

- you have a shared playlist

- you have a movie marathon of both your favourite movies

- they know gentleman moral code (opening the doors for you, giving you their jacket)

- it’s not always about you (i get really sick of people who are willing to drop everything for me. i found it also unrealistic. if you’re the same and like people with their own goals, then this is a good one because it means your relationship is more organic, and you’ll have more to think about during your shifting experience instead of all the fluff. but if that’s what you want, then go for it! it’s all about livening up your experience.)

- they know the lyrics to your favourite songs

- how did people find out about your relationship?

- did people see your relationship coming?

- are you guys more of a dynamic duo or partners in crime? (works for poly too)

- what’s your romance dynamic? (nerdy x goofy, good x bad, gentle giant x smol demon, etc.)

- do you guys have your own, secret special meeting spot?

- what is your combined aesthetic?

- how do they say ‘i love you’ without saying the exact words?

a few scripting exercises to get you in that mindset:

- what is one memory you have with them that makes you smile just thinking about it?

- write a love letter/letter of appreciation to them. (if you want to go the extra mile, sleep with it under your pillow!)

- make a playlist that reminds you of them.

Telling shifting stories to non-shifters:

Scripting :)

I know a lot of people get into shifting at first and are like "wOaH wHaTs ScRipTing????"

I'm here to tell you: "It's nothing much"

When I first got into shifting, I thought scripting was the "be all end all" of shifting. That if I didn't script something, it wouldn't happen or it wouldn't turn out the way I wanted it to.

And even though I have yet to shift, I already know that that's not necessary. Scripting itself isn't necessary. I use it as a loose organizational method for my ideas, but unless it's important, I don't script it.

For example, in my MHA DR, I use my quirk to help Aizawa during the attack on USJ. You know the part where the Nomu slams down and like, breaks his face? YEAH NOT HAPPENING BRO, not on my watch, at least.

I've never scripted that I'm going to help him. I just know I will. If I know something is going to happen, why bother scripting it?

Sure, you could script you want to go to Hogwarts and be a Slytherin, but, the last minute while you're doing your method (which you don't have to do; more on that in a later post), you think, "Hey, I might fit more into Hufflepuff. Yeah, I like that better," and BOOM you're going to shift and be a Hufflepuff, even though you said in your script you wanted to be a Slytherin.

So, all in all, what I'm getting at here (if I'm making any sense at all), is that no, scripting is not necessary, but it can be helpful. Some people use scripting as a form of stress relief. Yay! Good for them! They can script all they want. For me, scripting is a hassle and I only do it when I'm bored or when I need to writing something.

But the people who say you NEED to script anything and everything are wrong. Script as much, or as little, as you want. Shifting is a personal thing, so do whatever is most comfortable for you. :)

Script Stuff

I won’t be posting all of my script, but here are some fun additions I’ll be scripting that other people might think are cool

Taishiro Toyomitsu (Fatgum) will be my host dad, because I’m a transfer student who moved to go to UA without my family also moving.

UA has these dances every year, as practice for black-tie hero events: Halloween Masquerade (where you dress in a nice looking, high end costume that includes a mask) and Spring Formal (basically prom but with less dancing). 

There is no discrimination in the reality.

I will have a dorm room between Katsuki Bakugou and Eijiro Kirishima

MHA UA Layout

I am scripting and I am so mad because there is no real layout for UA High. I want to know how to get from 1-A class to locker rooms but I have no idea how! There is no lay out and it has to fit into this weird looking building. I have to create it, so now I have to know how many classes are there, how are they separated, what about upperclassmen. Is it separated by floors or by columns? Where are the teacher areas? How many floors are there (it’s really hard to tell with so many windows?!

I am so frustrated by how I see no clues on how this place was built.
