He smiled at her, "It comes with time, taking time with each kid and just learning how kids are," even more with foster kids. A lot were a bit alike, so it helped, but each kid was their own person for sure. "I am just lucky I got a good team around me." his other half, his family, and everyone did help. Even his friends and those like family did. He laughed, "I am gonna make you some and real ones, and you will have no idea." he didn't think so, but he started to do it for his kids, so he knew for a fact it worked. "But I hope you're doing well, it seems to be always about my kids with me," he laughed. he didn't mind it. @zeynepaslan.
"I can't imagine that's easy. Figuring out just one kid has been a lot, but as many as you've helped over the years? Seems almost impossible," she admitted. Darian had even been an easy child to help raise, but still was a challenge for someone like Zeynep who didn't take naturally to being a mother like some did. "Oh, you are not wrong at all, I have absolutely no idea. That sounds horrid, but I'll take your word that they're good and would be happy to try some next time you make them." There was a heavy amount of skepticism on her part that they could actually be very good, but the concept was certainly an intriguing one for kids or people in general that don't love to eat their vegetables.

He nodded, "Smart idea," he laughed. he had to remember to do that. "It's ever changing in the home, I can have a full one week, the next just be me and my other half," he shook his head. "But really, one kid will love all the sweets and junk, and next week a kid likes to eat vegan' he laughed. He didn't mind doing what was needed for his kids.
"But we do what we can, buying black and buying what we know will be eaten or used." Something that most people could eat and use without a problem. "Really depends on the day," he said, and what his family was like at the moment. "But hows your family?" he asked, hoping they were doing well. @vincentxcastro.
Vincent smiled softly as he listened to his friend. He totally understood in a way. In other to feed so many mouths especially growing kids one needed to shop a lot and so a good deal was a must in other to save money. His husband came from a large family, many siblings and so he learned a few tips and tricks when it came to shopping and saving.
"I know signing up for stores email newsletter is a huge help. They sometimes send out information on deals and discount," he replied with a smile on his face. "That's also very smart. My mother-in-law raised a large family so they often buy one large staple that be used in so many things. I know rice and pasta are perfect for example. So many different things you can make with those." @tomasxcooper

Tomas has had kids in his home for years now, after taking in his first foster kid in his early 20s. But many had come and gone, and he had adopted a few over the years. That he had his day care too, and he loved to have young kids, to be around them, and to just see them grow up. That he had Hera in his home again was amazing to him. She was back and mother now, too, and he loved that for her. He knew she had been struggling with Maia. It was hard, she was newborn, and Hera was on her own.
But Tomas and the family did their best ot help Hera out as much as they could, but still had to give Hera a chance to do her own thing. He had been trying to comfort Maia, and Hara was having a hard time with her. He did want her to try on her own, but hearing the struggle, he came into the room where Hera was. "It will be okay," he said. He loved to be called dad by his kids, so he was happy to hear that. "You're doing fine," he said, walking towards her. "I know it seems hard, but her crying like this means you are doing well." She was moving, active, and screaming in a way; it was a good sign that she was healthy. A baby who didn't move or make many sounds wasn't a good thing. "It's just a baby thing," he said, looking at her and smiling at Maia. @heracooper.

Hera and her daughter had been staying with her adopted family for two months now and it had been better than Hera had expected. She forgot how caring the Coopers were and she felt herself getting closer to everyone in the family and in the house. For the first time in ever, she was allowing herself to be open and not closed off like she was used to. It made a huge difference in her life and for the first time ever, she felt truly wanted by someone. Not someone, by a group of people. Sure, she knew now she was wanted before, but she was just now allowing herself to see it.
Maia was growing faster and the baby was now two months old. There was a lot of learning how to take care of her daughter, but her adoptive parents helped her and she was feeling a little more confident in being a mom. And just as she was feeling like Maia was sleeping longer, she woke up that night screaming. Hera quickly grabbed her and tried her usual calming tricks, but now, nothing was working. After almost twenty minutes of trying, she heard the door to her room open and she looked at Tomas with tears going down her cheeks, calling him a name she had never called him before. "Dad, help."

Hearing what she said, he smirked and rubbed his face. "I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing if you are busy..." Good, she got business, but bad for the reason that she got it, since someone lost their life. "I mean, we do get new kids at the day care," so the other side was doing well, too. "So that's a good thing," he loved to get new kids and babies in it, it always made him happy. He may have foster kids that he loved as his own, but the kids in the day care were the same to him. @enid-marr
"So busy," she agreed, sighing. She was lucky to have even gotten this time for herself. Her parents often let her have at least one day a week, as long as they weren't too busy at the funeral home, and she tried to savor those days as much as she could. "It's non-stop at the funeral home. If it's not one thing, it's another. I can't complain, though. I wouldn't do it if I didn't love it, and someone's gotta do it."

He smiled, "It just takes years of learning and being around kids." He really loved them. "I was a mess at first, even more when he was alone. "But by now I know to have a bit of everything, so every kid can have something that makes them feel at home and okay. " It wasn't always easy, but he did what he could for all the kids. He smirked, "It's like one of the most famous, is broccoli with brownies." he heard of it before he started to do it. "You really have no idea," he smirked. "But next time we make a batch, we will make you some," he laughed. "But we have done others, but broccoli is best since a lot of kids and people don't like it," so it was best to hide it that way. @zeynepaslan.
"You can tell you've brought kids in a few times, huh? You really know what to do to make sure they're comfortable," she hummed with a note of praise in her voice. It was hard not to respect and appreciate how hard the man worked to make sure the kids that came into his home were at much at ease as was possible given the varying circumstances. Her brows narrowed with a clear suspicion as he spoke, the idea of brownies with broccoli one that even Zeynep wasn't sure she could get behind. "That sounds horrid. There's no way you don't taste the broccoli in a brownie," she protested with a shake of her head. The flavor seemed too strong to not be able to pick it out. "I could see maybe some of the milder flavored vegetables, but really? Broccoli you can hide the taste? Or, really, the smell?"

He was happy that he could get Jovi out and about like this. "I do get out for time served," he joked as he looked at Amerie. "Aw, the best age." he loved babies and kids, really young; it was a great time to him. "Right, I know we have not had her too long, but she's growing fast." At that age, her being just over two years old, it was going quick. "Ah, he's gonna be out running you soon he laughed. "Easy on you, not on me anymore," he joked. @ameriecelestino.
Amerie laughed softly, her eyes flicking down to Jovi with a warm smile. “Well, I’m glad they granted you some fresh air,” she teased back, then looked up at him with an easy grin. “We’re doing good—Sean’s been restless lately, so these walks help burn off some of that baby energy before bedtime.” She glanced between the two little ones. “Looks like Jovi’s enjoying herself too. She’s getting so big! I swear, I blink and everyone’s kids are suddenly a year older.” Her gaze lingered on the two toddlers for a moment before she added, “Nice to run into you out here—makes the walk even better.” @tomasxcooper

He did his best to get out and about when he could. Doing the list that was left to do for the daycare, and the second one for the home. But right now, it was the list he had for himself that he needed a little treat. As soon as he walked in, he heard his name, looking around for where it came from. "Hey Enid," he smiled at her, glad ot see a friendly face that he knew. He came up and gave her a small hug. "Right? Life is so busy," he chuckled. @enid-marr.

Enid sat in a lone corner, sipping her bubble tea absentmindedly as she read through a foraging book. It was one she'd read probably hundreds of times; at this point she could recite it from heart if she needed to, but it could never hurt to continue to familiarize herself with plants. It could be dangerous if she picked the wrong plant and took it home to use. She never consumed any plants, but she'd never want to risk it. As the bell above the door rang, she looked up, her smile growing at the familiar face. "Mr. Tomas?" she asked politely, setting her book down. "Fancy seein' you here. It's been so long!"

He smiled as he looked at her. "I've learned by now to have a bit of it all and lots of dinosaur nuggets," he joked with a laugh. "But that's mostly for my husband," he joked. But he just knew how to have food that kids liked and teenagers, so they always had food and something to eat. "I have not before, but I started to foster the kids, and I've learned over the years," he smiled at her. "I think the classic brownies with broccoli," he grinned. "It was wild, you couldn't taste it at all." he shook his head. "But i've done other veggies a little at first and add more till someone notices" he smirked. @zeynepaslan
"All the real staples. Can't go wrong," she agreed with a soft smile. She couldn't imagine how difficult it was to bring a new foster child in as often as he did, having to learn them and adapt to them. Even something as simple as what to make for dinner was an exercise in learning all about them. "That right? I can't say I've ever tried anything like that before. I'm not much of a baker. I can cook a good dinner, but when it comes to baking, that's a whole different skillset." A skillset that she'd never taken the time to pick up, especially since she'd always lived with someone that loved to bake. It had been an easy tradeoff. She made dinners, Ariana had always made desserts for them. "What's the best hidden vegetable bake you've done?"

He chuckled, "I mean you can have another box for the big kids," he winked. "But a mini bottle would be good, but I don't know if it would be good to have numb cheeks and then down a bottle and go home' he laughed at the thought. "But gift cards? Nice pens or markers or something?" he had no idea really. "It's always hard for a kid, no matter their age, such a change up" to go from what home you were used to, then be pulled from the home and tossed into another home. "But I am sure he will come around soon," he smiled at her. "It's amazing, very busy, but it's great," he said, glad to have his girls back around. He had adopted a lot over the years, so to have a few of his kids back in town was amazing. @solanaxortiz.
"That's not a bad idea," she joked in return with Tomás, "I could get some adult only prizes. What do adults like these days? It's probably illegal for me to get mini booze shots to keep in there." Solana continued to tease with a growing smile. It softened, however, as Tomás spoke of the young kid. "I understand that," though she didn't entirely, the sentiment still stood. "I am sure that it will only be a matter of time before he settles in. Though, I know you know that better than anyone, I'm just a voice of assurance," she joked with Tomás. "How are the girls doing being back in Kismet Harbor? I've been meaning to catch up with Evan but seems our schedules have yet to align." @tomasxcooper

Tomàs was the type who tried to make friends with everyone. Even as a kid, he was one to talk to anyone, and it didn't matter to him. That as an adult, he did the same, even if he met them for work or something, he liked to make friends with people. Why had he made friends with Zeyne over the years?
He nodded, "It's a good safety net, normally everyone can handle eating it," he smiled. "Or we can go for mac and cheese, another winner." he has boxes at his house, so any kid could have something to eat. "Love it," he was good with veggie pizza, he knew that as he got older, he was trying to eat better. "I've made the brownies and cookies when you hide like veggies and stuff in it for the kids, it's crazy how you can't even tell." Tomàs laughed. @zeynepaslan.
It was never going to be an easy transition moving from New York, leaving behind everything she knew, but the fact that there were people around to help support her made a difference. It didn't change the grief she was carrying over losing Ariana, but the burden became a little less with each person she was able to reconnect with. "It is nice now and again to just have friends," she agreed with a low laugh. Most of her connections had always been though work, her roster of actual friends a fairly small one.
"Oh, I imagine it's always a crowd pleaser. Darian likes it enough, but we ah - we've always had him eating everything since he was young, so he doesn't usually mind eating whatever I cook," she hummed, a hint of pride over that fact coming out clearly. The fact that Darian could be taken to even some of the fancier restaurants and not pitch a fit when there weren't chicken nuggets was something she and Ariana had always been proud of. "Great, veggie pizza it is. Best of both worlds."

Tomàs loved his job and owning the day care. That could be enough for him, really. to care for young kids and to see them learn and grow. But he loved being a foster parent; that was the best thing for him. He thankfully did get a lot of kids back home or into a new home, and that made him happy. It wasn't always easy; they did have cases that went bad, kids that couldn't be turned around, but a lot of the time it went well, thankfully.
"Right, I try to keep an eye on the ads so I can get good deals." When the house wasn't busy, it wasn't as hard when it was just him and his husband. But other times, kids came in and they needed all types of foods and supplies. "Always depends on who we have in the house," he chuckled @vincentxcastro.
Vincent nodded his head as Tomas spoke, he could tell could tell that Tomas was really passionate about what they did. He could also see that they cared so very much and he admired that. Vincent always admired people who were passionate about something. His job was his passion and he loved helping people, helping them grow and get better and through whatever they were dealing with.
"You should, they do have a special and deals going on today. It is one of the reasons we are grocery shopping today, normally we would have done this next week," he replied with a smile on his face. "Ah, our house is always stock with snacks. My oldest was the same, we were going to the store weekly when he was younger." @tomasxcooper
