Pride

Dave got into a school fight. He got suspended and Bro had to pick him up.

Angst if you have context!!! Based off a memory as a Dave kin :3

uhhh be afraid. Relatively short. No clue how many words this has!!!

Dave threw his backpack into the car before climbing up into the backseat. He leaned back in the car, glancing off to the side. Everything ached. His shoulder especially, after being slammed down into the pavement. He glanced up at Bro in the review mirror, not daring to speak at all. “So.” Bro started, putting the car into drive after Dave had gotten situated in his seat. “You got into a fight?” The older asked, glancing up. Dave slowly nodded, a confirmation.

“I-“ Dave started before being quickly cut off by Bro.

“Did they see your freakish eyes?” He asked, his grip tightening on the steering wheel. Dave shook his head. They both fell into a quiet, not daring to react to one another. “..Did you win?” Bro suddenly asked. Dave had won. He quickly nodded, he was worried that Bro would be mad.

But the opposite happened.

Bros lips quirked into what would be almost called a smirk. “I’m proud.” Dave’s gaze shot up from his lap and looked at his brother from the backseat of the car.

Maybe things wouldn’t be so bad after all.
