Cutting some cherry down to size using the @amanatool #MD160-480 160mm diameter 48t blade from @toolstoday in Matt's @festool TSC55 track saw. - - - - - - - #TeamTOOLSTODAY - - - - - - - The @festool_usa MFT-3 made cutting these down to rough length much easier and the blade left a buttery smooth cut. Cutting a letter out of 6061 aluminum using @amanatool #51454-Z 1/8" ZrN Coated solid carbide spiral 'o' flute bit from @toolstoday on Matt's @axiomprecision AR8 Basic 24"x48" CNC with @vectricltd Aspire software both available on our website. - - - - - - - #TeamTOOLSTODAY - - - - - - - This bit gave a very nice clean cut and produced nice large aluminum chips! A quick build video showing how Matt made a log pencil holder using the @amanatool #660-230 Timberline 2-1/8" diameter carbide tipped forstner bit and the #49504 1/4" round over bit.  *What do you think of how this turned out? - - - - - - - #TeamTOOLSTODAY - - - - - - - First he starts off by making sure the face is flat on the disc sander. The log is then branded and the rough center is marked out. Using a notched out wooden clamp the log is held securely in place on the drill press. The #660-230 carbide forstner bit hogs out the wood with ease!  - - - - - - - A little bit of sanding with a drum sander attachment for a drill makes the inside buttery smooth. Each piece is rounded over with the #49504 1/4" round over bit leaving a nice smooth edge with no burning. Melting the @crayola Crayons into the pocket of this sign using a heat gun. A couple of things are different this time, a deeper pocket and I oriented them differently making bubbles less likely and making them easier to melt. Remaking the sign to be filled with crayons. Matt starts off using the @amanatool #46202-K 1/4" Diameter Spektra™ Coated downcut bit from @toolstoday on his @axiomprecision AR8 Basic 24"x48" CNC, available on our website. - - - - - - - #TeamTOOLSTODAY - - - - - - - RPM: 18,000 Feed Rate: 80ipm Plunge Rate: 40ipm Depth per pass: .125" - - - - - - - He did this in two passes because he was worried about the walnut separating from the plywood underneath if it was cut too aggressively. He then followed it up with the #46225-K 1/8" Diameter Spektra™ Coated downcut bit from leaving a nice clean top surface. - - - - - - - RPM: 18,000 Feed Rate: 60ipm Plunge Rate: 30ipm Depth per pass: .125" - - - - - - - The tabs were flush trimmed and the bottom was rounded over using the #MR0110 mini 3/16" ball bearing roundover bit for a nice finish.
