The visual development of Princess Flower-in-the-Night. 

When doing the visual development of Flower-in-the-Night, I enjoyed designing her outfit most because I like fashion, lace, accessory… 

I changed her look few times because it was very hard to integrate her personality with her beautiful look. 

Besides, I tended to add too much details to her and I needed to simplify it at the end.

The visual development of the Strangian Soldier for “Castle in the Air”, by Diana Wynne Jones .

As Abdullah continued his journey, Genie brought him to Ingary, a foreign country to him….And then he met the Strangian soldier, he was also a traveller from other country. It is quiet hard for me to decide which country’s costume should I base on for the soldier’s outfit. After re-read the book to find some hints and reference,  I finally decided to design his base on Russian folk costume.

I kind of like and satisfy with the illustration of Abdullah and the soldier as a toad. It was super fun to turn them into a toad!
