if I had a nickel for ever time I clicked on a lestappen fic, realised it reads suspiciously ai generated, clicked on the author’s profile and saw they’re somehow posting 8-20k long fics every single day and they all sound ai-generated I would have two nickels. which is not a lot but very upsetting that it happen twice. in one week.

between you and me i’d have enough nickels to buy max to mercedes

sometimes i look around me and i feel so lonely. people tell me that I don't belong, that i have no right to be here, that my existence is wrong. but i don't get it. i was made with care and love too. I'm more perfect than everyone else in fact, so i don't get why i shouldn't be here because clearly I'm the best guy around. it feels so isolating. is it because..... I'm.......ai generated?

I feel like you are one of the only blogs talking about the AI situation, I'm so tired of going to the lestappen tag and seeing 3+ different fics updated from the same users (should I refer to them as writers?) with 15k in each chapter every two (or less!) days. And I should also add: the plots always seem like rewrites of other relatively successful fics in the fandom.

(English is not my first language I don't know if I wrote this correctly but hopefully you get my point)

def not the only one talking abt it but i am Extra Pressed today. i agree - the sheer number of words is the main red flag. none of the writers i know, even if we didn’t have jobs and schools and lives and could sit and write all day — could write that much.

plots — i’m a little more lenient just bc the idea of tropes vs plots vs common ideas etc is a bit harder but yeah 👍

it’s just frustrating. we’re talking about gay millionaire athletes fucking here people. why tf is ai getting involved

taking a short pause from the anti-ai posting to address another major issue: plagiarism!

it feels almost silly to say but this fic is a blatant plagiarism of this larry stylinson fic. i almost struggle to believe that this was done as anything other than a joke - nevermind that the author has accidentally left in the occasional "harry" and "louis" in there, but all chapter names are the original one direction songs. and to make matters worse - no commenting allowed!

not a single effort was made to change anything other than the names. see below.

genuinely fuck off. not only do i think that if you’re willing to use ai images, then i’m almost certain you’re willing to use ai to write — but this discredits the incredible talent of the artists we have in this community.

They smoke the whole joint together in the yard, Carlos's back to his brothers doing the same. Carlos holds it delicately between his fingers and takes the first hit before carefully handing it to Lando as he blows out the smoke. Lando takes it greedily and puts his mouth where Carlos's just was. As he breathes in, he makes eye contact with Carlos's wide, deep eyes and splutters.  Lando feels the joint settling into his mind as he watches Carlos take the last hit. His thick bottom lip puckers around the end as he closes his eyes and holds it in, long enough Lando knows if it were him, he would have coughed by now. When Carlos finally expels it out into the cold air, Lando shivers watching the smoke. 

Or, the one where Lando finds himself in a situationship with a frat brother.
