Q. What can you say about Elio de Angelis? You didn't like him, as I remember...

A: Well, you've got that totally wrong... I loved Elio... Elio and I befriended each other: we spent a weekend together in Cannes... We had good times together. I loved him and, along with the others, I tried to save his life. It was a really terrible time at Paul Ricard when he died as we were the first on the scene. He was super person and a very talented young man. I miss him a lot.
