More Toby headcanons.
Toby hates hospitals. He'd rather have Natalie or Nurse Ann patch him up than go to an actual hospital. Probably because he died and was resurrected, and hospitals wouldn't really know what to do with a literal reanimated corpse.
He's a master swordsman, but he prefers wielding a scythe. He'll still wield two swords if he feels like it, or if his scythe is undergoing maintenance.
Firearms are a HUGE no for Toby. The closest thing he'll go for a ranged weapon is either a crossbow or various throwing knives. Why firearms are out of the question... Well, let's just say he was shot in the shoulder once. It wasn't a great experience.
Despite everything he's been through, Toby would be an excellent dad if he ever had (or adopted) a child. He wouldn't want his kid to go through the same hell he went through, and would do everything to prevent that.

Nyx huffed regally, approaching Toby before sitting back, letting her master scratch behind her ears. Shiro, however, barked excitedly, and tried to lick Hatty's face.
Ghost Magnet--Open AHIT RP
"Hello?" Hatty called, as she walked around the new landscape she found herself in, a small army of her Subconite siblings, as per usual, by her side, as they usually were on one of her adventures.
"Is anyone there?"
There didn't seem to be a soul in sight, the place was barren...and eerily quiet.

Soon enough, two large dogs -- or, rather, wolves -- came bounding out of the woods, flanked by Toby. One of the wolves was a brilliant pitch-black with glowing crimson eyes, while the other, much smaller wolf seemed to be the exact opposite -- pure white with blue eyes.
"This is Nyx and Shiro!!" Sally stated, pointing at the black wolf, then at the white wolf.

From out of nowhere, Sally's laughter could be heard, followed by the barking of a dog. No. Two dogs. Large dogs, at that. Before anyone could register what was about to happen next, Sally rushed at Hatty, tackle hugging her with a huge grin on her face.
"Hi Hatty!! Papa and I adopted two new dogs!! You wanna meet them?"
The young poltergeist's energy was intense, like she'd eaten way too much sugar... or perhaps she had some of Toby's coffee without him noticing. Either way, she was practically radiating pure joy.

"Now you're just saying that to mess with me," Toby teased, giving Duchess a sharp-toothed grin before kissing her forehead. "Anyway, I don't really have much to do today... Though I've been in my recovery arc for far too long. It's about time I got a little bit of fresh air outside."
He grinned before grabbing a pair of swords from the weapon rack behind him. "Think you're up for a little bit of sword practice? This time, I'll try to play fair." He winked, giving Duchess a small smirk that implied that "playing fair" did NOT mean that he would go easy on her. Nor did it mean that he wasn't going to dual-wield.
After finally receiving his metal limbs and acclimating quite well to them over the course of a couple months, Toby was in the training room, practicing his skills with a series of summoned blood weapons. He decided to start off small by using twin daggers, then eventually moved up to using a large blood scythe (which would soon become his preferred weapon). He worked hard, trying to get as many slashes in on a training dummy as possible before ultimately tearing the sandbag "head" off of the dummy's shoulders. Wiping the sweat from his face and recalling the blood scythe back into the reservoir built into his right arm, he let out a content sigh before turning to leave the training room, unaware that he was being watched closely.
Hank had been closely monitoring Toby in the over head office of the danger room. Duchess had been up there as well, but she went down to meet Toby when she saw he had finished and was leaving. Hank made some notes, mostly about how Toby used the prosthetics, they looked comfortable enough, but he would question Toby about them later, make sure nothing needed tweaking.
Duchess walked quickly down the hall, wanting to catch Toby before he got too far ahead. She called out his name when he came in sight.
"Hey, looks like your training's coming on really well," She said when she caught up with him, smiling brightly. "Sorry, Hank saw you were getting ready and wanted to snoop. mostly to see how your prosthetics are coming along. He believes that everything can be constantly improved, so be prepared for a bombardment of questions later."

"N-no, it's my fault! I should've been more careful!" Toby grinned sheepishly, offering his metal right hand to the woman. "Once again, I'm sorry if I was rude... My name's Tobias, but it's easier if you could just call me Toby. What's your name?"
Cue Toby accidentally bumping into the shy young woman... And immediately apologizing profusely, bowing reapectfully.
A light yelp as she was sent back a few steps after one bumped into her. She thought to be the one at fault here and she would also bow repeatedly. "S-So sorry!"

Toby chuckled lightly, rolling the metal arm around in its socket. "So far, so good... Didn't come loose, so I'm happy about that. Left leg seems to be holding up well, though it could use some work with the shock absorbers. Right arm could use some sensors to mimic the sensations of the arm I lost, but that's up to Hank as to whether or not he wants to add them."
The blood-user then wrapped his arms around Duchess in an affectionate hug, almost as if he was afraid to lose her. "...I said before that I can't thank you enough for saving my ass... I haven't stopped thinking about it."

Toby nodded silently, not saying too much as he sighed, unintentionally letting his six wings materialize through the back of his coat. Each pitch-black wing had red feathers at the tips, as if they were made of a mixture of shadows and fire.
It was supposed to be an easy mission. Get in, kill the Obsidian Dragon, and get the hell out. But Tobias Foster wasn't expecting this to be a rescue mission as well. Which meant that any wrong move could mean death for either him, the tiefling he was defending, or both at the same time. His bones ached, but he had no choice. With all the energy he had left, he rushed at the dragon and sank both blades into the beast's heart. After withdrawing both blades, he blacked out, unable to stand after spending all of his energy.
Celeste was walking by and spotted Toby, surprised that someone with divine powers was so close to where she’d been tracking a little lead about her father. She picked him up and took him to her camp, humming softly as she set stuff up. She wrapped his visible wounds and let him rest.

"Maybe. Maybe not. We may never know. Bit my point still stands... You're.in charge of your own path." Toby grinned, his crimson eyes shining in a way that looked almost familiar... Maybe too familiar.

"Hey." Toby gently placed a steel right hand on Celeste's shoulder. "I don't expect much from you, other than you doing what makes you happy. I'm proud of you."

Toby let out a small chuckle. "I was recently promoted to Captain of the Royal Guard. Not sure why. Spur of the moment decision, I guess, but I'm trying to lean into the role with as much humility as possible."

"Heh... Sounds like my sorta party." Toby chuckled lightly. "I may be an aasimar fighter, but I've always wondered whether or not this is it for me. I don't want to live my life constantly hiding behind a blade, but I still live for the thrill of a good adventure."

"Mm. I see." Toby nodded calmly. "...When I first started adventuring, I wasn't really sure of my purpose. I used to travel with a group, but we disbanded after tensions caused a rift in our dynamic. I still write to an old adventuring buddy of mine who's sort of like a little sister to me. Her name's Kate, and she's a dark-elf rogue. You'd enjoy her presence, though she doesn't talk much."

"I'd work with anyone, no matter what. To me, you're another adventurer I'd willingly fight alongside. Tiefling or not, you're an ally now." Toby grinned, determination burning in his crimson eyes.
