i just wanna point out how fucked up it is that some kids (including yours truly) grew up with mental illnesses like anxiety and depression or ptsd etc and got fucking punished for it by their parent(s) because they think were being lazy or they blow up when we hurt ourselves or cry, like oh my god youre the parent you should help not make us feel worse and idk my dad is one of the main reasons i have depression and anxiety cause he made me feel as if my emotions were invalid, that i had to “suck it up” or “youre just being dramatic” and my mom would let him punish me she never once intervened and i just stopped talking about myself i felt as if i didnt matter
