Chapter 1 of Footsteps in the Sand
Based on the Cinderkin AU.
When Lilith is supposedly found dead, yet confirmation of how she died cannot be made public, Luz finds things a little suspicious and decides to help her newfound mentor, Edalyn, figure out what really happened to her sister. With the tough decision at hand to stay on the Boiling Isles and help those in need or to go back home and get *herself* mentally in shape, she chooses to stay and ignore her own problems. Let's hope nothing goes terribly wrong.
Meanwhile, Hunter is being blamed for the death of Lilith, as second in command and second in line for the power of the Emperor's Dynasty leadership, he has a reason to kill her, after all.
