If Alice doesn't want to go down the training and weaponry route, how about other fun activities?

I, for one, LOVE to bake and cook! We could always try out different recipes together and share them with the others! I don't mean to brag, but Kyra is first in line to try my goodies 💛

Or, if that doesn't strike your fancy, you could maybe chat and have a fun time styling yourself with the Aphrodite kids! Those in Demeter's cabin have quite the green thumb and do their part to tend to camp's plants.

Oh, there's also the options of singing and practicing the arts with your siblings in cabin #7!

She was unsuccessful.

"We need to hurry. I'm getting the feeling that something bad will happen if we don't leave this island soon..."

Alex stopped mid-speech, a sway in her step and and a pound to her head. She suddenly felt dizzy. Very dizzy.

But then, just as quickly as it appeared, the dizziness went away.

However, Alex immediately noticed that she felt... weaker...

"Hehe, yeah..."

Looking for a way to steer the conversation someplace else, Alex's darting eyes did a double take upon seeing the boat that brought her and Kiya to this island in the first place.

It was nowhere near fit for open waters, half of it practically destroyed, but maybe with some fine tuning...

"THAT'S IT!"

Alex unconsciously grabbed Lysantheia's wrist and brought them both closer to the boat.

"If we can just find a way to fix it, we can get off this island in no time!" Alex turned to address Lysantheia. "What tools do you have lying around?!"

Alex sighs, "Don't know what I was expecting."

In truth, Alex expected some form of "divine intervention", or something of the sort, that could fix all these problems, but that was highly unlikely considering Lysantheia's dilemma.

"Is there REALLY no way to contact our fellow demigods? Or maybe a signal for the coastguard!?"

"Kiya..." Alex takes Kiya's hands in her own. "Breathe."

Alex gently guides Kiya through a couple of deep breathing exercises.

Inhale...

Pause.

Exhale...

Alex smiled softly as Kiya slowly began to feel at peace once more.

"I-" Alex took a small breath of her own. "I don't know the answer, of whether or not the Gods truly care about us. I don't know if they just have us then leave without a care, or if they really do wonder and worry about us as much we do them. I don't know why they'll go out of their way to claim some..."

Alex looks down sadly.

"Only to leave the rest of us to fend for ourselves with no guidance or direction."

However, Alex looks back up with a glint in her eye.

"But, even if I'm not sure about those things, I'm still grateful."

Alex's smile grows brighter.

"Because of your dad, you were born! Because of my mom, I was born! Thanks to them, I was given the chance to meet you! Someone who is amazing, strong, bright, and does everything she can for everyone she lo-cares for!"

Alex coughs at that last bit, her cheeks growing red, before returning her gaze right into Kiya's.

"You're right, our parents being careless has ended up costing us a lot. But, even so, we've managed to pull through! Thanks to you, and her I guess..." Alex throws Lysantheia a fleeting glance, "I'm okay! We're okay! And I know we'll keep being okay!"

"Whether they have some sort of "divine" purpose for creating us, made us only to abandon us, or heck, simply had us to exist just for the heck of it, at the end of the day we were still born! We can choose to dwell on hypotheticals, or we can choose to keep going despite it all!"

But, after hearing such a small part of Lysantheia's story already start off so sad, Alex can't help but let herself guard down.
