This has been my mantra for the past week and a half. Last week more so than this week. Last week was a tough week. Lots of things going at once and there were hiccups in just about everything. Big hiccups (that aren’t 100% worked out just yet), but I just keep reminding myself that it'll all work out and to just breathe.... that He's got this.

Y'all. These #pentelofamerica brush pens are seriously some of my favorite pens for lettering. And now they're at Target (I've always had to order them online). They're perfect for learning to hand letter and there are so many fun colors! Get thee to Target! Just don't get sticker shock.... they aren't cheap. Oh y'all. This past weekend was crazy busy, and while I technically got an extra day for my weekend (thank you warranty people for coming to the house today), it was far from stress free. My kiddos are keeping us crazy busy with school and Birthday parties, and lacrosse five out of seven days a week. And then let's don't forget about band! So. Many. Things. And I shouldn't whine really, because truthfully I'm quite thankful that my children have the opportunity to participate in all of these activities. #moderncalligraphy #handlettering #handlettered #brushlettered #brushlettering #brushcalligraphy

I've had this little chalkboard since school started and couldn't decide exactly what I wanted to do with it. I finally decided that it would be great for a teacher appreciation gift for my kiddo's teacher. I learned some lessons when lettering it. For example, my white paint pen stinks. And #drphmartins Bleed Proof White ink works fabulously when you don't have white acrylic paint. Should I offer this type of thing in my Etsy shop? #handlettered #handlettering #moderncalligraphy

Never thought to use color pencils on kraft paper before. I've always loved kraft paper, but I'm really liking the color pencil on it. And these aren't even expensive pencils. They're @crayola watercolor pencils (which are awesome for those adult coloring books, especially when paired with a waterbrush) They're much more vibrant than I thought they would be on the tan paper. Also, it's easier for me to shade with pencil than marker. Go figure. #calligrabasics #cb_paper #handlettered #handlettering #moderncalligraphy #lettered #lettering #crayolacalligraphy

Oh, I’m a bit rusty. This is what happens when life gets in the way of things and you don’t have the time you want for creating. Add to that the creative rut I’ve managed to find myself in the past few weeks and bam!
