i hate all this peter quill/star-lord hate that’s going on but i think the reason it’s coming from mainstream media, casual fans, and avengers stans is that they just…aren’t familiar with how things work on the gotg side of things?

and what i mean by this is that starmora is actually…really different from most (if not all) the other mcu ships???? we know that peter and gamora spent 4 years just. really building their relationship while also living and working together on the daily between the end of vol. 2 and beginning of infinity war, which is, if you think about it, highkey different from most of the other ships. i think the one that comes closest is p*pperony, bc they’ve been a Thing on and off for the last 10ish years of marvel (aka since day 1).

but since no one outside of mcu stan hell seems to even recognize gamora by name in conversation (basically, casual fans/movie-goers), i’m not surprised they don’t know how established of an established relationship starmora is in iw. like, they’re Advanced Established Relationship, and have literally been together on the daily for 4 years, so of course peter is gonna act out and fuck shit up upon learning that she’s dead.

NOT TO MENTION that peter discovers she was killed by her lifelong abuser, who we’re all p sure gamora told peter about every now and then over the span of their relationship. so not only is peter grieving her, but you know he’s pissed as fuck, both at thanos and himself, and we know him to be an emotional and sentimental person from the last 2 gotg films, SO OFC HE’S GONNA LOSE HIS SHIT like fuck i was losing my gotdamn shit in the theater too.

so the moral of the story is: stop hating on peter quill, his relationship with gamora is literally on a different plane of existence from 99.9% of other mcu ships, he views this as him failing to protect gamora from the one (1) thing she, the most badass warrior and deadliest woman in the galaxy, was afraid of, i miss gamora, don’t @ me,
