Treehouse Wednesday

Welcome to CC's first Art Party! ♥ We plan to run every fourth Wednesday of the month; if we need to change dates, we'll make it clear in the announcement post, but it'll always be on a Wednesday.

The purpose of this art party is to get artists together and have fun practicing our chosen mediums in a low-energy environment, so don't worry about making a big polished piece while you're here, low-energy can also mean low-effort if you need it to. Don't stress yourself out with technical quality, this is about emotional quality :) everyone loves art of their little guys!!

Make sure you're comfortable, then come settle in and draw with us! We hope to see you there! ♥

The tree house is northeast of the Shaemoor Waypoint, just outside of Divinity's Reach. (Every character has access to this waypoint immediately after the tutorial!) There's a small space in the tree, a larger space by the campfire, and a spot across the river. So the exact spot may shift a little each month, but we'll always be in the same general area!

trying to scrape my art drive back off the floor, please have the results of my random desire to draw a barely-used alt in his new role as master artificer (for the purpose of getting Aurene's staff for Azurah).

He's an elementalist named Frithrah Skyblaze, and was originally just made on a whim to 1) find the minimum amount of scrungly a male charr could get and 2) theme a character around Frith and see how many related names were taken (I had to give up and append a 'band name, good job GW2 community)

Going back and posting art that I forgot to post. My precious baby girl. The world's worst necromancer. The world's most okayest apothecary. Queen of long-limbs and tripping over her guildmates. This was just an early doodle a few weeks ago to re-familiarize myself with her design and vibes.

I feel like not enough people know about the fan songs that have been made for Guild Wars 2 and this is, quite frankly, criminal. Making songs, whether original or parody was super popular in the 2010s, and it's still going a little bit these days, but not as much.

It's an amazing rabbit hole to go down, that will keep you entertained for a while, and it sure beats Doomscrolling. So here's some of my favourites from different artists.

"That's Guild Wars 2" By Suck at Love / Beyond Repair. They also have a lot of songs about the EoD elite specs, some songs about life before Heart of Thorns, like the Super Adventure Box song, Silverwastes Serenades, and Ice Bow 4 (I'm gonna miss you) are all great bangers.

Parody of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call me maybe" called "Subject Alpha" by Sharm. Sharm has done some amazing songs for Guild Wars 2 (and a lot of WoW stuff too) including a song about the quaggan "Poobadoo", A wonderfuly put together version of the Zephyrite song that you hear around Labrynthine Cliffs, and a parody of "In the jungle" with the banger line of "Caithe's in egg-stacy".

And then there's people like Sammpo who do really cool videos but leave the vocals up to the others, like the female vocalist from Suck At Love/Beyond repair, and "BeatKnete". This one's a parody of Castle of Glass by Linkin Park. And it's about WvW!

And finally, community collab! Skar does some really cool covers of stuff, and some of them are absolutely stunning (Shout out to the Final Fantasy cover of "Answers" which is just... beautiful.) But this one he got people from around the Guild Wars 2 community to sing the Dragon Bash "Bash the dragon" song and put it into a video. He's done some other covers of things like the "World without you" song from End of Dragons, "Fear not this night" and a few other bits and bobs.
