this is perhaps evil but I can boost my mood in almost any situation by playing a game called "what was my mom doing at this age?" like rn for instance I'm sleepy because I had a 12 hour work day + stayed up late, and my stomach hurts a little from the enormous chimichanga I smashed for dinner, and my head hurts a little bit from the fat margaritas I had with the chimichanga. and it's like hmm, okay, not optimal, but when my mom was this age she had a 2.5 year old to deal with. can you fucking imagine. can't stay in bed decadently bemoaning your overindulgences because there's a goblin in the next room that's utterly dependent on you for food and hygiene and social needs and if you drop the ball you've fucked up a perfectly good person. and I'm pretty normal so shout out to her for keeping it together but god that couldn't be me, I like fucking around way too much.

Biphobia is not taken seriously in the LGBTQ community and is, in fact, actively encouraged. the end result is that there are a lot of self-hating bisexuals out there and they're not only expected to suffer through it silently and alone, it's also just the norm and considered, in some circles, a character flaw if you're not repentant for being bisexual. that is fucked up. your desire for men is just as valid and beautiful and pure as your desire for women and vice versa. you don't have to pick a side*. you don't have to feel bad for liking men. you don't have to apologize to strangers for liking men. you don't have to perform a fucking penance ritual for not being gay. you don't have to let people convince you you're straight. your bisexuality is real and authentic whether you're 50/50, 95/5, 60/40, 70/30, whether it fluctuates. fucking whatever. oh my god.

*bisexuality is and always has been inclusive of nonbinary people but this post is speaking specifically about the divide between sexual attraction among binary identities and the response to that attraction among binary people in the community

it does still make me insane specifically how many queer people lovingly embrace astrology. I went to a poetry workshop yesterday that was genuinely quite good but also included an option to disclose astrology designations during introductions and so many people broke out some variation of "I'm a [x] sum but I have a [y] placement and it SHOWS" girl no it doesn't. that's meaningless correlation you completely invented the causation

Okay but why am I grieving this ship like a lost pet. I can't even enjoy my vacation. I just realised how often I think of bucktommy. Like they're my roman empire. Everytime I used to think of them and automatically smile. "Such good bi rep in a primetime tv show" "life sucks but at least bucktommy is canon". I can't even bear to open ao3. Like I haven't even gotten to the point where I can read a fix it fic. The most heartwarming thing about this ship was that it made me feel so seen. It made me take more pride in my identity because it was a beautiful perfect canon queer ship.
