I seriously just saw someone have a trigger warning tag for Lin-Manuel Miranda
I mean I understand disliking the guy for whatever reason, but a trigger warning? Really?
see this is why no one takes triggers seriously anymore

I feel like Tumblr encourages and even rewards people for being assholes towards innocent people and that’s just messed up

“You can’t ship *enter ship name here*!! It triggers people and It makes me uncomfortable!!”
Well I’m sorry bitch but, contrary to popular belief, I don’t live to make you comfortable.

I want to say my opinions
I want to argue for my beliefs
But I know I’m going to lose all my friends if I do, and I don’t think I want to risk that

@ mutual
you’re my friend and I don’t want to stop being your friend, but the fact that you support the suppression of free speech (even for a generally noble cause) worries me

Handy guide on how to handle it when you discover that an artist/writer/person ships a fictional ship that is not entirely morally sound (incest/age gap/etc.)
1. acknowledge that the thing is indeed bad irl 2. understand that shipping the ship in fiction =/= condoning or encouraging the thing irl 3. understand that everyone has reasons for shipping what they do and that no one is obligated to share those reasons with you 4. mind your own business 5. mind your own business 6. mind your own damn business

Does anyone else just get like really stubbornly indifferent towards a popular character? Like you don’t feel hateful but you feel yourself giving less fucks and falling deeper into fuck deficit every time people gush about how great they are and its kinda like being at a party where everyone else is having a good time and you’re awkwardly standing in the corner with the underappreciated dog.

so far the anti shipping movement has done nothing to slow or stop the fictional content they are against or stop real abusers but it has stressed out and harmed the mental health of a lot of survivors, teenagers, vulnerable individuals who mean no harm and inflicted damage through harassment so i guess you get that

I honestly don’t get why people draw characters with darker skin than canon because “representation”
As a brown-skinned person let me tell you that you’re not adding any representation at all. Changing the skin color of a character isn’t representation because it doesn’t change the fact that the character isn’t that dark skinned in canon. Not to mention that the character become almost unrecognizable when you draw them like that.
Tbh I think most of you are just doing because fetishization and because “let’s piss whitey off” or whatever
