have i made this post already. i feel like nobody ever talks about jack and chuck. limited interaction for sure but that is his grandfather. who jack, at the earliest point in his life, almost definitely admired the idea of and thought it was the coolest thing ever to be related to him. i mean jack still calls chuck ‘grand-pop’ when he and midam are talking.. in s15. post being brutally murdered by him. and all chuck can say of jack is that he’s the winchesters’ lap dog.

i don’t think they could’ve had a real or frankly good relationship at any point honestly. but it’s just soooooo. like jack has an entire family he just can’t know or connect with because they all either hate him or want him to be something he’s not, and the few that actually like and care for him are either dead or he’s set up to kill them.

Honestly, I think this is one of the main reasons more people are into Dean as a character than Sam. The narrative made it extremely difficult to connect with him emotionally on a narrative front, while making it extremely easy to empathise with Dean.

Sam is a great character who got progressively relegated to the background of a show he was supposed to be a protagonist in.

Honestly, I think the show would have been more interesting if they let Sam keep his powers. The moral and emotional rollercoster of that plot was amazing. Also his relationship with Rowena and the angle of "Hunters are witches in denial" was also something interesting Sam's character would have benefited from exploring further.

Also, I'll keep bringing my one-off faves around as much as needed: Sam and the Monstrous Children, the half demon boy, the psychic girl... Jack. Those would have also been really interesting things to explore. But this show progressively forgot to BRING PEOPLE BACK.

Sam's relationship with Jack went criminally underexplored. At least as far as my memory goes.

Damn now I want to do a rewatch focusing on Sam.
