[6:15pm] “He loves me, he loves me not…” you trail off when you get to the last petal and pluck it off with a heavy sigh. Suddenly, a tiny petal clutched between two much larger fingers, is in your line of vision, “He loves you.” You swallow a gasp as Oikawa’s velvety voice travels all throughout your body, leaving goosebumps in its wake. He chuckles when he notices you shiver, and wraps his plaid scarf around your neck, “Didn’t I tell you to keep warm, sweetheart? It’s cold outside.” You nod, and take his offered hand, starting your trek to the train station. You’d been waiting for him after volleyball practice outside the gym where you found the small flowerbeds. Usually, on days you didn’t have your own club activity, you’d head home, but today was special after all. “Do you want to grab dinner before we head home?” you bite your lip hesitantly, refusing to meet his eyes. A frown slips onto your face when he stops walking, “W-we don’t have to,” you add quickly, looking up at him wide-eyed. He narrows his eyes at you, “I do, I just want to know why you can’t look at me, did I do something wrong?” You shake your head, no, “It’s not that, it’s just, this our first Valentines together, I’m a bit nervous, I’m not sure if I’m doing this right.” You had made him homemade chocolates and already given them to him this morning, but you barely spent any time together during the day due to different classes, and then volleyball practice after. Tooru smiles and pulls you flush against him, placing a kiss on your forehead right in the middle of the sidewalk, “You don’t have to worry about a thing, you’re perfect.”

and with that, he talked for days about how your eyes were the most beautiful thing in the world, and he still swears to you, after years of relationship, that he saw fireworks when he first met you
