people keep saying "we have to separate the art from the artist" which I think is dumb. you don't HAVE to separate the art from the artist. that's a choice. the idea that an artist's character isn't entwined in their work is absurd. that doesn't mean throw it all in the bin, but what people should really do is examine the art more closely, better informed of what kind of morals and worldviews could be embedded within it, not pretend it wasn't made by a monster.

Some people write poetry
That's makes you want to rip your heart out
And swallow it
just to feel how it feels
to have someone give you your heart

I am so sorry to bother you with this stupid question, but Bisan has asked for a complete stop in economic activity. Can I still donate to help Palestinians or is it better to avoid any transactions for the week ? Thank you so much for what you're doing
hello anon. don't apologise, you're a breath of fresh air after the recent visitors in my inbox. I think a slightly more accurate description of Bisan’s ask is to stop or minimise all economic activity not in direct support of Palestine. Now more than ever, I would encourage people to donate to escape funds for Palestinians, to direct aid organisations like CareforGaza and the PCRF, and to buy e-sims as they’re running low.
Below I’ve compiled a list of resources below but this is definitely just a small sample size of what you can do to help during this strike. This post here is an extremely comprehensive resource that I’d recommend you have a look at.
credible organisations that are doing work on the ground in Palestine:
Care for Gaza:non-profit charity that distributes money, food and other resources directly to families in Gaza. They maintain a regular presence on Twitter and Instagram. You can donate to them via Paypal here.
PCRF / Palestine Children's Relief Fund: non-profit organisation that distributes essential food and resources to families in Gaza. Most recently, they delivered 30 tons of vital medicine, and 82,000 pounds of flour.
Medical Aid For Palestinians: deploys medical teams to treat Palestinians suffering under Israel's malicious bombardments.
Donate e-sims to Palestine: massive post with tutorials and relevant links, with discount codes included in the post and in the replies.
help people leave palestine (donate what you can)
Help a Family Evacuate Gaza (GoGetFunding)
Save Sanaa and her Family (Gofundme)
Save Amjad Saher and his family (Gofundme)
Help a family of 13 escape Gaza (Gofundme)
Help a Palestinian children's book illustrator save her family of 12 (Gofundme)

To live in this world you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go.

ShiVi: Darmiyaan
Chapter 1: The night before
I was in the kitchen, wiping up the last of the dishes from breakfast, when I heard Gombi call out " Shiva! Raavi! Come here." Perplexed, I dried my hands and proceeded to make my way to the courtyard. Wondering if Gombi was calling us for another earful on how Shiva and I should stop arguing, I recalled last night...
It had been a silly argument. I had been in the middle of my online class when Shiva had barged in our room to change his clothes after work. Engrossed in my class with headphones, I hadn't heard him enter nor had he expected me in the room as I usually studied on the roof, enjoying the cool wind.
Spaced out, I was half asleep as my professor rattled on about some marketing principle. Suddenly, my eyes landed on Shiva as he slowly made his way to me as he reached out and caressed my face. I let out a small sigh of content, when...
"Chipkali, What are you doing here?", Shiva exclaimed as I realised that he was not a fiction of my imagination and was standing in the room, shirt in hand.
My cheeks heated as I realised he had been undressing! Alarmed, I stood up and in the process spilled all my notes and stuff on floor as I noticed Shiva scrambling to cover himself. "You Mami ki bhen ki beti what are you doing here! I am not going -" Shiva screamed as he slipped on my pen and came crashing onto me on the bed. "Shiva!", I exclaimed as I he fell onto me.
Struggling to support his weight, I felt him go still and move away a bit. When I finally met his gaze, I felt time stop. A strange intensity held his eyes, in which I saw a mixture of sadness and longing. My heart constricted feeling the same. I wondered why he made sure to remind me that he hates me when his eyes screamed differently. I wondered if it was just my mind reflecting my hearts desires. Then just as suddenly, he pushes himself off me as if he was burnt. Suddenly, a wave of fatigue ran over me as I closed my eyes to compose myself.
"Chipkali, Why are you here? Couldn't you make my day any worse? You have made such a mess of the room.." Shiva rattled on in nervousness. Never backing from an argument, I met his silly accusations with some of mine. Startled by our sounds, Dhara Bhabhi came rushing in with worry and soon came everyone else.
Engrossed in ourselves, we continued throwing accusations and names just for the sake of doing it. Never did our fights mean any harm, it was like a bad habit that we could never leave. After I came back home, we had an understanding to never discuss our marriage or the lack of it. We fell back into our pre-marraige banter.
"Bhagodi ki beti, be careful!!" Maa exclaimed as we swirled our heads to notice just in time, Gombi holding Dhara up. Seconds from slipping on a pen. Gombi carried a pale Dhara Bhabhi to her room and ordered us back to our rooms strictly. Unable to meet anyone's eyes, we hurried to clear the room, silently.

ShiVi: Darmiyaan
Couple: Shiva & Raavi
Show: Pandya Store
*Takes place after Raavi's return to Pandya Nivas*
PROLOGUE
Raavi
It had been almost a month since I returned home to Pandya Nivas. A month since I made a truce with him to stay here for Dhara Bhabhi. Slowly, I had fallen into the routine of taking care of Dhara Bhabhi, doing my online classes and our cold war. As the days went by my heart hurt less. Maybe it was because I was still with him in a way or maybe it was just as they say, time heals all wounds.
But I forgot that time never forgets...

Yes, Esra, I'm out of my mind. What do you expect me to do? What do you want me to say? Yes, I'm insanely jealous. Yes, this company, everything was created for you. I hoped one day you'd come and see me. [...] Esra, I never forgot you. I was madly in love with you and you left me. I spent months wondering why. I always blamed you, Esra. I couldn't forget you but that doesn't matter now. Nothing matters now; everything is in the past. The only thing I want is you and I know you want me as well. [...] Esra, don't deny it. You look at me the same way I look at you. You also fell in love. [...] Esra, don't leave this time.

“When you start to know someone, all their physical characteristics start to disappear. You begin to dwell in their energy, recognize the scent of their skin. You see only the essence of the person, not the shell. That’s why you can’t fall in love with beauty. You can lust after it, be infatuated by it, want to own it. You can love it with your eyes and your body but not your heart. And that’s why, when you really connect with a person’s inner self, any physical imperfections disappear, become irrelevant.”

oh, i am finally old enough to know why my parents took so long to grab their coats. why they would ask us to get ready to go only to sit down for another round of coffee. what would i tell myself, at 10 years old? it’s okay. sit down with them too. take in the extra hour with your friend and her family. when you get home, write down every moment in your diary. one day you will be older and you will be waving goodbye to your best friend, and you will turn the key to start your beat up little car engine, and you will look back over your shoulder. her hair will be blowing in the wind and she will be beautiful and you will be, for a moment, struck by all of it. what you will feel is so wide and nameless that it will engulf you. and you will think of being 14 and kicking her under the table in math every time you wanted to whisper something behind the teacher’s back. you will think about how long the days felt, and how you could hold her hand whenever you wished, but you didn’t. and you will think about all of the people you could have lingered with. and you will wish, more than you have ever felt a wish, that the universe just gave you that - more time to linger. more time to say - i love you. i know i need to leave, but i don’t want to leave you. and when i go, i am leaving a piece of my heart that lingers too.
one more round of coffee. the days are so short, and you are so lovely.

Note
atleast annika can stand up to shivaay khushi didnt even do that
Tumblr media
I’m not sitting here and arguing Khushi vs Annika with you, anon. While I will agree that Annika’s spirit is amazing and I value her as a female character, I am not going to undermine Khushi’s considerable strength to do it.
It’s not so easy to just “stand up” to someone, anon. Annika grew up self-reliant and independent and all around a feisty fighter. While her Buaji abused her, Annika knew, and correctly so, that she didn’t owe her Bua so much as a speck of dirt. Khushi grew up being emotionally manipulated and dependant on the people who she already felt she had a debt to.
“You’ve proved you’re not my daughter.”
“Since we took her in…”
“If she was Payal’s real sister..”
I want you to imagine meeting someone like Arnav and having them have that kind of power over you, and this is without watching the show and knowing that he is in love with her, and then imagine how easily you could tell him to go fuck himself. When you believe that your sister’s marriage is dependent on his compliance? When you’ve already been disowned by the only family you had?
Not so easy.
And yet, she lives through it. She finds a way to make things work, she finds a way to get her family back. It’s not right to undermine the strength it takes to do all of that too.
Khushi did stand up to Arnav. When they got married, Arnav’s goal was to punish her for what he thought was her role in Shyam’s treachery. He wanted to make her hurt and make her unhappy. When she made the best of her situation and continued to laugh and smile and make others happy, she told him to fuck himself because he couldn’t and wouldn’t bring her down.
When she told him she wouldn’t explain herself to him because she didn’t think he deserved it, she stood up to him. And if that way of handling issues isn’t enough for you, she screamed at him, she yelled at him, she told him he was a monster, she told him she never should have expected anything more from him than cruelty. She fine-tuned her methods of dealing with Arnav to match her situation.
Annika and Khushi are different women. Their methods of handling situations will be different too.
