This is a clip of a shot out scene from a film called Slow West. I really enjoyed the cutaway shots in this scene as I also plan to do many cutaway shots for my senior project. I also like the way the character shoots the other characters: a close up shot of the face/gun and then a cutaway shot of the other person being injured. I also really liked how the shooters popped in and out of frame when they attacked in 1:13-1:17. That particular scene editing does not apply to my project since it's set inside instead of outside but I just thought I would mention it. The close up shots of objects being destroyed is also really nice. I might use that technique to show the bullets piercing the zombie's flesh.

Here are the main characters for my Zombie Western short film: Big Bill and Redner. Big Bill is a big tough guy who's kind of a bully. He takes his bounty hunting job seriously. Redner is a skinny, silly guy who loves fighting the zombies. He likes to have fun with his bounty hunting job.

Story Splines
Once upon a time: There was a cowboy named Big Bill who loved turkey legs.
And everyday: He would grill his turkey leg outside of his shack and eat it.
Until one day: Someone steals his turkey leg.
And because of that: He accuses a bounty hunter, Redner, of taking his turkey leg.
And because of that: Redner gets angry.
And because of that: Both agree to settle the conflict in a duel.
Until finally: A stranger admits that they stole the turkey leg, not Redner.
And since that day: The stranger has been ostracized from society for theft.
And the moral of the story is: Never steal another man’s turkey leg.
Once upon a time: There were two bounty hunters, Redner and Bill Big, who competed against each other.
And everyday: They met up at a saloon to brag about their rewards.
Until one day: Redner doesn't show up.
And because of that: Big Bill goes to look for Redner.
And because of that: Big Bill finds Redner stealing his newest reward.
And because of that: Big Bill and Redner get into a fight.
Until finally: Big Bill kills Redner in the duel.
And since that day: Big Bill has been feared among the people of the town.
And the moral of the story is: Don’t steal money from someone.
Once upon a time: Two rival bounty hunters, Big Bill and Redner, survived a zombie apocalypse.
And everyday: They met up at a saloon to discuss how many zombies they had killed.
Until one day: The saloon was overtaken by zombies.
And because of that: The bounty hunters had to work together to save the saloon.
And because of that: The zombies realized they were losing and morphed into one giant zombie.
And because of that: The bounty hunters used their pistols to shoot the giant zombie in the eye.
Until finally: The giant zombie was defeated.
And since that day: Big Bill and Redner are known as heroes and also, best friends.
And the moral of the story is: Two heads are better than one.
Once upon a time: There was a bounty hunter, Big Bill, who was feared in all the land.
And everyday: Big Bill sat in a saloon, waiting for someone to challenge him.
Until one day: A visitor, Redner, bursts in the saloon and takes a seat right next to Big Bill.
And because of that: Big Bill interrupts this as a threat.
And because of that: Big Bill challenges Redner to a duel.
And because of that: Redner and Big Bill fight to the death.
Until finally: Redner and Big Bill realize that they are both terrible fighters.
And since that day: Redner and Big Bill have been rivals.
And the moral of the story is: Don’t challenge someone unless you know how to fight.

Limitations
2 limitations for my senior project would be time management and my skill set. Time management is key when is comes to organizing any project. It can help make the project better by keeping track of what I am supposed to do and when I am supposed to do it. As for my skill set, I am currently taking the Advanced 3D Animation class. Hopefully by taking this class I can upgrade my skill set, ultimately improving the visual outcome of my project.

These are the moodboards I created for my senior project. I made them on Pinterest.
The first represents the style of character I would like. It's a very cartoony and stylized cowboy/bounty hunter character.
The second is for the environment of the project. It will take place in a saloon, which will also have a cartoonish style.
The third is for the color scheme. I want a lot of reds and browns to represent the wild west and the desert.
The fourth is an anti-moodboard. I want to stay away from the hyper-realism of the cowboy and the horse. I absolutely do not want to model and animate a horse. And I prefer the cartoon style of cowboy/bounty hunter over the realistic style.
