What a cutie
Tumblr media
You guuuuuuuuuyssss 😭💕 Meet Kina. The little one. Wally and Kuki's baby girl.
Here are a few things about her:
Why the name Kina? First, I wanted a name that starts with K because with the exception of her eye color, she looks just like her mom. Second, I knew I wanted a Japanese name, and it just so happens that Kina is a Japanese name that means "rejoice", which I think is very fitting for the very happy and loving relationship that her parents have. Lastly, her name was inspired by the music artist Kina Grannis, whose wholesome and loving music has been a constant companion of mine while writing the Bookend series.
Why is her color yellow? Because her mom's color is green, and her dad's color is orange, and both colors have yellow in common.
Why does she have a purple Rainbow Monkey? Her dad bought that for her the day she was born. (You read that right. The dude who hates Rainbow Monkeys bought one for his baby girl.) Wally doesn't have a reason for choosing the color purple, but I do. Kina has a purple Rainbow Monkey because her aunts and uncles are collectively the colors blue and red, which combined produce the color purple.
So there you go, friends. My babies had a baby. 😭💕

Whenever I think of the canon versions of the teenage characters in the show. They’re put into three categorizes
- waisted potential
- the writers not knowing what to actually do with them and was making things up on the fly
- a combination of both
And it make my brain be like this whenever I think about it
Tumblr media
Do you agree. Yes or no. Explain
As I want to have (an hopefully civil) conservation about the writing/framing of the teenage characters when it comes to their characterization, plot points, backstory, etc in the comment section
Also no I’m not saying I can do better or anything. I just want to have a conversation with the fandom when it comes to the shows writing.

Wally Headcanon
Wally has a habit of angry crying when he gets really frustrated, a trait he's deeply insecure about. For context, his angry crying is a mix of emotions being high, feeling powerless, and having no control over the situation, combined with an emotional buildup that he can’t contain. As a kid, he was often bullied for it, with people mocking him by calling him "Cryabee" and singing taunting songs, labeling him a "sissy." The teasing left a lasting impact, making Wally determined to suppress his frustration and avoid crying in front of others. Despite his best efforts, he still struggles to control it sometimes.
In Sector V, only Hoagie and Kuki know about this. Hoagie stumbled upon it during a particularly rough mission, where the pressure overwhelmed Wally and he couldn’t hold back. Kuki found out when Wally accidentally let his guard down around her during a vulnerable moment. Both friends are supportive and never tease him, instead offering him comfort and understanding, knowing how much it affects him

✨ Sector V Height Chart + Growth Patterns (AU Version) ✨
I've been doing a lot of research and careful consideration when figuring out the official heights for Sector V in my AU. Using their proportions from the show as a reference, I wanted to keep their height dynamics true to the original while adding a bit more realism for their late teen versions! Here's what I've gathered,My frame of reference:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Incase can't read the Height Order is
Hoagie > Abby > Nigel > Kuki > Wally
And based on that i estimated it to be:
Hoagie: ~ 4'11 '
Abby: ~ 4' 10 '
Nigel: ~ 4'9 ' ( he's slightly taller then kuki but shorter then Abby so this works ig)
Kuki: ~4'8' (slightly taller then wally)
Wally: ~ 4'6 '
📊 Growth Patterns Breakdown:
I also tracked their height progression from ages 10-18 for extra depth! From the oeder and the background some see these are my personal headcanons such as Hoagie have a Italian lineage from Grandma side of the family.
So with that here's the official heights/ growth progressions for sector V in my au:
Nigel’s Height Progression
His height progression is based on the typical growth pattern of British boys during puberty. I aimed for a steady, moderate increase in height that plateaus around adulthood.
10 years old: 4'9" (144.8 cm)
11 years old: 4'11" (149.9 cm)
12 years old: 5'0" (152.4 cm)
13 years old: 5'2" (157.5 cm)
14 years old: 5'3" (160 cm)
15 years old: 5'4" (162.6 cm)
16 years old: 5'4½" (164.5 cm)
17 years old: 5'5" (165.1 cm)
18 years old: 5'5" (165.1 cm)
Growth Pattern
Age 10 to 11: Grew 2 inches (from 4'9" to 4'11").
Age 11 to 12: Grew 1 inch (from 4'11" to 5'0").
Age 12 to 13: Grew 2 inches (from 5'0" to 5'2").

Age 17 to 18: No growth (remained at 5'5") – height stabilizes.
Hoagie’s Height Progression
His growth pattern is a mix between American and Italian influences, given his Italian heritage from his grandmother's side (which I personally prefer over him being fully Italian). His height is above average but not extreme, with a gradual and consistent increase.
10 years old: 4'11" (149.9 cm)
11 years old: 5'1" (154.9 cm)
12 years old: 5'2½" (158.8 cm)
13 years old: 5'4" (162.6 cm)
14 years old: 5'5" (165.1 cm)
15 years old: 5'6" (167.6 cm)

Age 17 to 18: No growth (remained at 5'7") – height stabilizes.
Kuki’s Height Progression
Kuki’s height progression is based on the typical growth pattern of a Japanese girl, leading to a petite but proportional stature compared to the others.
10 years old: 4'7½" (141 cm)
11 years old: 4'9½" (146 cm)
12 years old: 4'11" (149.9 cm)
13 years old: 5'0" (152.4 cm)

Age 13 to 14: Grew 1 inch (from 5'0" to 5'1") – puberty growth continues.
Age 14 to 15: Grew 1 inch (from 5'1" to 5'2") – steady growth.
Age 15 to 16: Grew ½ inch (from 5'2" to 5'2½") – nearing adult height.
Age 16 to 17: Grew ½ inch (from 5'2½" to 5'3") – final growth phase.
Age 17 to 18: No growth (remained at 5'3") – height stabilizes.
Wally’s Height Progression
His growth pattern is purely based on the typical Australian boy's growth, which tends to be on the shorter spectrum. His height remains the shortest in the group while still reflecting realistic growth stages.
10 years old: 4'6" (137.2 cm)
11 years old: 4'7½" (140 cm)
12 years old: 4'9" (144.8 cm)

Age 15 to 16: Grew 1 inch (from 5'1" to 5'2") – nearing adult height.
Age 16 to 17: Grew ¼ inch (from 5'2" to 5'2¼") – final stages of growth.
Age 17 to 18:Grew ¼ inch (from 5'2¼" to 5'2½") – height stabilizes.
Abby’s Height Progression
Her growth pattern blends both American and French influences, as she has a mixed lineage. I referenced both regions for a balanced height trajectory, keeping her on the taller side for female characters.
10 years old: 4'10½" (148.6 cm)
11 years old: 5'0½" (153.7 cm)
12 years old: 5'2" (157.5 cm)
13 years old: 5'3" (160 cm)
14 years old: 5'4" (162.6 cm)
15 years old: 5'5" (165.1 cm)
16 years old: 5'5 ½" (166.4 cm)
17 years old: 5'6" (167.6 cm)
18 years old: 5'6" (167.6 cm)

Age 11 to 12: Grew 1½ inches (from 5'0½" to 5'2").
Age 12 to 13: Grew 1 inch (from 5'2" to 5'3").
Age 13 to 14: Grew 1 inch (from 5'3" to 5'4") – puberty growth continues steadily.
Age 14 to 15: Grew 1 inch (from 5'4" to 5'5") – nearing final growth phase.
Age 15 to 16: Grew ½ inch (from 5'5" to 5'5½") – growth slowing.
Age 16 to 17: Grew ½ inch (from 5'5½" to 5'6") – final growth.
Age 17 to 18: No growth (remained at 5'6") – height stabilizes.
I based this on both visual references and realistic height patterns for their ages. Of course, this is just my AU interpretation and subject to further tweaks if needed! Let me know what you think

A Flicker Of Hope
Fandom: Codename: Kids Next Door
Rating: T
Summary: After a devastating revelation about his ex-girlfriend’s betrayal, Wally is left reeling with hurt and confusion. Hoagie, his best friend, steps up to offer comfort, offering him a safe space to recover from the emotional storm. As they unwind with a movie and settle for the night, Wally’s emotional wall begins to crack, and through a heartfelt message from Kuki, he finds a flicker of hope and love amidst the darkness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hoagie sprawled across his bed, one arm lazily propped behind his head, the other holding his phone just the right way to avoid the glare from his laptop. The blue glow of the screen bathed the room in a soft, shifting light, casting shadows across a desk cluttered with gears, wires, and open toolkits—a chaotic reminder of his latest invention spree. On the laptop, blueprints for his newest flying contraption were displayed, filled with messy scribbles and half-erased calculations. A soda can teetered on the edge of the desk, dangerously close to spilling onto a pile of half-eaten snacks below.
“I’m telling you, Abs,” Hoagie said, grinning as he shifted the phone to dodge the laptop’s glare. “This design is gonna blow Wiztech Robotics Club’s project outta the water. Literally. They’ll need scuba gear to fish out the pieces when I’m done with it.” Abby’s voice crackled faintly through the speaker, laced with wry amusement. “Uh-huh. Just make sure you don’t blow yourself up in the process, Hoagie. You remember the popcorn machine incident?” “Hey, that was one time!” Hoagie shot back, laughing. He absentmindedly traced the edge of his blanket with his fingers. “This is different. Precision engineering, Abs. Well, mostly. There was that one test flight where—”
A sudden, frantic pounding on the front door shattered the calm, the sharp noise echoing through the quiet house like a firecracker. Hoagie shot upright, nearly dropping his phone. “Hold up,” he muttered, sliding off the bed. He grabbed the hoodie draped over the back of his chair and pulled it on as he hurried toward the noise. “Someone better not be starting drama at this hour,” Abby quipped, but there was a trace of curiosity in her voice. “Unless it’s Nigel showing up to admit he actually misses us,” Hoagie replied with a smirk, tugging the hoodie over his head. The pounding grew louder, sharp and relentless, rattling the door in its frame. Hoagie’s frown deepened as he descended the stairs, the cold hardwood sending a chill through his bare feet with each step.
Outside, the faint yellow glow of the streetlamp spilled through the windows, casting long, eerie shadows that danced across the walls. "Alright, alright, keep your pants on!" Hoagie muttered, his voice barely audible over the pounding at the door. He shuffled down the dimly lit hallway, the faint glow from his laptop upstairs casting long shadows along the walls, making the house feel eerily still at this late hour. As he reached the door, Hoagie hesitated, his hand hovering over the lock. The steady thump of his pulse drowned out everything else, and a creeping unease settled over him. Who the heck would be pounding on his door at almost midnight? He took a deep breath, pushed the tension down, and turned the lock. The door creaked open.
"Wally?" The name slipped out, thick with confusion and surprise, tightening his throat as his eyes landed on the disheveled figure standing in the weak glow of the porch light. Wally looked like he’d been through hell. His usually messy blonde hair was a wild, tangled mess, and his jacket hung unevenly off one shoulder. Streaks of dirt and grime clung to him as if he’d walked through a storm. His hands were buried deep in his jacket pockets, and his foot tapped a restless rhythm against the porch, matching the tension in his posture. “What the crud happened to you?” Hoagie asked, his voice low and cautious, eyes scanning his friend for any signs of injury. “What are you doing here?” he added, glancing at the clock on the wall. “It’s almost midnight.” Wally’s eyes flicked toward him, then quickly darted away. His jaw tightened, and for a moment, he was silent, the heavy quiet making Hoagie shift uncomfortably.
Finally, in a clipped, impatient tone, Wally muttered, “Can Oi cum in or whot?” Hoagie blinked, momentarily thrown off by Wally’s curt response. “Uh, yeah. Sure.” He stepped aside, holding the door open wider. Wally brushed past him without another word, the cool night air slipping in behind him. His movements were stiff, hurried, weighed down by something Hoagie couldn’t see but could feel in the heavy atmosphere. As Hoagie shut the door, the metallic snap of the lock echoed louder than it should have, amplifying the uneasy silence. His phone buzzed in his pocket, a reminder that Abby was still on the call. “Hoagie, what’s going on? Who’s at the door?” Abby’s voice crackled through, distant and faint. “It’s Wally,” Hoagie murmured, his eyes following his friend as he disappeared into the kitchen.
The muffled clatter of cupboard doors opening and slamming shut filled the air, jagged and restless, matching the uneasy energy Wally carried with him. “What? At this time of night?” Abby’s voice sharpened through the phone, the static doing little to mask the concern in her tone. “What’s he even doing there?” “I don’t know yet,” Hoagie admitted, the knot in his stomach tightening. He ran a hand through his messy hair, the tension in his voice palpable. "But he looks like he’s been through hell. Really bad.” “Alright, but keep an eye on him, okay?” Abby’s voice softened, a quiet urgency threading through her words. “If it’s Wally, it’s gotta be something serious.” “Yeah,” Hoagie muttered, his gaze locked on the soft light spilling from the kitchen. “I’ll call you later.” After ending the call, he slipped the phone into his hoodie pocket and approached the source of the noise. Hoagie stopped short at the kitchen doorway, his eyes narrowing as he took in the scene.
Wally was standing by the fridge, bathed in the pale light spilling from it, a carton of juice in his hand. The cap dangled loosely between his fingers, and the bottle half-raised to his mouth. But before Wally could take a sip, he froze. His shoulders stiffened as if he sensed Hoagie’s presence. Then, almost reluctantly, he shoved the carton back into the fridge and slammed the door shut with a loud, deliberate thud. Hoagie stepped forward, crossing his arms. “Okay, first off, gross. At least use a glass. And second, what the heck is going on? You show up here at midnight, looking like you’ve been hit by a bus, and now you’re raiding my fridge?” Wally didn’t answer. His jaw clenched as he turned away, his movements sharp and agitated. Hoagie’s stomach twisted when he saw Wally’s gaze flicker toward the upper cabinets—the ones Hoagie’s mom used to stash the liquor. It hit him instantly. “Oh, no. Nope. No way.”
Hoagie moved quickly, stepping between Wally and the cabinet, blocking his path with an outstretched arm. “You’re not seriously looking for booze, are you?” Wally’s glare could have cut glass. His hands clenched into fists at his sides, and his voice came out low and strained. “Move.” “Move?” Hoagie repeated, his eyebrows shooting up in disbelief. “Are you hearing yourself right now? Dude, what’s going on with you? You show up out of nowhere, looking like you crawled out of a dumpster fire, and now you want to drink? This isn’t normal, even for you.” “Oi… Oi jist need sumethin’,” Wally growled, his voice trembling with a mix of anger and desperation. His fists tightened, his whole body wound up like a spring. The raw desperation in his tone sent a chill through Hoagie. “Something?” Hoagie pressed, his voice softening as he dropped his arm slightly but still held his ground. “Like what, Wally? What’s so bad that you came here—of all places—looking like this?”
Wally’s hand hovered near the cabinet handle, his fingers twitching. For a moment, he didn’t move, his breaths ragged and uneven. His eyes flicked up to meet Hoagie’s, dark with exhaustion and an unspoken pain, before darting back down to the floor. Hoagie let out a heavy sigh, the tension thick in the air. “Look,” he said, his tone gentler now, “I don’t know what’s eating at you, but this?” He gestured toward the cabinet. “This isn’t it, man. Whatever it is, we’ll figure it out. Together. But you’re not getting trashed in my kitchen.” Wally’s shoulders sagged, the fight draining out of him. He stepped back from the cabinet, and the door swung shut with a soft click. His hands dropped limply to his sides. “Fine,” he muttered, his voice barely audible. Hoagie relaxed a fraction but kept his guard up. “Come on,” he said, nodding toward the living room. “Let’s sit down and talk. You don’t have to tell me everything right now, but at least let me help.” Wally hesitated, shifting his weight from one foot to the other as if debating whether to stay or bolt. Finally, he nodded—a small, reluctant gesture.
Without a word, he followed Hoagie out of the kitchen, his steps heavy and dragging. Hoagie watched Wally slump onto the couch, his frame sagging as if the weight of the world had settled on his shoulders. It wasn’t just exhaustion—it was something deeper, something jagged and raw, clinging to him like a shadow. Hoagie’s stomach churned as he stood frozen in the doorway, unsure how to enter the moment without disrupting it completely. Wally didn’t look up. His eyes were fixed on the floor, his hands hanging limply between his knees. The silence in the room was suffocating, broken only by the faint hum of the fridge in the kitchen. Hoagie swallowed hard, his throat dry, his usual arsenal of jokes and easy banter nowhere to be found.
He wasn’t good at this—at stepping into someone else’s pain—but the hollow look in Wally’s eyes wasn’t something he could ignore. It was the kind of look that gnawed at your chest, a silent scream for help that couldn’t be brushed aside. Hoagie hesitated, a knot of unease twisting tighter in his chest. Every instinct screamed at him to crack a joke, to ease the tension with humor, to pretend this wasn’t happening. But he forced those instincts down. Wally needed him, and running away—metaphorically or otherwise—wasn’t an option. Taking a deep breath, Hoagie walked over and sat on the coffee table across from Wally. He leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees, and forced himself to meet his friend’s gaze—though Wally wouldn’t look up. “Alright,” Hoagie said, his voice steady but softer than usual. “What’s going on? And don’t give me the ‘nothing’ routine.
You know I’m not buying that.” Wally didn’t respond. His fists clenched against his thighs, the knuckles bone-white, and his jaw tightened like a steel trap. His chest rose and fell in shallow, uneven breaths, and for a moment, Hoagie thought he might either explode or shut down completely. "Wally,” Hoagie said again, his tone quieter but no less firm. “Come on. You can talk to me. I’m not going anywhere.” For a long moment, it was as if Wally didn’t hear him, the tension in the room stretching taut like a string about to snap. Then, all at once, Wally exhaled sharply, slumping back into the couch. His hands dropped limply to his sides, and his head tilted back against the cushion. When he finally spoke, his voice was hoarse, each word dragged out like it had been scraped raw.
“She dump’d meh.” Hoagie blinked, completely caught off guard. Of all the scenarios running through his mind, this wasn’t one of them. “Veronica?” he asked cautiously, leaning in slightly. “Yea’,” Wally muttered, a bitter laugh escaping his lips. It wasn’t so much a laugh as a hollow sound, sharp and empty, making Hoagie’s chest tighten. “But t’at’s not even the worst part.” Hoagie’s brow furrowed, his unease deepening into something heavier. “What do you mean?” Wally’s jaw worked as if he were chewing on the words, trying to decide whether to spit them out or swallow them whole. When he finally spoke, his voice cracked—low and heavy, dragging through the room like a weight. “She was cheatin’ on meh. The whole tiome. Wif one of mahy so-call’d friends.” The words hit Hoagie like a punch to the gut, stealing the air from his lungs. For a moment, he didn’t know what to say, his mind spinning with a hundred half-formed thoughts and no clear way forward.
“Wally…” he began, his voice soft and unsure of how to even begin. Wally let out another humorless laugh, his gaze fixed on some invisible point across the room. “Guess Oi should’ve seen it cumin’,” he said bitterly. “She’s always been good at pretendin’.” “No,” Hoagie interrupted, his voice firm and cutting through Wally’s self-deprecation. He reached out, resting a hand on Wally’s arm—a small gesture, but one that felt monumental in the heavy silence. “This isn’t on you. None of it.” Wally’s shoulders shook slightly, and for the first time, Hoagie realized just how close his friend was to breaking. The realization sent a fresh wave of determination through him. Whatever Wally was feeling right now—betrayal, anger, grief—he wasn’t going to face it alone. Hoagie leaned in, his tone gentle but unwavering.
“We’ll figure this out, okay? I don’t know how yet, but we will. You’re not doing this by yourself.” Wally didn’t respond, but the slight sag in his shoulders, the way his clenched fists relaxed even a fraction—it was enough. In that moment, it was enough. Wally let out a sharp, bitter laugh, the sound jagged and raw. “And yah now whot’s funny?” His voice trembled as he finally met Hoagie’s gaze. His eyes were red-rimmed and glassy, burning with an intensity that was equal parts anger and pain. A joyless smirk twisted his lips, but it didn’t reach his eyes.
“oi'm not even mad at her. Ioim mad at mayhself. Of course she’d cheat on meh. Why wouldn’t she? Oi’m jist sum dumb, loudmouth idiot who’s not gud enough for anyone.” “Hey, whoa, whoa,” Hoagie interjected quickly, alarm flashing across his face as he scooted closer. His hands hovered in the air, as if he wanted to physically shake the self-loathing out of Wally. “That’s not true, and you know it.” “It is true!” Wally snapped, his voice cracking like a whip. He shot forward, gripping his knees so tightly his knuckles turned white, veins standing out in stark relief. His whole body shook, trembling with emotions he couldn’t contain. “Oi mess up everythin', Hoagie! Everythin'! Oi can’t be seen with any of mayh friends because oi’m the enemy! Mayh whole life’s jist mistake aftah mistake!”
His words came out in a rush, each one sharper and more cutting than the last, as if he were driving nails into his own chest. Hoagie froze for a second, the weight of Wally’s words slamming into him. This wasn’t the Wally he knew—the one who charged into every fight with fists swinging, who always managed to bounce back no matter how hard life hit him. This was a Wally stripped bare, raw, and vulnerable in a way Hoagie had never seen. And it broke him. “Wally,” Hoagie said quietly, his voice low and steady, cutting through the tension like a lifeline. He leaned forward, bracing his elbows on his knees, and planted himself directly in Wally’s line of sight. “You are not worthless. Not even close.” Wally scoffed and turned his head away, jaw tight. But Hoagie wasn’t letting him off the hook. He pressed on, his tone firm but unwavering. “Yeah, you screw up sometimes,”
Hoagie admitted. “Who doesn’t? But you? You’re one of the most loyal, brave, and stubborn people I’ve ever met. You care so much about the people in your life that you’d go through hell for them—even if you don’t always say it out loud. That’s why we’re all still here, Wally. Because we see you. We know you. And you’re worth it.” Wally’s shoulders shook, his face dropping into his hands as his breathing hitched. “Doesn’t feel lioke it riogh' now,” he muttered, his voice muffled and thick with emotion. “Of course it doesn’t,” Hoagie said softly, his tone gentler now as he leaned even closer, his voice steady but filled with warmth. “Because what Veronica and that jerk did to you? That’s not on you. That’s on them. You gave her everything, Wally, and she didn’t appreciate it. That doesn’t mean you’re not enough—it means she was blind. You deserve someone who sees you for who you are. Someone who values you. And you’ll find that person. I know you will.”
Wally pressed the heels of his palms into his eyes, trying to hide the tears that spilled over despite his best efforts. Hoagie hesitated for a moment, then reached out and gripped Wally’s shoulder firmly. “Listen to me,” Hoagie said, his voice serious, more so than Wally had ever heard it. “You’re my best friend. You’ve had my back through everything, even when I didn’t deserve it. And now it’s my turn. You don’t get to talk about yourself like that, okay? Because it’s not true. You’re worth it—to me, to Abby, to Kuki, to everyone who’s lucky enough to know you. We’ve got you, man. Always.” Wally’s breath hitched again, and this time, he didn’t try to stop the tears. Hoagie’s grip on his shoulder tightened, a silent reminder that he wasn’t alone. And for the first time that night, the weight pressing down on Wally’s chest felt just a little lighter.
After a long silence, Wally sat hunched over on the couch, his arms tightly crossed, frustration still etched on his face. His stubborn silence filled the room, but Hoagie wasn’t about to let him stew in it. He leaned forward, his expression softening slightly. “Okay, where’s that kid I met when we were ten?” Hoagie began, his grin playful but knowing. “You know, the one who wouldn’t shut up about beating up every adult in sight? The one who thought eating six donuts in under a minute was peak athletic achievement?” Wally didn’t move, his scowl deepening as he muttered, “T'at kid was an idiot.” "An idiot I liked, though,” Hoagie pressed, undeterred. “He was fearless. Loud. Kinda reckless—but in a fun way. He made everyone laugh, even when he didn’t mean to. And more importantly, he didn’t let anything keep him down for long.”
Wally scoffed, but finally lifted his head, glaring at Hoagie through narrowed, watery eyes. “Well, maybe that kid didn’t have everyone bailin’ on ‘im ‘cause he’s not gud enough.” Hoagie’s grin faltered slightly, replaced by a look of quiet determination. “Wally, c’mon. That’s not you talking—that’s the hurt talking.” He paused, watching his friend carefully, then leaned in closer. “Look, I get it—you’re mad. You’re hurt. You’ve got every right to be. But you’re not that kid anymore, because now you know your worth. Or at least, you should.” Wally shook his head, avoiding Hoagie’s gaze. Hoagie gave him a moment before continuing. “Listen to me—you’re still that same guy. Just older, a little wiser, and maybe a little less of a donut-devouring maniac. And you know what? I still love that guy. Platonically,”
he added with a teasing smirk to lighten the mood..Wally snorted despite himself, but his eyes remained clouded. “Yah’re such a sap.” “And you love me for it.” Hoagie shot back, grinning as he clapped Wally on the shoulder. “But seriously, man. Don’t let what she did make you forget who you are. You’re Wally Freakin’ Beetles. You’re brave. Loyal. And yeah, okay, maybe a bit of an idiot—but you’re our idiot. Abby knows it. Kuki knows it. I know it. You’ve got people in your corner, Wally. People who care about you more than you realize.” Wally’s shoulders sagged, the tension easing slightly. “Yah really don’t know when ta quit, do yah?”
“Nope,” Hoagie replied brightly, standing and offering his hand. “Now, get up. We’re raiding the snack cabinet and watching a movie. Your pick.” Wally eyed him for a long moment before finally sighing and accepting Hoagie’s hand. “Fine.” Wally rolled his eyes, but a faint smile tugged at his lips. For now, it was enough. The movie played on the TV, and the living room lights' soft glow created a calm atmosphere. Wally, still tense from everything that had happened, sat stiffly next to Hoagie on the couch. The space between them felt just a little too wide, despite Hoagie throwing an arm around his shoulders in an attempt to offer comfort. Wally leaned in slightly, enough to feel the physical proximity, though his body remained rigid, refusing to fully relax. His gaze flickered between the movie and his own thoughts, trying to distract himself. Hoagie kept things light, making jokes and playful comments about the ridiculousness of the movie’s plot, but his eyes kept darting back to Wally. It wasn’t like him to be this quiet, this withdrawn.
Hoagie could sense that there was something deeper at play than just the bad breakup. Wally’s shoulders were tense, his gaze distant, as if there were a weight on his chest he couldn’t shake. Halfway through the movie, Hoagie’s phone buzzed on the coffee table. He glanced down at the notification from the group chat—a series of messages sent in quick succession. He sighed inwardly, knowing this was exactly what Wally didn’t want: their friends checking in on him. Still, he reached over and unlocked his phone.

Saturday, November 2nd, 10:23 PM
SkyGenius changed the group name ‘ Sector V Squad' to 'Mission Control'
RainbowMonkeyQueen: Wait a sec, did the group chat name just change?!
Chill5Real: Mission Control? Really, Hoagie?
SkyGenius: Yeah, I changed it. Thought it was more fitting. We’re always on a mission, and someone’s gotta keep things organized.
UnoForce: It’s efficient. I approve.
RainbowMonkeyQueen: Okay, fine, but I still liked Sector V Squad better. 😒
Chill5Real: Don’t start, Kuki. Anyway, what’s up, Hoagie? You’ve been quiet.
Sunday,November 23rd,12: 39 AM
Chill5Real: Yo, what happened? Is Wally okay?
RainbowMonkeyQueen: What happened?! Is Wally okay?!? Is he safe? Has he eaten? PLEASE tell me what’s going on!!! 😡💔
UnoForce: Status update, Hoagie. Last we heard, he wasn’t doing great.
SkyGenius: He’s okay-ish. He’s a bit better than when he came here, for now… but mentally, he’s not okay. Found out Veronica was cheating on him the ENTIRE time—with one of his “friends.” Then she dumped him. He was already upset when he got to me, but after that… yeah, not great.
Chill5Real: YOU’RE KIDDING. She did THAT to Wally?!?
RainbowMonkeyQueen: WHAT?! 😡😡😡 HOW DARE SHE!!! UGH!!! Poor Wally!!!
UnoForce: Unbelievable. That’s not just cruel; that’s vile.
SkyGenius: Yeah.
Chill5Real: Nah uh. She’s on my permanent no-fly list. If I ever see her, it’s on sight.
RainbowMonkeyQueen: SAME. She better not show her face around us EVER again. She’s dead to me for what she did to him. 😡
UnoForce: The group stands united on this. Veronica’s actions were unforgivable. We officially hate her.
SkyGenius: He’s handling it better now, though. Just needs space to breathe. He’s being stubborn, so don’t expect him to talk much yet.
RainbowMonkeyQueen: I just wanna hug him so bad right now!!! 🥺
Chill5Real: Give him time, Kooks. He’ll let us in when he’s ready.
UnoForce: Agreed. Keep us posted, Hoagie.
SkyGenius: Will do. Don’t worry—I got his back
Hoagie glanced at his phone, seeing the group chat lighting up with messages from Abby and Nigel. He sighed and tossed it onto the coffee table before turning off the TV, the screen fading to black. The quiet that followed felt heavier, pressing down on him as he turned to look at Wally. Wally was curled up on the couch, a thick blanket wrapped around him. The usual energy that defined him was missing, replaced by a strange stillness. His gaze was fixed on the quilt draped over his lap, his fingers absently tracing its seams. Hoagie hesitated for a moment before sitting down next to him, the couch dipping slightly under his weight. "Alright, no more distractions," he said lightly, trying to keep things easy.
"Let’s just sit here for a bit, yeah?" Wally gave a small, almost imperceptible shrug, barely acknowledging him, but Hoagie didn’t mind. He leaned back, letting the silence settle around them. After a while, Wally’s posture softened just a little. The tension in his shoulders eased slightly, and Hoagie noticed his breathing slow, grounding itself in the quiet. When the silence felt a little less heavy, Hoagie glanced at the clock and stretched dramatically, letting out an exaggerated yawn. "Alright, buddy," he said, his voice returning to its usual easygoing tone. "You wanna crash here tonight?" Wally hesitated, his fingers still tracing the quilt as if seeking some comfort. "…If t'at’s okayh," he murmured softly, his voice unsteady. Hoagie grinned warmly and ruffled Wally’s hair. "Of course, it’s okay, man. You’re always welcome here."
He stood up, sneakers squeaking against the floor, and headed toward the hallway. "Sit tight—I’ll grab some blankets." A few moments later, Hoagie returned with a pillow and a thick comforter, carefully arranging them on the couch like he was setting up a little safe space for Wally. "Alright, there you go. Five-star accommodations." He plopped down beside him and gave Wally’s shoulder a firm, reassuring pat. "You good?" Wally shrugged, pulling the quilt tighter around himself, his face still unreadable. "Oi guess." Hoagie sat quietly for a moment, the weight of the unspoken words hanging between them.
Finally, he rested a hand on Wally’s shoulder. "Look, man. I know today’s been… well, complete garbage." His voice softened, the playful edge gone. "But you’ve got people who care about you—me, Kuki, Abby, Nigel. We’re all here for you. We love you, Wally. Don’t forget that." Wally didn’t respond immediately, his eyes fixed on the comforter in his lap. But when Hoagie pulled him into a quick hug, Wally leaned into it, offering a small, almost imperceptible nod. "Thanks," he muttered, his voice soft but sincere, a rare vulnerability slipping through his tough exterior. Hoagie pulled back, ruffling Wally’s hair with a light laugh. "Alright, try to get some sleep. I’ll see you in the morning."
"Yea'. Nioght, Hoags." "Night, Wally." Hoagie disappeared down the hall, leaving Wally alone in the quiet living room. Wally flopped back onto the couch, pulling the comforter up over his head. He stared at the ceiling, his mind a chaotic swirl of thoughts that refused to calm. Sleep didn’t come easily—not with the weight of the day’s betrayal pressing down on his chest. Just as his eyelids began to droop, his phone buzzed on the coffee table. Frowning, Wally reached for it, the screen lighting up with a message from Kuki. He hesitated, holding his breath for a moment before opening the message.

Hey💕
I know today’s been so hard, but I just wanted to say I’m proud of you. You’re stronger than this, and you’ll get through it—I know you will. You’re amazing, Wally, and you’ve always got me in your corner. Always. I love you, Wallibear. 💚
Wally froze, the words sinking in slowly. His heart ached as the warmth of her message spread through him like a slow-burning fire. The tightness in his chest began to loosen, the weight of the day lifting, even if just a little. His grip on the phone tightened, and for the first time that day, he felt the faintest flicker of hope. A small smile tugged at his lips, and though a tear threatened to fall, he quickly blinked it away. He began typing a response.

Thanks, KookieMonster. love you too
He hit send, his fingers lingering on the screen for a moment before he set the phone down beside him. Pulling the comforter snugly around himself, he closed his eyes. Her words echoed in his mind, wrapping around him like a blanket of warmth. For the first time in days, sleep finally came a little easier.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The treehouse buzzed with life again, a familiar hum of activity returning after too long an absence. Laughter and playful banter bounced off the walls, youthful energy filling the space that had once been a playground of childhood dreams. Though the décor had evolved—sleek gadgets, softly glowing string lights, and polished wooden shelves replacing the old, mismatched trinkets—the treehouse still carried the same comforting essence of home. The scent of fresh wood and warm cookies lingered, blending with the faint smell of earth from the trees outside.
Abby stood on a ladder, carefully adjusting the "Welcome Back, Nigel!" banner for the third time. She squinted, ensuring it hung perfectly straight. "Alright, that should do it," she muttered, brushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear. She wore a sleeveless, crop-top version of her old blue-and-white striped dress, its relaxed fit showing off her toned arms, paired with light, almost acid-washed jeans with just the right amount of fray at the hems. Her golden bracelets jangled softly as she stepped down, her posture casual but proud.
Across the room, Kuki perched on a tall stool, humming happily as she draped string lights around the rafters. Her updated outfit—a black muscle-shirt dress paired with a green over-the-shoulder sweater and knee-high lace socks—was stylish yet unmistakably her: playful, colorful, and effortlessly cool. The silver half-heart necklace around her neck shimmered faintly in the soft glow of the lights as she turned, her eyes lighting up at the sight of her work. “Do you think Nigel will even recognize this place?” Kuki asked, bouncing off the stool with excitement. She brushed a hand through her hair, adjusting the heart-shaped hairclip that had become a signature touch, her face lit up with anticipation.
“Better,” Abby replied with a sly grin, giving the banner one last scrutinizing glance. “If not, I’m throwing this banner at his head. It was your idea to go all-out." Kuki giggled, clasping her hands in front of her, eyes wide as she surveyed the setup. “It’s gonna be perfect! I can’t wait to see his face when he walks in!” Abby, satisfied with the banner's placement, turned to the snack table where Hoagie was already making himself at home. The sound of cookies being shuffled around and the faint hiss of soda cans opening reached her ears. “Hoagie!” she called, a warning tone creeping into her voice as she crossed her arms. “If you touch one more cookie, I swear—” Hoagie froze mid-bite, a cookie halfway to his mouth.
He looked up sheepishly, his signature goggles perched just above his eyes, looking almost comically out of place in his relaxed attire—a sky-blue collared shirt worn open over a plain white T-shirt, brown cuffed pants, and his ever-present baseball cap. The combination of his laid-back demeanor and the familiar, almost childlike glee as he tasted the cookies was endearing. “Hey! Quality control is crucial,” he argued, his voice muffled as he chewed. “You wouldn’t want to serve stale chips to Nigel, would you?” Abby rolled her eyes, but the smirk tugging at her lips was unavoidable. “Uh-huh. Keep tellin’ yourself that, doofus,” she teased. Kuki burst out laughing, spinning to face Hoagie with a mischievous grin. “I think it’s cute!” she chimed, clasping her hands together.
“You two bicker like an old married couple!” Abby arched an eyebrow, the smirk on her face widening. “At least I’ve got a couple. What about you, girl? When are you gonna finally make a move on you-know-who?” Kuki froze, her face turning a shade of pink that clashed with her usual bubbly demeanor. She fidgeted nervously with her necklace, her fingers brushing over the smooth silver heart. “W-What? I don’t know what you’re talking about!” she stammered, her voice rising in pitch. Hoagie snickered, tossing a chip into his mouth. “Yeah, suuure. The whole TND knows about your crush on—” Before he could finish, Abby swatted the back of his head with a roll of streamers, the sound sharp and playful. “Leave her alone, Hoagie. Don’t you have more snacks to ‘inspect’?”
“Alright, alright!” Hoagie raised both hands in mock surrender, still grinning like a Cheshire cat. “But for the record, I’m the real hero of this party. Who else brought the best cookies from his favorite bakery?” Kuki’s laughter bubbled up again, bright and infectious. She absentmindedly twirled one of her bracelets, her eyes scanning the room with quiet satisfaction. The decorations, the snacks, the warm, golden glow from the string lights—it all came together perfectly. “This is going to be amazing,” she murmured, her voice soft with nostalgia. “Just like old times.” For a moment, the three of them stood in comfortable silence, taking in the scene. The room felt alive, the walls thick with memories and the weight of years passed. The smell of cookies, the crisp scent of streamers, and the faint hum of distant conversation outside swirled around them, anchoring them in the moment. Kuki clapped her hands, breaking the silence with her usual infectious energy. “Okay! What’s next?” she asked, her enthusiasm bouncing back to full force. Abby grinned, grabbing a box of extra streamers from the corner. “Next, we finish up before Mr. Quality Control over there eats all the snacks.” Hoagie raised a soda can in a mock toast, the fizz from the can catching the light. “Hey, if I’m going down, I’m going down full,” he replied with a wink.
Laughter filled the treehouse again, the sound ringing out like the familiar, comforting music of their youth. They got back to work, their movements fluid and coordinated, as the space around them transformed. It wasn’t just the fortress of their childhood anymore—it was the backdrop for something they hadn’t shared in far too long: time together. And soon, Nigel would be home.
In the kitchen, the faint hum of the fridge and the soft clink of glassware filled the quiet as Kuki gathered the drinks. A bright red punch shimmered like liquid rubies, its glow amplified under the warm kitchen lights. Balancing the punch bowl and a few cans of soda against her hip, she nudged the door open with her foot, the scent of freshly baked cookies drifting from the living room. Her sweater sleeve slipped slightly, revealing the colorful friendship bracelet she wore as she carefully carried the drinks into the main room. Abby stood in the center, hands on her hips, surveying the decorations.
The streamers crisscrossed the ceiling like vibrant ribbons, and the banner hung proudly above the window, slightly askew but charming nonetheless. It wasn’t perfect, but neither she nor Kuki minded—the room pulsed with the warmth of familiarity. Kuki disappeared back into the kitchen for another round, leaving Abby’s gaze shifting to Hoagie. He leaned against the snack table, a bowl of chips in one hand and his phone in the other, his brow furrowed in concentration. The crackle of the snack bag was the only other sound before Abby spoke softly, stepping closer. “Hey,” she said, her voice gentle. She noticed the flicker of worry in his eyes. “Did he reply yet?” Hoagie sighed, lowering his phone without meeting her gaze. “Not yet,” he admitted, his voice heavier than usual. Abby arched an eyebrow, her bracelets jingling as she crossed her arms. “And you’ve been staring at that thing all afternoon, huh?” He finally looked up, managing a weak smile. “It’s called optimism, Abbs.” He set the chips down and tapped the edge of his phone. “I just… I don’t know. You think he’ll come?” Abby leaned against the table beside him, her tone softening. “It’s Wally. The guy’s as stubborn as a mule and twice as unpredictable. But…” She hesitated, her lips curling slightly.
“I think he wants to. That’s gotta count for something, right?” Hoagie let out a long breath, his shoulders slumping. “I get why he wouldn’t show. The guy’s practically got Father’s shadow hanging over him. And if he gets caught here? Forget about us—he’d be toast.” He rubbed the back of his neck, his voice dropping to a whisper. “It’d just… it’d suck if he didn’t come. Kuki’s been so excited. And Nigel…” He trailed off, shaking his head. “We all promised, Abbs. Every one of us. No matter what.” Abby was quiet for a moment. She placed a hand on his arm, squeezing it comfortingly. “You’re right. We did promise.” Her voice was firm, but there was a hint of warmth in it. “But Wally’s got his own stuff to figure out. If he shows, it’s because he chose to. If he doesn’t… well, we’re not letting that ruin everything, are we?”
Hoagie met her gaze, his brown eyes full of doubt. Abby held his look, her lips curving into a small, reassuring smile. “Listen,” she continued, her tone soft. “This is for Nigel, right? The guy’s been to space and back—literally. Wally knows how much this means. And if I know him, even a little, he’ll show. He just… takes him a while to get it together.” Hoagie let out a slow breath, a reluctant smile tugging at his lips. “You always know what to say, don’t you?” Abby smirked, flicking his cap playfully. “It’s one of my many talents, Hoags. Lucky for you, you get to enjoy them up close.”
He chuckled, the tension easing as he reached up to tuck a stray curl behind her ear. “Definitely lucky,” he teased, his voice warm. For a moment, they stood there, the weight of their conversation lifting, replaced by the rare, quiet comfort of each other’s presence. Then, the sound of footsteps approached from the kitchen, and they both turned to see Kuki emerge, punch bowl in hand. Her sweater sleeve slipped again as she placed it on the table, the red liquid gleaming under the lights, matching the bright energy she radiated. “Ta-da!” Kuki sang, stepping back to admire her work. “Snacks are ready, drinks are perfect, and the decorations look amazing. This is going to be the best reunion ever!”
Abby and Hoagie exchanged a glance, their earlier concerns briefly eclipsed by Kuki’s unshakable enthusiasm. Kuki clapped her hands together, scanning the room. “Okay, what’s next? Streamers? Balloons? Should we do a snack test run?” Abby grinned, a playful glint in her eyes. “You’ve got energy for days, girl. I think we’re good for now. Take a breather.” Just as Kuki started tidying up a corner of the table, a soft knock echoed from the door. Kuki froze, her eyes lighting up. “I’ll get it!” she practically sang, skipping to the entrance. Abby and Hoagie exchanged another glance, a silent conversation passing between them. “You think it’s him?” Hoagie asked, a flicker of hope in his voice. “Only one way to find out,” Abby replied, folding her arms as they waited. Kuki hesitated, smoothing the fabric of her skirt before pulling the door open.
A warm smile spread across her face as she took in the figure standing on the other side. Wally stood frozen at the base of the treehouse ladder, his gaze fixed on the familiar wooden structure above. It had been years since he’d seen this place, home to countless adventures and memories. Yet tonight, bathed in the soft twilight, it felt like a relic from a life that no longer fit him. The treehouse still looked the same, but everything around it had shifted. His heart pounded in his chest, a mix of excitement and fear churning in his stomach. His orange hoodie was half-zipped, but it felt too tight, as though it were closing in around him. The black shirt underneath clung to his skin, damp with sweat, while the edges of his semi-ripped jeans fluttered slightly in the breeze. He tugged at his sleeve, trying to ground himself, the cool weight of the silver ball earring in his left ear serving as a reminder of how far he’d strayed from this world. He glanced back toward the empty street, the faint hum of the city almost mocking the peaceful stillness surrounding the treehouse. His chest tightened as doubt clawed at him.
"You know what happens when you defy me, Wally." Father's voice echoed in his mind, sharp and cold. Wally shivered, the shadow of his father’s threats and the Delightful Children pressing on him. They’d stop at nothing to drag him back—and if they found him here… It wouldn’t just be him in danger. He clenched his fists, swallowing hard. 'Oi shouldn’t be ‘ere. It’s not safe. For meh or for 'em’. He took a shaky step back, the urge to leave nearly overwhelming. 'They don’t need meh messin’ thin’s up. Oi’ll just keep mayh distance, make sure Kuki an' the others are okay from afar’. But before he could turn to go, the creak of the treehouse door sliced through the quiet, freezing him in place.
“Wally?” The voice was soft, but unmistakable, cutting through the evening air like a beacon. His heart skipped, and he froze. A moment later, she appeared, standing at the top of the ladder—Kuki. Her smile was radiant, her eyes sparkling with joy. “Wally!” she called again, louder this time, her voice carrying the warmth of long-forgotten moments. Her excitement left him rooted to the spot, the familiar pull of her energy tugging at him. Before he could protest, she was already hurrying down the ladder toward him, her arms wrapping around him in a tight, unrestrained hug. The sudden contact left him stiff and unsure, his arms awkwardly hanging at his sides. It had been so long since he’d been held like this—without hesitation, without expectations. Kuki pulled back just enough to look up at him, her hands still resting on his shoulders. “I was worried you weren’t going to come,” she said, her voice soft, almost vulnerable. “But you did. And now we’re all here. Just like old times, right?”
Wally’s throat went dry, his words stuck in his chest. “Oi… uh… yea’,” he muttered, scratching the back of his neck as he glanced away. His eyes refused to meet hers. Kuki’s grin widened, and before he could say anything else, she grabbed his hand. “Come on!” Her voice was bright, laced with excitement. “Everyone’s inside, getting ready. You’ve got to see how great it looks! I’m so glad you’re here, Wally. We’ve all been waiting for this.” Her small hand wrapped around his, warm and firm, sending a rush of heat to his cheeks. His heart stuttered in his chest as she tugged him toward the treehouse, his resistance faltering. “Kuki, Oi don’t think—” he started, but his voice was drowned out by the sound of her laughter, carefree and familiar. He didn’t know how much longer he could keep pretending he didn’t belong here. “Oh, don’t be silly,” Kuki interrupted, walking backward with a bounce in her step. Her green sweater sleeves swayed with each movement as she beamed at him.
“This is for Nigel. For all of us. You have to be here!” Wally hesitated, his eyes drifting nervously to the entrance. Every instinct screamed at him to turn around and leave, but her smile—warm and sincere—made staying seem worth the risk. She tugged lightly at his hand again, and this time, he stumbled forward, his blush deepening. As they neared the door, Kuki's orange half-heart necklace swayed gently against her chest, perfectly matching the one hidden beneath his shirt. Wally’s stomach churned at the sight, a wave of guilt and longing washing over him. Something could go wrong. It always did. But in that moment, with her hand in his, it was hard to think about anything other than how much he wanted to stay. Even if just for one night.
He paused at the edge of the path, casting a lingering glance toward the shadows of the forest. “Oi’m not so sure abou’ this,” he muttered, his voice low, but the hesitation didn’t stop Kuki. She tugged at his hand again, pulling him forward with her usual determination. Her voice filled the air, cheerful and bright, as she babbled about all the preparations inside. Wally’s gaze flicked down to their hands, his rougher, slightly larger ones wrapped around hers. Maybe just for tonight. He squeezed her hand gently, letting himself be pulled toward the treehouse, letting the warmth of her presence ease the tightness in his chest. The door creaked open, and Kuki’s voice rang out excitedly. Wally paused for a moment, glancing over his shoulder. But when he saw Kuki’s radiant smile, her joy at having him there, it hit him hard. He couldn’t turn away now. Steeling himself, he followed her inside, the door clicking
Her smile faltered, and she stepped directly into his path. “You’re doing it again,” she said, her voice soft but edged with hurt. The words hit him like cold water. He froze, eyes meeting hers. “Doin’ whot?” “You always shut us out,” she said, her gaze unwavering, full of concern. “Every time we try to reach you, you pull away like we’re too fragile for whatever’s going on with you. Like you’re doing us a favor by staying away. We hardly get to see you! And the only time we do, you're in that stupid ninja getup fighting us. And even then we blink and you're gone…do we even cross your mind anymore?” Her words cut deeper than he wanted to admit. He wasn’t trying to hurt them, but how could he explain it? How could he explain he was only trying to protect them from himself? Kuki stepped closer, her voice steady but thick with emotion.
“I don’t want to lose you, Wally. And I don’t think you want to lose us either. So, can you, for once, just stay? Stop pretending this doesn’t matter. For Nigel. For me.” Wally felt the weight of her plea, crushing and heavy, but it was too real to ignore. He faltered. His throat tightened, and his usual wall of excuses crumbled. “Oi… Oi don’t know if oi can…” She didn’t pull away, her hands gentle but firm as they cupped his face, grounding him. Her touch was soft, grounding him in a way nothing else could. “Please,” Kuki whispered, her voice filled with raw honesty, “just stay.” Wally’s heart raced, the storm inside him quieting just enough to hear the truth: He didn't have to carry it all alone. For once, he didn’t have to pretend. Kuki wasn’t asking for him to be perfect. She was asking him to just be there. “Okay,” he said softly but with certainty, his voice barely above a whisper. “Oi’ll stay.”
Her face lit up, and without thinking, she wrapped her arms around him in a tight embrace. Wally stood stiff for a moment, but the warmth of her touch slowly eased the tension from his shoulders. His chest felt lighter for the first time in a long while. She pulled back slightly, still holding him loosely, and grinned. “See? That wasn’t so hard, was it?” Wally gave her a half-hearted glare, but the corners of his mouth twitched into a small smile. "Yah’re annoyingly gud at t’is, ya know?" "Good at what?" she teased, tilting her head innocently. "Gettin' meh ta stay," he muttered, rolling his eyes. "Annoyingly gud." She giggled, leaning in, her breath warm against his cheek.
"Guess you’ll just have to deal with it." In that quiet moment, the world around them seemed to fade. The buzz of voices in the background, the distant clinking of glasses, everything quieted until it was just the two of them. Wally’s breath caught in his throat as she leaned closer. He froze for a second, the impulse hitting him like a shock. But then, his hand found its way to her waist, and before he could stop himself, he pressed his lips to hers. The kiss was tentative, a little uncertain, but electric. The warmth of her skin, the softness of her lips, everything felt intense and new, like this was the first time he’d ever let himself be this close to her. His heart raced as the feeling deepened, pulling him in. When they pulled apart, Wally’s chest heaved, his pulse thrumming in his ears. Kuki’s face was flushed, her eyes sparkling with something more than just playfulness.
“See? That wasn’t so hard either," she teased, her voice soft but sure. Wally groaned, looking away quickly, trying to hide the warmth that had spread across his face. “Oi really can’t win wif yah.” “Not when I’ve been waiting for you to make the move,” Kuki said with a wink, her teasing tone undercut by something deeper, something tender. The realization hit him like a freight train. Kuki had known. She’d always known, even when he refused to admit it to himself. Kuki tugged on his sleeve, breaking his thoughts. “Come on. The others are probably wondering where we’ve gone.” Hand in hand, Wally and Kuki slipped back into the fold, the familiar hum of their team’s camaraderie filling the air like the crackle of an old radio tuning into the right station. The moments that followed were slow and deliberate, but each one felt like a step closer to something familiar, something safe.
Wally wasn’t fully at ease—his heart still had the weight of unspoken fears—but for the first time in ages, he wasn’t running from it. He allowed himself to laugh—really laugh—when Hoagie, in his usual chaotic fashion, managed to flood the kitchen with flour. It was a mess, but it was the kind of mess that made the whole house feel like home. He leaned back against the porch railing, Kuki and Abby sitting beside him, the warmth of the day settling into the wood beneath them. It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t easy. But at that moment, it felt right. There was a shift inside him, a kind of softening. Something inside him was finding its balance again. Slowly, the Wally he remembered—the one who cracked jokes, grumbled through situations, and always had his friends' backs—was coming back.
He didn’t know how long it would take to feel completely whole again, but right now, he was here. He was home. Then, a sudden hum—like the shift of the air itself—cut through the air, and the world seemed to lean forward. Wally’s head snapped toward the door, his heart skipping as the others reacted in kind. "Did you hear that?" Hoagie asked, his grin widening like a kid anticipating a surprise. "Could it be…?" Kuki whispered, a glint of excitement dancing in her voice. Before anyone could guess what was coming next, the door creaked open. There, standing in the threshold, was Nigel Uno.
The sight of him hit like a rush of wind. He looked both familiar and new—his red hoodie stood out, emblazoned with GKND symbols on each sleeve, one yellow and one green. His sunglasses, perched firmly on his nose, shifted to a warm orange, a subtle reflection of the joy he hadn’t yet spoken aloud. The grey shorts he’d always worn brought a comforting sense of nostalgia, even as his confident stance hinted at how much he’d grown. For a moment, silence fell. Time seemed to freeze as they took him in, this mix of the boy they remembered and the person he’d become. Then, in an instant, the stillness shattered.
“Nigel!” Kuki’s voice rang out, brimming with joy. Hoagie was the first to reach him, pulling him into a tight, welcoming hug. “Nigel, man, you’re really back!” he said, his voice thick with emotion. Kuki and Abby weren’t far behind, their laughter and chatter filling the space as they crowded around him. The room, which had been quiet just moments ago, now overflowed with warmth and energy. Wally stood back, watching them, his chest tightening. The ease with which they reconnected was painful. It was like nothing had changed for them. They laughed and teased each other, the warmth of their closeness filling the air, and for a moment, Wally felt like an outsider. The team he had once belonged to, the one that had once felt like an extension of himself, seemed to fit together again without him.
His stomach twisted. Maybe he wasn’t the same Wally anymore. Maybe there was no place for him in this effortless reunion. Maybe Nigel would see him differently now. He felt the weight of his own distance, of everything he’d been through, and he wondered—how could they still be friends after all that had changed? Lost in his thoughts, he didn’t notice Hoagie approaching until the hand settled on his shoulder. The touch was firm but reassuring, a silent promise that everything would be okay. “Come on,” Hoagie said softly. “They’re waiting for you.” Wally hesitated, uncertainty pressing against his chest like a heavyweight.
But Hoagie’s steady presence pulled him forward. There were no words for the swirling doubt inside him—he didn’t know how to explain it—but Hoagie didn’t need to say much more. His grip was a steady anchor, guiding him through the unease. Wally took a deep breath, his feet dragging but not stopping. With Hoagie at his side, he walked toward the others. When they reached the group, Nigel’s eyes met Wally’s immediately. His heart clenched, and he braced himself—expecting judgment, anger, or even silence. But instead, there was only a small nod. It was barely perceptible, but it was everything. No harsh words, no disappointment—just the kind of quiet acknowledgment that told Wally everything would be okay. They were still in this together.
The tension in Wally’s chest didn’t immediately disappear, but before he could react, Nigel stepped forward. No hugs, no speeches—just the familiar backhand bump. The old tradition. It was a simple gesture, but it spoke volumes. It said everything they both needed to hear. Nigel’s smile was the kind that came with understanding—deep, unspoken understanding. He could see the unease in Wally, the way his shoulders were drawn up in defense as if bracing for the worst. “Whatever’s been on your mind,” Nigel said, his voice low but sure, “it doesn’t matter now. We’re back together, and that’s all that counts.” And in that moment, the rest of the world seemed to fade away. Wally’s heart skipped a beat. It wasn’t what he’d expected, but it was exactly what he needed to hear.
The weight on his shoulders seemed to ease just a little, the knot in his stomach loosening. For the first time in a long time, he didn’t feel like he had to keep everything locked inside. He nodded slowly, his tense muscles gradually softening. The team was whole again. And that was enough. As laughter erupted around him, Kuki jumped into the air, her infectious energy lighting up the room. Hoagie clapped and made playful remarks, and Abby joined in, teasing Nigel about his new look with her usual lightheartedness. Wally stepped back for a moment, watching them, a soft smile tugging at his lips. It wasn’t perfect, but nothing ever had been. Things had changed, sure.
But at that moment, he realized he didn’t need perfection. He just needed them. He was home—and for the first time in what felt like forever, he felt like himself again. Not lost. Not adrift. Not alone. Not with Kuki, not with Hoagie, not with Abby. And definitely not with Nigel. That was more than enough. The celebration continued well into the evening, the rhythm of their laughter and conversation filling the cozy treehouse. The air was thick with the scent of snacks and the warmth of old friendships, familiar and grounding. Nigel, now fully reconnected with Wally, turned his attention to the rest of the group. Kuki and Abby were chatting animatedly at the snack table, a quiet but steady bond between them. Nigel approached, sliding into the conversation with ease, his usual confidence a little softened, like a piece of him finally settling back into place.
"So, how’s the TND been for you two?" he asked, leaning casually against the table. "I mean, five years away… it must’ve been something, huh?" He rubbed the back of his neck, a sheepish grin spreading across his face as he glanced from Kuki to Abby. Kuki smiled brightly, her eyes lighting up. "It’s been a whirlwind! Tons of fieldwork, and tons of tech stuff. Abby and I are like the dream team now—always in sync. We’ve been taking down villains in style!" Her grin was wide and confident, clearly proud of what they'd accomplished. Abby, standing beside Kuki, gave a small nod, quiet pride in her tone. "Yeah, it’s been a lot to handle, but we’ve made it work. We’re stronger together." There was a subtle warmth in her voice, an understated sense of accomplishment. Nigel raised an eyebrow, impressed.
"You two always were the most dynamic duo. And you—" He nodded at Abby, "You’ve always had that calm, collected thing, while Kuki’s got the unstoppable energy." Kuki nudged Abby playfully. "I like the sound of that! But yeah, it’s been fun working with Abby. We’ve got this unspoken understanding now." She looked at her best friend with a grin that spoke volumes. Nigel smiled, watching them, the years of separation slipping away like water down a drain. "Sounds like you’ve both grown a lot." His voice softened, a note of admiration in his words. Abby’s smile softened too, warmth in her eyes.
"We have. It’s been a challenge, but we’re stronger now." She paused for a moment, her voice lowering with sentiment. "But… it hasn’t been the same without you." Her words hit Nigel harder than he expected. The weight of their absence, the gap that had stretched between them all, suddenly felt real. He’d been focused on Wally’s return, but hearing Abby’s quiet admission stirred something deep inside him. The void he hadn’t known was there was slowly starting to fill. Kuki caught his eye and, for a split second, their gaze spoke volumes. She didn’t need to say anything. He could feel the unspoken understanding between them. It was in the way her eyes softened, a silent reassurance that this moment was exactly what he needed.
"So, what about you?" Kuki asked, a playful sparkle in her eyes. "What have you been up to all this time?" Nigel sighed, running a hand through his hair. The weight of everything that had happened, the years spent apart, hung on him like an anchor. "I’ve been… off the radar for a while. Just needed to sort things out." His voice softened, the walls around him cracking just a little. "But I’m back now. I want to make up for lost time." Before anyone could respond, Hoagie appeared with a knowing grin. "You know, Nigel, I wasn’t exactly in the loop either, but I could’ve guessed. You missed us more than you let on, huh?" Nigel shot him a playful glare, his lips twitching upward. "Who, me? Miss you guys? Nah, just keeping my distance." But there was a glimmer of something in his eyes, something more than just teasing. And for the first time in what felt like forever, everything seemed right.
Hoagie raised an eyebrow. “Really? Because I see that nostalgic look in your eyes. Come on, you’re happy to be back, aren’t you?” Nigel chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “Alright, maybe a little.” Hoagie grinned wider. “So, you’ve got your memories back. How’s that been treating you?” “Eh, it’s been a bit overwhelming,” Nigel admitted, his tone mellowing with honesty. “But I’m good now. Got my head back on straight.” He glanced at Abby, who gave him a reassuring nod. “We’re in a good place.” Nigel raised an eyebrow, then his expression shifted to something mischievous. “Wait, hold on… You two didn’t—” Hoagie and Abby exchanged a quick, knowing glance, before Hoagie scratched the back of his head, looking bashful. "Yeah, we've been… seeing each other."
Nigel’s face lit up in mock surprise. "Oh, finally! About time, Hoagie!" He chuckled, his gaze flicking between them. "I mean, I thought we were all waiting for that." Kuki leaned in, winking playfully. "I’ve definitely been waiting for it." Abby blushed, her smile wide and shy. "It just took a little longer than expected. But we’re happy now." Nigel laughed, clearly pleased. "I’m happy for you two. You’ve been so close for so long, I was just waiting for you to figure it out." The group shared a warm laugh, the kind that felt like it had never really stopped, even after all these years. It was like slipping into something comfortable, something familiar. No time had passed at all. Later, as the movie wound down, the group naturally gravitated to their usual spots on the couches, just like old times.
Kuki and Hoagie snuggled up together, cozy and content. Abby perched on the armrest beside them, a silent but steady presence. In the middle sat Nigel, and on the left, Wally and Kuki found their place side by side. Their hands brushed as they settled in, but they didn’t speak. It wasn’t necessary. There was peace in the space between them, a quiet understanding that made words feel unnecessary. When the credits rolled, Hoagie stretched, standing up to turn off the TV. "Well, that was a good way to wind down. But what now?" he asked, glancing around the room. The others turned to look, only to find Wally fast asleep on the couch. His head tilted back against the armrest, arms relaxed, chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm. His usual tense demeanor had melted away, replaced by a serene, unguarded calm. Kuki smiled softly, her voice barely a whisper.
"He’s finally comfortable enough to sleep around us." Abby’s expression softened, a warm, quiet pride in her eyes. “He’s really letting himself be at peace. That’s… a big step for him.” Hoagie let out a slow breath, his gaze lingering on Wally. "He’s earned this. It’s been a long road for him. I’m just glad he’s back with us." Kuki gently nudged Hoagie, her words quiet but full of affection. "Yeah, he’s back. He’s finally letting us see the real him again." The others nodded, acknowledging the truth without needing to say more. The hardships were behind them now. The years of distance, the unspoken tension—it was all gone. It was just them, together again. As they moved around the room, tidying up without hurry, Kuki paused, her eyes drifting back to Wally. A smile tugged at her lips. She turned to the others with a playful glint in her eyes. “You know,” she began, “we could turn this into a sleepover. Wally doesn’t have to move, and we can hang out a little longer. We’ve got all the time"
They exchanged glances, each one silently agreeing. None of them wanted the moment to end. Not yet. Not when things finally felt right. They settled back into their places from the movie. Kuki grabbed a blanket and gently draped it over Wally’s sleeping form, making sure he was comfortable. With a quiet sigh of contentment, she carefully nestled beside him, her head resting on his shoulder. The warmth of his body, the rhythmic rise and fall of his breath—it was all so familiar, so real. It felt like home. Across the room, Abby and Hoagie had made their own cozy corner. Abby wrapped her arms around Hoagie, his hand resting on her arm. It was effortless. Easy. As natural as breathing. In that moment, surrounded by the steady rhythm of quiet breaths and shared space, the past seemed so far away. Everything was right again.
As Nigel watched his friends, his heart swelled with quiet joy. They had all grown—each had changed in their own way, shaped by time and experience. But at the core, they were still the same. The same team. The same friends. The same people who had fought by his side, laughed with him, and shared the best and worst moments of their lives. His gaze lingered on Kuki, her peaceful smile as she nestled closer to Wally, and on Hoagie and Abby, who were wrapped up in their own world, as natural as ever. Wally, relaxed and at ease for the first time in so long, was right there, within arm’s reach, just like old times. The soft rhythm of their breathing filled the room, a comforting lullaby of togetherness. Nigel allowed himself to smile, not because everything had been easy, but because despite everything they had been through—despite the years apart—they were still together. He was still part of this. Home. It wasn’t just the Treehouse or the adventures that made this home; it was them. He had been unsure of how things would feel, worried that too much time had passed, that things might never be the same. But here they were, and for the first time in a long while, Nigel felt the weight of peace settle in his chest.
As the night stretched on, the group slowly drifted into a comfortable sleep, the bonds between them as unbroken as ever. The room was filled with the soft, steady breathing of those who mattered most. In that quiet stillness, Nigel closed his eyes, feeling the warmth of the moment wash over him. He had time now. Time to catch up on everything he missed. And for the first time in a long time, that thought didn’t feel heavy or daunting.
He was home.

She bears no visible scars but carries herself with the quiet authority earned through her experiences. Abby’s style is the perfect mix of street style and tomboy chic, she wears a black crop top under an oversized red-and-white varsity jacket, a nod to her old favorite hoodie, but with a mature, stylish twist. No longer a part of the Teens Next Door but still holding onto her memories, Abby has matured into a calm, tactical force to be reckoned with, knowing when to take charge and when to step back and trust others. Her natural ability to stay cool under pressure has only sharpened, making her a reliable figure that others turn to for guidance and advice. While she remains fiercely loyal and protective of her friends, Abby has learned the importance of setting boundaries, understanding that her role is to mentor and support, not always carry the burden herself. Her wit and sense of humor are still ever-present, though now more refined and sarcastic, offering the perfect balance to her role as a leader. Despite her tough exterior, she has become more comfortable with vulnerability, learning to open up to those she trusts. With her passion for music, sweets, and witty comebacks, Abby stays grounded, maintaining that balance of maturity and charm that keeps her the same cool, tomboyish figure her friends know and love.
Headcanons
Leader in Her Own Right: Abby isn't tied to any organization anymore, but she’s still very much a leader. Whether it’s leading community projects, organizing local events, or mentoring youth, she naturally gravitates toward roles where she can help others and use her strategic mind.
Music Is Her Therapy: Abby has a deep love for music, using it as an outlet to express herself. She’s not just about listening to music; she’s learned to play instruments, and sometimes she'll pull out her guitar or bass to unwind after a stressful day. It’s her way of reconnecting with the carefree parts of her past.
Loyal to Her Circle: Even though she’s no longer part of the KND or TND, Abby’s circle of friends is tight-knit. She values loyalty and trust more than anything. She’s the type to keep a small, intimate group of people close, and she’ll drop everything for them in a heartbeat, always making sure her friends are well taken care of.
Sweets Obsessed: Her love for sweets never fades. While she’s matured, she still has a sweet tooth that no amount of adult responsibilities can dull. Whether it’s a cake from her favorite bakery or a quick candy fix, Abby enjoys the little indulgences that make life sweeter.
Mature but Still Playful: Abby’s humor has matured, but she’s still the one to pull pranks or use witty comebacks when least expected. She enjoys playful banter and doesn’t mind poking fun at herself. Her sharp sarcasm is just one of the ways she stays connected to her youthful side.
Mindful of Her Independence: Abby is fiercely independent. While she values her friendships, she makes a point of creating space for herself—she enjoys solo time to recharge, travel, or simply do her own thing without worrying about anyone else.
Passionate About Justice: Though she’s distanced herself from the KND, Abby’s sense of justice and fairness is unshakable. She’s passionate about fighting for equality, whether it’s in her personal life, her career, or on a larger societal level. If she sees something wrong, she won’t hesitate to speak out or take action in whatever way she can.
Low-Key Fashionista: While she’s never been one for flashy or overly trendy outfits, Abby’s style has matured into something effortlessly chic. She loves casual yet polished looks, often mixing tomboyish elements like denim jackets and boots with softer, more elegant pieces like scarves or layered jewelry. She keeps her outfits simple but knows how to make them stand out.
An Advocate for Mental Health: Having experienced the stresses of leadership and the challenges of growing up, Abby has become passionate about mental health. She openly advocates for self-care and emotional well-being, encouraging her friends to seek help when they need it. She's all about breaking the stigma surrounding mental health.
Not Afraid to Cut Toxic People Out: Abby’s patience for negativity or toxic relationships has worn thin over the years. She is quick to distance herself from anyone who doesn’t bring positivity into her life. Whether it’s family, friends, or acquaintances, if someone isn’t treating her right, she’ll move on without hesitation.
Sociable but Selective: Abby’s social circle is small but close. She’s friendly and approachable, but she doesn’t make friends easily. She values quality over quantity, preferring deep, meaningful connections with a select few rather than spreading herself thin. Her inner circle trusts her implicitly.
A Lover of Nature: Abby has developed a deep connection to the outdoors. Whether it’s hiking, camping, or simply sitting in a park, she finds peace in nature. It’s where she goes to clear her mind, reflect on her life, and reconnect with herself.
Embraces Change but Has Roots: Though she’s always moving forward and embracing new opportunities, Abby remains deeply connected to her past. She keeps mementos of her KND days, not out of nostalgia but because they serve as a reminder of how far she’s come. Change excites her, but she’s grounded by her roots.
A Solid Cook: Abby might have been more of a "grab-and-go" type as a kid, but as an adult, she’s developed an appreciation for cooking. She’s a skilled cook, enjoying making healthy meals or experimenting with new recipes. It's a way for her to unwind and feel like she’s taking care of herself.
Fluent in French, But Still Has an American Accent: Since moving to France for her internship, Abby has become fluent in French, embracing the culture and language with the same determination she once brought to her leadership role. However, her American accent still shines through, giving her a distinctive charm when speaking.
Slightly Heartbroken but Resilient: Her breakup with Hoagie was tough, especially because they had been together since high school. While she remains respectful and caring toward him, the distance and life changes forced them to grow apart. Abby sometimes feels the weight of that loss, but she knows it was a necessary step for both of them to grow in their own directions.
Still Keeps in Touch with Hoagie: Although she and Hoagie broke up, Abby and Hoagie still keep in touch. They talk occasionally and are supportive of each other from afar. Their conversations often involve updates on their respective lives—Abby’s time in France and Hoagie’s new projects. They’ll always have a strong friendship.
Henrietta Was Her Emotional Anchor: When Abby first moved to France, she felt isolated and struggled with homesickness. Henrietta (Henri) was her emotional anchor during that time, helping her adjust and find her place in a new country. Their friendship blossomed in a way that went beyond just being companions, and eventually, it turned into a romantic relationship.
Reconnecting with Henrietta Was Complicated: Though her relationship with Henrietta was once something Abby treasured, the breakup with Henrietta was messy. There were misunderstandings and unresolved emotions. Despite this, Abby acknowledges that their bond remains important, and she still cares deeply about Henrietta. They've both moved on but occasionally wonder what could’ve been.
Learning the Fine Art of Patience: Living abroad and having to adapt to a new culture has taught Abby patience. She's learning to slow down, take things one step at a time, and not rush through life as she once did. She’s discovered that patience doesn’t just apply to people, but also to her goals and ambitions, especially with her internship.
Involved in a Local Volunteer Program: In France, Abby has immersed herself in volunteering at a local community center. Whether it’s organizing charity events, teaching English to children, or helping run after-school programs, she’s found fulfillment in giving back to the community. It’s her way of connecting with people in a meaningful way while staying true to her values of helping others.
Guilty About Rekindling with Hoagie: When Abby returns and reconnects with Hoagie, the old spark between them quickly reignites, and they rekindle their romance. However, Abby is hit with a wave of guilt when she finds out Hoagie is dating Wally at the time. The thought of unintentionally breaking Wally’s heart tears her apart, especially since their friendship had meant so much to her growing up. She feels like she’s betrayed a friend and struggles with how to fix the situation without making it worse.
Trying to Make It Up to Wally: Abby is determined to make things right with Wally. She apologizes profusely, doing whatever she can to show him she values their friendship and his feelings. Whether it's helping him out with projects, spending quality time, or supporting him in his goals, she wants to demonstrate that she never intended to hurt him. She’s also trying to give him the space he needs to process everything.
Feels Like She's Lost Part of Herself: As Abby navigates her relationships with Hoagie and Wally, she feels like she’s lost part of her own identity in the process. She’s used to being a strong, independent leader, but this situation has made her question whether she’s really being true to herself. She starts seeking out new ways to rediscover who she is, both in her personal and professional life.
Engaged to Hoagie, but Still Navigating Their Relationship: After rekindling their romance, Hoagie eventually proposes to Abby, and she says yes. While she’s deeply in love with him, she’s still adjusting to the idea of long-term commitment after years of independence. She wants to make sure they’re both truly ready before rushing into marriage.
Majoring in International Business or Global Studies: Given Abby's time in France and her knack for leadership, she majors in International Business. Her experience abroad has sparked a passion for global markets and cross-cultural communications, leading her to pursue a career where she can bring people and ideas together from different countries. She’s also drawn to the idea of working for an international organization that focuses on improving communities globally.
Balancing Work and Love: Abby’s career in International Business demands a lot of travel, but she’s determined to make it work with Hoagie. They establish strong communication habits, always making time for each other no matter where she is in the world. Hoagie, being understanding and supportive, helps ground her when things get overwhelming.
She’s Financially Savvy and Invests in Startups: With her business acumen, Abby becomes skilled in managing money and investments. She starts investing in small, community-driven businesses, wanting to help young entrepreneurs get their start.
Still Has a Passion for Music and Culture: Despite her business-focused career, Abby still finds time to explore music, dance, and different cultures. She brings home unique instruments and records from her travels and sometimes drags Hoagie to dance classes just to keep things exciting.
Was Hesitant to Reconnect at First: When Abby moved back, she wasn’t sure where she fit in anymore. A lot had changed, and she didn’t want to intrude. Kuki was the first to reach out, excitedly pulling Abby back into her life without hesitation. It took some time, but Abby eased back into their friendship like no time had passed.
Becomes Kuki’s Go-To “Voice of Reason”: While Kuki is the heart of the group, Abby quickly becomes the grounded one who balances them out. Whenever Kuki gets too impulsive, Abby is the one to say, "Girl, let’s think this through first," while still supporting her ideas.
Forms a Strong Bond with the Other Girls: Kuki’s inner circle consists of loyal, fun-loving, and stylish women, and Abby—being both chill and confident—fits right in. She especially bonds with the more mature and career-driven members, as they share ambitions and professional goals.
Gets Dragged to “Girls' Nights” but Secretly Loves Them: Kuki loves planning elaborate girls’ nights, from spa days to karaoke and fashion show challenges. Abby pretends to be too cool for it, but deep down, she enjoys the chaos, the laughs, and the support system that comes with it.
“The Cool Aunt” of the Group: Some of Kuki’s friends have younger siblings or kids, and Abby naturally takes on the “cool aunt” role. She’s the one who teaches them how to be confident, gives life advice, and tells embarrassing-yet-educational stories from her own past.
Keeps the Peace During Petty Drama: Kuki’s friend group is full of strong personalities, so occasional disagreements are bound to happen. Abby is usually the one to step in, call out the nonsense, and get everyone to chill. She’s not afraid to say, "Y'all acting ridiculous—talk it out and move on."
Started a Personal Blog/Vlog About Business & Life Advice: Since she majored in international business, Abby decided to start a lowkey blog and vlog series where she shares business insights, personal finance tips, and life advice. It’s not flashy, but people appreciate her straight-to-the-point wisdom.
Got Really Good at Poker: During her business internship, Abby learned to play poker at social events. She’s weirdly good at it, and now she sometimes hosts poker nights with her friends—though they get mad when she wins all their snacks.
Still Uses Slang, but It’s More Refined Now: She doesn’t talk in the third person anymore, but she’s still got that smooth, effortless way of speaking—think cool older sister energy.
Has a Playlist for Every Mood: Whether she’s working, chilling, or hyping herself up, Abby has a perfectly curated playlist for the moment.
She’s Super Protective of Her Friends: If someone hurts Kuki, Wally, or anyone in her circle, Abby will make sure they regret it. She doesn’t play about her people.

Young Adult Wallabee Beetles/Numbuh 4
Appearance: Wally is 5'2 1/2" with a strong upper body and an athletic build from years of activity, training, and battles. His skin is covered in light freckles, mostly noticeable on his arms and legs, adding a youthful touch. His blonde hair is styled into a hime cut, with strands in the front slightly covering the tips of his eyes, while the back remains long and layered. He bears several visible reminders of his time in combat: a diagonal scar on the left side of his lip, multiple faint scars across his upper torso from close encounters, and an uneven burn mark stretching from his left chest to his left hip, which also extends to the middle of his back. Faint scratches and healed gashes line his arms, and a jagged scar runs along the outer edge of his right forearm, the result of a defensive wound during battle. Wally’s style is casual but bold: he wears a white oval muscle shirt under an orange-and-white varsity jacket with a '4' stitched on the right chest, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He pairs this with semi-ripped blue jeans featuring a double silver chain on the right side and white sneakers. On his right wrist, he sports black leather bracelets, and he’s got a few silver earrings—a hoop in his right ear, a ball stud, and a double helix earring in his left. He also wears a magnetic half-heart necklace with a sparkling green center, now displayed openly.
Personality: As a young adult, Wally retains his core fiery, bold, and competitive nature, but it has matured into a more balanced and composed version of himself. Years of experience, personal growth, and navigating morally gray situations have shaped him into someone smarter, more strategic, and introspective. While he still has a hot temper and an impulsive streak, Wally has learned to pick his battles wisely, focusing on what truly matters rather than acting on impulse His childhood recklessness has been tempered by life’s hard lessons, particularly the responsibilities of caring for others and enduring difficult challenges. His scars—both physical and emotional—serve as constant reminders of his past and the lengths he’ll go to protect those he loves. Despite his maturity, Wally’s sarcastic sense of humor and competitive streak are alive and well, often making him the life of the group, though he still struggles to express his emotions openly. Wally is deeply loyal, willing to make sacrifices for the people he cares about, even if it means putting himself in harm’s way. While he’s smarter and more thoughtful now, his protective instincts and boldness ensure he’ll never back down from a fight when it counts. Beneath his tough, rugged exterior, Wally’s heart is as big as ever, and his actions often speak louder than his words when it comes to showing his love and devotion to his friends and family.
Headcanons
Escaping Father’s Grasp: Wally enlisted in the military to escape his father’s control, the Delightful Children, and Cree. He sought freedom from his toxic past and hoped to protect his family from its lingering threats. Joining became his symbol of independence and marked his journey to redefine himself. It was a turning point in his life, allowing him to break free from the oppressive shadow of his upbringing.
Studio Apartment Life : After leaving the military, Wally moved into a simple studio apartment near his college and internship hospital. Living alone for the first time, he embraced a self-sufficient lifestyle and a newfound sense of freedom. This modest home became a space to rediscover himself, a contrast to his past chaos. The simplicity of his surroundings reflected the clarity he sought in this new chapter of life.
Improved Social Skills: As years passed, Wally focused on improving his social confidence, a trait he had lacked in youth. He surprised himself by connecting more easily with classmates and hospital colleagues. Interactions that once triggered anxiety grew into opportunities for camaraderie and growth. These changes marked a personal triumph, proving that even the most introverted could build meaningful relationships through patience, effort, and self-discovery.
Reconnecting with Friends: Returning home, Wally prioritized repairing neglected friendships. He apologized for past mistakes, aiming to show how much he had grown. Mending relationships was his way of healing old wounds and proving he could be a better friend. These reconciliations became a testament to his transformation and a reminder that it’s never too late to rebuild trust with those who matter most.
From Combat Medic to Surgeon: Wally’s military service inspired him to become a surgeon after surviving life-threatening injuries. Witnessing the power of lifesaving care, he wanted to provide the same hope to others. This career choice gave him purpose and allowed him to channel his experiences into healing others. They’ve become a personal sanctuary, helping him cope with the mental and emotional challenges he faces.
Hidden Sentimentalist: Beneath Wally’s tough exterior lies a deeply sentimental side. He keeps a shoebox of mementos from his childhood, including Sector V photos and trinkets with special memories. While he carries guilt and shame, he gradually realizes that his efforts to change are what truly define him. With time, he learns to embrace his flaws and appreciate his progress, ultimately finding the path toward self-acceptance and healing.
Military Relationships: During his military service, Wally formed a deep bond with his bunkmate, Tyler. Tragically, Tyler’s death had a profound impact on Wally, shaping his emotional perspective. This loss, combined with other military experiences, continues to influence his outlook on life, leaving him with a complex mix of strength and grief.
Overwhelmed Young Father: At just 18, Wally unexpectedly became a single father when his ex-girlfriend left their newborn son, Jace, on his doorstep. Balancing medical school, work, and parenting, he faced sleepless nights, late study sessions, and hospital shifts. Despite the overwhelming pressure and exhaustion, Wally’s unwavering love for Jace became his driving force, giving him the strength to persevere and build a better future for his son.
Gets Distracted Easily: Wally still struggles with staying focused, often sidetracked by new hobbies or adrenaline-filled activities. While these distractions temporarily relieve stress, they can delay responsibilities. His curiosity and impulsive nature, though occasionally frustrating, remind him that sometimes taking breaks is just as important as staying disciplined.
Heartbreak at Home: After returning from the military, Wally hoped to reconnect with Kuki and finally express his feelings for her. However, he was devastated to learn she had a boyfriend who actively discouraged her from spending time with him. This left Wally with mixed emotions—torn between his lingering love for Kuki and his desire not to interfere with her happiness. Over time, he struggled to navigate their changed relationship while silently carrying his feelings.
Conflicted and Protective: Wally's feelings toward Kuki's boyfriend went beyond simple jealousy. He despised the way the man treated her, especially when he forced her to choose between spending time with him and reconnecting with her childhood best friend, Wally, who had just returned home. Seeing Kuki in such an unfair situation fueled Wally's resentment and protective instincts. Though still deeply in love with her, Wally hated feeling powerless to shield Kuki from a relationship he believed she deserved better than.
Conflicted Friendship with Kuki: The tension with Kuki and her boyfriend led Wally to distance himself from her, despite his lingering feelings. The awkwardness of their dynamic made it difficult for Wally to spend time with her like they used to. While he still cared deeply for Kuki, the situation left him conflicted and unsure of how to maintain their once-close bond.
Growing Closer to Hoagie: With things feeling too strained between him and Kuki, Wally leaned more on Hoagie for support. The two grew closer over time, and their friendship deepened. When Hoagie bought a house intending to settle down with Abby, he invited Wally and his son, Jace, to move in. Living together strengthened their bond, giving Wally and Jace a stable home environment and fostering a sense of camaraderie with Hoagie.
Situationship with Hoagie: During their time living together, Wally and Hoagie found comfort in each other, both feeling the absence of their respective loves—Kuki and Abby. This led to a situationship where they explored dating for a time. However, when Abby returned and rekindled her romance with Hoagie, the two men parted ways romantically on mutual terms. Their relationship, though brief, deepened their bond and provided support during a difficult period in their lives.
Discovering the Desire for Family: Living with Hoagie and experiencing a sense of belonging gave Wally a glimpse of what it felt like to have a true family. This inspired him to want a stable, loving family of his own. Even after their breakup, Hoagie remained a supportive friend. He helped Wally find his own place and move into it, ensuring Wally and Jace had a fresh start. Their friendship remained solid, strengthened by their shared history and mutual respect.
Financial Literacy: As part of becoming more responsible, Wally has begun to learn about personal finance, budgeting, and investing. He’s trying to plan for the future, ensuring that he can provide for Jace’s education, future expenses, and his own retirement. Hoagie, with his knack for organizing, helps Wally stay on track with his goals, teaching him along the way how to make sound financial decisions.
Military Armband Tattoo (Right Arm): Wally's military armband tattoo symbolizes his strength, unity, and fragility. The three bold rings represent his belief in strength, while the broken line of bullets symbolizes the vulnerability of life. The crossed rifles framed by flames and smoke honor his platoon and the chaos of his past. This tattoo serves as a reminder of the battles he fought and the scars he carries from his service.
Full Sleeve Tattoo (Left Arm, Chest to Wrist): Wally's full sleeve tattoo, inspired by Japanese motifs, features a coiling dragon symbolizing power, resilience, and protection. The dragon reflects his strength and fierce love for Jace, while flames and smoke represent his transformation. This tattoo portrays his personal journey from a young, uncertain father to a wiser individual, evolving through challenges, destruction, and renewal, highlighting his desire for growth, protection, and the strength to overcome.
Reluctant Social Media Presence: While Wally keeps a relatively low profile on social media, he has reluctantly embraced it due to the influence of his friends, especially Kuki and Hoagie. He uses it to stay connected, share updates on his work or hobbies, and occasionally post pictures of Jace. However, he’s not someone to overshare and prefers to keep his personal life mostly private, unlike Kuki, who’s more active online.
Hobby of Woodworking: In his downtime, Wally enjoys woodworking. He finds it therapeutic to work with his hands and create something from scratch. Whether it’s building furniture for his home or carving small wooden toys for Jace, woodworking gives Wally a sense of accomplishment and control. He’s surprisingly skilled at it and often takes pride in his creations, making functional yet beautiful items that he can use around the house.
Reaching Out to Kuki: Wally still reaches out to Kuki, even though he feels torn about it. Despite his hesitation, he doesn’t want to completely sever the bond they shared. He checks in on her occasionally, asking how she’s doing, making sure she’s happy, and offering support when needed. Kuki, however, insists that he should stay connected with her more often, urging him not to worry about getting in trouble. While Wally cares deeply for her, he’s afraid of making her life harder, so he tries to respect her space.
Strengthening Bonds with Joey and Oreo: Since returning from the military, Wally has prioritized reconnecting with his family, especially Joey. Realizing how much they’ve grown apart, he frequently reaches out through calls, texts, and visits. A meaningful gesture was giving Joey Oreo, Wally’s cat as a symbol of trust and love. Oreo’s presence helped deepen their bond, providing Joey comfort while strengthening their relationship, a lasting reminder of Wally’s commitment.
The Single One in the Group: Wally is the only single one in his friend group, and it often becomes a topic of conversation whenever they hang out. His friends, especially Kuki, constantly try to set him up with someone, believing it will help him move on or find happiness. However, these attempts rarely work out, either because Wally isn't ready for a relationship or because he just can't find someone who truly clicks with him.

Young Adult Nigel Uno/Numbuh 1
Appearance: Nigel stands at 5'5"ft, his lean but athletic build a testament to years of rigorous training and leadership. His iconic bald head remains unchanged, now giving him a more commanding and refined presence. His sharp facial features—high cheekbones, a strong jawline, and a slightly furrowed brow—add to his intense and calculating demeanor. His signature sunglasses have been upgraded to a sleeker, more high-tech design, seamlessly integrating with his tactical gear. Whether resting on the bridge of his nose or hanging from his coat pocket, they remain an unmistakable part of his identity. Nigel’s attire exudes cool professionalism, blending formality with a tactical edge. He wears a perfectly tailored long coat , either deep navy or charcoal gray, fitted yet flexible for movement. Underneath, a crisp button-up dress shirt , usually black or dark blue, remains neatly pressed, with the top button undone for a touch of effortless style. His slim-fit dress pants are subtly reinforced for durability, allowing him to move with precision when necessary. On his feet, sleek black dress boots complete the ensemble—polished enough for formal meetings yet rugged enough for action. A minimalist but highly advanced wristwatch rests on his left wrist, its seemingly simple design hiding encrypted communication functions. His belt, while appearing standard, contains hidden compartments for small tools or gadgets, always keeping him prepared.
Personality: As a young adult, Nigel Uno has grown into a composed and strategic thinker, retaining his unshakable determination while refining his once rigid, all-business approach. No longer affiliated with the KND, TND, or GKND, he operates independently, guided by pragmatism, discipline, and a strong moral compass, While still highly logical and tactical, he now values adaptability, assessing situations with patience rather than rushing into action. His quiet confidence and composure naturally draw people in, and though he is not overly talkative, his words are always measured, direct, and impactful, often laced with dry wit. Experience has tempered his idealism, teaching him that the world isn’t just black and white—he acknowledges the gray areas of conflict and decision-making, making him a more nuanced and perceptive individual. Though he keeps most people at a professional distance, those who earn his trust find a fiercely loyal and dependable ally. He respects competence and integrity, valuing actions over words. While no longer the idealistic child he once was, at his core, Nigel Uno remains a leader, a strategist, and a protector—one who now operates on his own terms.
Headcannons
Early Riser, Efficient Routine: Nigel is an early riser, beginning his day before sunrise with a disciplined routine. He starts with a cold shower to invigorate himself, followed by catching up on the news and a light workout to stay sharp. Efficiency is his mantra; he despises wasting time on trivial distractions. Every moment of his morning is meticulously planned, ensuring he’s prepared for whatever the day throws at him. This structured approach reflects his broader philosophy: time is a resource, and he intends to use it wisely.
Minimalist Living: Nigel’s living space is a testament to his minimalist mindset. His apartment—or wherever he stays—is impeccably tidy, with only the essentials in sight. He avoids sentimental clutter, believing it distracts from practicality. However, he does keep one well-preserved memento from his childhood, tucked away in a private spot. This single item serves as a quiet reminder of his roots, a rare concession to sentimentality in an otherwise no-nonsense lifestyle.
Unmatched Poker Face: Years of training and experience have honed Nigel’s ability to remain unreadable. His expressions rarely betray his emotions, making it nearly impossible for others to discern his thoughts. This skill is invaluable in high-stakes situations, where revealing too much could be a liability. However, those who know him well can detect subtle shifts in his demeanor, a testament to their deep understanding of his character.
Deep but Selective Loyalty: Nigel’s trust is hard to earn but unwavering once given. He values competence and integrity above all, and his closest allies are those who prove themselves through actions rather than words. His loyalty is not blind; it’s earned through mutual respect and shared values. Once someone has his trust, he will go to great lengths to protect and support them, making him a steadfast and reliable ally.
Reads People Instinctively: Nigel’s sharp observational skills allow him to read people with remarkable accuracy. He analyzes body language, tone, and subtle cues to gauge true intentions, making him a skilled negotiator and strategist. This ability to see beneath the surface enables him to stay several steps ahead in any interaction. Whether in a boardroom or a battlefield, Nigel’s insight into human behavior is a formidable asset.
Prefers Function Over Fashion, But Still Looks Cool: Nigel’s wardrobe is a blend of practicality and understated style. He favors tailored coats, dress shirts, and tactical wear in neutral or dark colors, all designed for mobility and ease of movement. While he prioritizes function over fashion, his refined choices give him a cool, composed appearance. His attire reflects his personality: simple, efficient, and always prepared.
Carries a Notebook Instead of Using a Phone for Planning: Despite being technologically adept, Nigel prefers to carry a notebook for planning and note-taking. He finds that writing things down helps him focus and organize his thoughts more effectively. His notebook is a repository of observations, strategies, and insights on people and places he encounters. This analog approach underscores his intentionality and attention to detail.
Understands the Necessity of Violence, But Doesn't Enjoy It: Nigel is a highly skilled fighter, but he views combat as a last resort. He prefers to resolve conflicts through logic and strategy rather than force. However, when violence is unavoidable, he is precise, efficient, and controlled, never acting recklessly. His approach to conflict reflects his broader philosophy: every action should have a purpose, and unnecessary risks are to be avoided.
Still Has a Sense of Humor, But It's Sharper and Drier: Though serious and composed, Nigel hasn’t lost his sense of humor. His wit is sharp and dry, often catching people off guard with perfectly timed remarks delivered with a straight face. This subtle humor adds depth to his character, revealing a lighter side that contrasts with his otherwise stoic demeanor.
Respected But Not Untouchable: Nigel is a respected leader, but his style has evolved over time. He now listens more, values input from his team, and delegates responsibilities rather than shouldering everything alone. His team sees him as a backbone but also recognizes his humanity. This balance of authority and approachability makes him an effective and admired leader.
The Older Brother Figure: Nigel naturally takes on the role of an older brother, especially with Wally and Hoagie. He keeps them in check but also relaxes around them, allowing himself to joke and be less serious. He nudges Wally toward maturity and respects Hoagie’s intellect, often engaging him in discussions about tactics and strategy. This dynamic highlights his protective yet nurturing nature.
Still Has High Standards, But More Understanding: Nigel expects competence and discipline but has grown more patient over time. He knows when to push and when to let go, helping others learn from their mistakes rather than simply reprimanding them. This evolution in his leadership style reflects a deeper understanding of human growth and the value of mentorship.
Protective, But Knows When to Step Back: While Nigel is protective of his friends, he no longer overprotects them as he did in his youth. He trusts them to handle their own challenges but remains watchful, ready to step in if necessary. This balance between support and independence strengthens his relationships and fosters mutual respect.
Can Switch From Warm to Dead Serious Instantly: Nigel’s demeanor can shift instantly from warm and relaxed to calm and calculated. With his friends, he’s open and witty, but when a situation turns serious, he becomes focused and composed. This ability to adapt his presence to the moment is both impressive and intimidating, showcasing his versatility as a leader.
Enjoys Solitude but Not Isolation: Nigel values alone time for reflection, journaling, or reading, but he no longer isolates himself emotionally. He chooses to be present with his friends, balancing his need for solitude with meaningful connections. This shift reflects his growth and willingness to embrace vulnerability.
Professor of Strategy and Tactics: Nigel takes his vast knowledge of warfare and leadership into academia, becoming a highly respected professor specializing in historic wars, battle strategies, and tactical warfare. His lectures are known for their depth, real-world applications, and intense yet engaging teaching style.
Tough but Fair Mentor: While Nigel has high expectations, he genuinely cares about his students' success. He challenges them to think critically, question traditional tactics, and develop their own strategic reasoning. Despite his stern demeanor, he takes time to mentor those who show potential, earning deep respect from his students.
Guest Lecturer and Consultant: His expertise makes him a sought-after speaker for military academies and strategic think tanks. While he prefers teaching, he occasionally consults on high-level tactical matters, providing insight into unconventional warfare.
Respected by All: Whether in the field or the classroom, Nigel commands respect. His presence alone demands attention, and his words carry weight. His students, peers, and old teammates know that if Nigel Uno speaks, it’s worth listening to.
Friday Night Tradition: Every two Fridays, Nigel and Wally have an unspoken agreement to meet up at a local bar for drinks. It started as a casual catch-up but quickly became a tradition—a way for them to unwind from their responsibilities and reminisce about their KND days. Wally, being more social, drags Nigel into conversations with strangers, while Nigel mostly listens, offering his occasional dry humor and strategic insights into whatever wild scenario Wally is ranting about. Though Nigel isn’t a heavy drinker, he enjoys the routine and the sense of normalcy it brings. It’s one of the few times he allows himself to truly relax, and despite his more serious nature, he appreciates the bond they share over these nights out.
Boys’ Night Regular: Despite his initial reluctance, Nigel has become a semi-regular at "Boys’ Night" with Wally, Hoagie, Patton, and occasionally other former KND operatives. At first, he wasn’t sure if it was his thing—he's not as loud or competitive as the rest of them—but over time, he found himself enjoying the camaraderie. Whether it’s game night, grilling out, or just hanging around talking about life, Nigel values these moments more than he admits. It gives him a chance to let his guard down, to not always be the responsible leader, and just enjoy being part of a group again. Even though Wally insists Nigel should “loosen up” more, the others appreciate his dry wit and surprising talent for strategy-based games. These nights remind Nigel that, no matter how much life changes, some friendships remain constant.
Office of Secrets: His office is a reflection of his past, filled with books, maps, and relics from historical battles. A few subtle nods to his childhood missions exist, though he never explicitly confirms their significance. His students often wonder if their professor has lived through the strategies he teache
Still Can’t Fully Relax, But He Tries: Nigel struggles to fully unwind, but his friends help him relax, whether it’s Hoagie dragging him into a movie night or Wally handing him a game controller. These moments of forced relaxation are a reminder that even the most disciplined individuals need downtime.
No Longer Sees the World in Black & White: As a younger man, Nigel viewed the world in stark terms of good versus evil. However, experience has taught him the value of nuance and the complexity of human nature. While this understanding has made him wiser, it has also burdened him with more difficult decisions. He now recognizes that not every situation has a clear-cut answer, and this awareness shapes his approach to leadership and life.
Still Has Moments of Doubt, But Hides Them Well: Despite his confident exterior, Nigel occasionally grapples with doubt. There are nights when he questions whether he’s making the right decisions or leading his team in the best direction. He hides these moments well, masking his uncertainty with composure, but they reveal the depth of his introspection and the weight of his responsibilities.
Has a ‘You Can Always Call Me’ Policy: No matter the time or how busy he is, Nigel makes it clear that his friends can always reach out to him. He might not always have the answers, but he’ll be there to listen, support, or offer guidance. This unwavering reliability is a cornerstone of his relationships, demonstrating his loyalty and commitment to those he cares about.
Prefers a Clean & Organized Space, But Knows When to Let Go: Nigel values a tidy and functional living space, but he’s not obsessive about it. He understands that messes can be a sign of life and fun, especially when his friends are around. While he prefers order, he knows when to let go and enjoy the moment, balancing his need for structure with the joy of spontaneity.
Still Eats Simple Foods Like Toast & Cereal When Rushed: Despite his growth and maturity, Nigel hasn’t outgrown his practical approach to meals. When he’s focused or in a hurry, he defaults to simple, quick foods like toast or cereal. This habit is a nod to his no-nonsense attitude and his ability to prioritize efficiency, even in the smallest aspects of life.
Has a Signature "Thinking Pose": Nigel has a distinctive way of showing he’s deep in thought, whether it’s crossing his arms, rubbing his chin, or tilting his head. His friends recognize this pose and know to give him space to process before speaking. This quiet moment of reflection is a hallmark of his thoughtful and deliberate nature.
Doesn’t Show Off, But Has a Quiet Confidence: Unlike some of his peers, Nigel doesn’t feel the need to flaunt his abilities. His confidence is understated but unmistakable, radiating through his calm demeanor and precise actions. People instinctively sense that he’s not someone to be underestimated, even without overt displays of strength or skill.
Can Still Be a Little Stubborn, But Has Learned to Listen: While Nigel can be stubborn, he’s grown to recognize the value of listening to others. He no longer insists on making every decision himself and has learned to trust the input of his team. This evolution in his leadership style reflects his maturity and his understanding that collaboration often leads to better outcomes.
Understands Wally: Nigel and Wally share a bond that often transcends words. A simple nod, glance, or pat on the back is enough to convey trust, loyalty, and mutual respect. This silent understanding is a testament to the depth of their friendship and the years of shared experiences that have solidified their connection.
Still Struggles to Open Up About Himself: While Nigel is an excellent listener and advisor, he finds it difficult to open up about his own struggles. Only a select few people get to see this vulnerable side of him, as he prefers to keep his emotions guarded. This reluctance to share reflects his deeply private nature and the weight he carries as a leader.
No Longer Feels the Need to Prove Himself: As a younger leader, Nigel often felt the need to prove his worth and capabilities. Now, he’s confident enough to let his actions speak for themselves. This shift in mindset has allowed him to lead with greater authenticity and focus on what truly matters, rather than seeking validation from others.
Understands That Not Everything Can Be Fixed: Nigel has come to terms with the fact that not every problem has a solution. While he still strives to resolve issues whenever possible, he recognizes that some things must be accepted and moved on from. This acceptance has brought him a sense of peace and resilience, even in the face of challenges.
Never Lets His Guard Down Completely: Even in moments of relaxation, Nigel maintains a level of awareness. Years of leadership and high-stakes situations have ingrained in him a habit of always being prepared. While he’s learned to relax more than he used to, he’s never fully off-duty, a testament to his unwavering sense of responsibility.
Has a Quiet Pride in His Team: While Nigel isn’t one for grand gestures or effusive praise, he takes quiet pride in his team’s accomplishments. He shows his appreciation through small, meaningful actions, like a nod of approval or a rare compliment. His team knows that his quiet pride is hard-earned and deeply genuine.
Rarely Takes a Day Off, But Should: Nigel’s work ethic is unmatched, and he rarely takes a full day off. Even on supposed rest days, he’s often found reviewing plans, reading, or engaging in light training. His friends occasionally have to intervene, reminding him that even the most dedicated leaders need to recharge. While he acknowledges their point, stepping away completely still feels unnatural to him.
Has a Soft Spot for Animals: Despite his tough exterior, Nigel has a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. He admires their loyalty and straightforward nature, qualities he values in people as well. If he ever has a pet, it’s likely a well-trained, no-nonsense breed that matches his personality. This unexpected tenderness adds depth to his character, showing that even the most disciplined individuals have their softer side.
Still Dreams Big, But Grounded in Reality: While Nigel has matured and become more pragmatic, he hasn’t lost his ability to dream big. He balances his ambitions with a clear-eyed understanding of what’s achievable, setting goals that are challenging yet realistic. This blend of vision and practicality makes him a formidable leader and a steady presence in any situation.

Teenage! Wallabee Beetles/Numbuh 4
Appearance: Wally is 5'1 " with a strong upper body and an athletic build from years of activity and training. His skin is covered in light freckles, mostly noticeable on his arms and legs, adding a youthful touch. His messy blonde hair is longer in the back, giving him a mullet-like bowl cut. He has a diagonal scar on the left side of his lip and noticeable scars across his upper torso from past fights. Wally’s style is casual but bold: he wears a black band shirt under an orange zip-up hoodie, cuffed jeans with silver chains on the right side, and white sneakers. On his left arm, he wears a white sweatband, and he’s got a few silver earrings—a hoop in his right ear, a ball stud and a double helix earring in his left. He also wears a magnetic half-heart necklace with a sparkling green center, though he keeps it hidden under his shirt.
Personality: As a teenager, Wally has matured into a more cautious and strategic version of his younger self while still retaining his fiery and impulsive nature. The loss of his mother and the responsibility of helping care for his younger brother have forced him to grow up quickly, making him more serious and aware of the consequences of his actions. However, his temper hasn’t faded—it’s just sharpened. Wally has learned to pick his battles, but when pushed, he’s just as explosive as ever. Now working with the Teenage Ninjas and maintaining a morally gray alliance with Father, Kree, and the Delightful Children from Down the Lane, he constantly walks a fine line between playing along and rebelling in his own way. He despises much of what they stand for but remains involved, believing he can make a difference from within while protecting those he cares about. Smarter and more strategic than before, Wally struggles to manage his emotions, often resorting to sarcasm, passive-aggressive jabs, or reckless actions when overwhelmed. His competitive streak remains as strong as ever—he hates losing and will stubbornly push himself past his limits rather than admit defeat. While he’s learned to value teamwork, he still struggles with taking orders and often challenges authority, whether it’s Father or his own allies. Beneath his tough exterior, Wally remains fiercely loyal and deeply protective. Even if he pretends not to care, his actions always betray him. He doesn’t always know if he’s on the right path, but one thing is certain—he won’t let anyone decide his fate for him.
Headcanons
Short King Energy: Wally may not be the tallest guy around, but he's got that undeniable "short king" confidence. Standing at a height that could be considered average at best, he proves every day that it's not about size—it's about how much you own your presence. His swagger, boldness, and unwavering self-assurance always draw attention, making him stand out in any crowd. Wally's got big energy in a small package.
Soccer Star: (inspire by @beetles-sanban) Wally is a force to be reckoned with on the soccer field, dominating as a striker for his school team. Despite being banned from American football due to his aggressive playing style, his reputation as a fierce competitor grows in soccer. He knows how to push limits and isn’t afraid to challenge authority to prove he’s a legend in the making. Wally's energy and passion never go unnoticed on the pitch.
Martial Arts Master: Wally is a dedicated member of the Martial Arts Club, training in boxing, Tae Kwon Do, and Jujitsu. These intense disciplines keep him physically sharp and mentally focused, enabling him to stay ahead of any challenge life throws at him. While he’s known for his spontaneous nature, his martial arts training teaches him discipline, patience, and control. Wally's always ready for anything, thanks to his martial arts skills.
Detention Regular: Wally has practically made detention his second home. Whether it’s mouthing off to teachers, mischief in the classroom, or his explosive science experiments gone wrong, trouble seems to follow him. He can’t seem to stay out of trouble, but he’s learned to embrace it with a grin. Detention is a place where Wally can hang out with his friends and just enjoy being himself, even if it means staying a little longer than expected.
Average C Student: Thanks to Abby's endless patience and tutoring, Wally barely manages to scrape by with average grades. He’s never at the top of the class, but he does just enough to pass without making the honor roll. Despite his lack of academic focus, Wally’s got a clever mind that’s more interested in practical knowledge than book smarts. His schoolwork may be sloppy, but with Abby’s help, he still gets by.
Biology Whiz (Sort Of): Wally surprisingly shines in biology, largely because of Kuki’s ability to explain things in ways that make sense to him. While biology isn’t his natural forte, Kuki's unique approach helps him understand the subject better than most. It’s not that Wally’s a genius in the field, but her explanations make the complex concepts feel less intimidating. With Kuki's help, Wally can actually get by and even impress in biology class.
Last-Minute Cramming King: Wally has perfected the art of last-minute cramming. Known for his procrastination skills, he always waits until the night before a test to study. Somehow, he pulls it off every time—barely passing, but passing nonetheless. His frantic energy and ability to memorize just enough material at the last second make him an expert at cramming. Though it’s never ideal, Wally's unconventional studying techniques always manage to get him through the exam.
Class Clown Energy: When Wally teams up with Hoagie, the classroom transforms into their personal comedy show. They’re a constant source of chaos, and teachers dread having them seated together. Whether it’s a prank, witty one-liner, or making faces during class, their dynamic creates pure mayhem. Wally thrives in the spotlight, making everyone laugh, and even though their antics often get them in trouble, his ability to lighten any situation is undeniable.
Skateboard Everywhere: Wally doesn’t walk anywhere if he doesn’t have to. His trusty skateboard is always by his side, and he’s known for pulling off impressive tricks while zooming around town. Whether he's racing down the street or casually cruising through the halls, his skateboard is his preferred mode of transport. Wally’s fluid movements and easy confidence on his board have made him a local legend, and he’s never far from the action.
Teenage Ninja: Wally may be reluctantly working for Father, the Delightful Children from Down the Lane, and Cree, but deep down, he’s plotting his escape. As part of this unlikely alliance, he’s forced to complete tasks for them, but his loyalty to their cause is questionable at best. Wally is determined to break free from Father’s control and is biding his time, looking for a way out. Even under duress, he holds onto hope for freedom.
Driving License Saga: Wally is the last of his friends to get his driver's license, not because he can't drive, but because he refuses to follow the rules. The very idea of adhering to adults’ directions doesn’t sit well with him. He’s all about doing things his way and refuses to take the normal route when it comes to gaining privileges. His refusal to play by the rules makes him a late bloomer, but that won’t stop him from getting that license.
Bisexual Disaster: Wally's awkwardness knows no bounds when someone he finds attractive compliments him, regardless of gender. His face turns bright red, and he stammers through a series of fiery denials, trying to hide his embarrassment. Wally’s charming yet disastrous responses are as strong as his blush. His feelings may be clear to others, but his reactions make him anything but smooth. Wally’s bisexuality only adds to his ever-growing collection of awkward moments.
Reputation of Steel: Wally’s loyalty is unwavering, and his reputation as "The Nose Breaker" has earned him respect. He’s notorious for his protective nature, especially when it comes to his friends. If anyone messes with his people, they’ll have to face the consequences. The infamous incident where Wally broke a jock's nose for mocking Hoagie only solidified his status as someone not to be crossed—especially when it comes to loyalty.
Rock Band Guitarist: Wally plays lead guitar in a rock band, and his stage presence is undeniably electric. His passion for music comes through in every performance, and while his bandmates wish he would stop leaping off amps mid-song, they know Wally’s energy is what makes the show unforgettable. The crowd loves him for his raw enthusiasm, and his antics—while chaotic—always add to the band's legendary performances.
Bromance with Hoagie: Wally and Hoagie share an unbreakable bromance. Their bond is legendary, built on years of shared experiences and mutual support. No matter what happens, they’re always there for each other—no questions asked. Wally might be head-over-heels for Kuki, but his friendship with Hoagie is one of the closest relationships he has. If not for Kuki, it’s likely their bromance would’ve evolved into something even deeper.
Relationship Enigma: Wally and Kuki's relationship is a confusing mystery to everyone around them. They're not officially a couple, but their actions say otherwise. Kuki's affectionate gestures and Wally's nonchalant acceptance leave their friends constantly guessing what's really going on. Their dynamic is unpredictable—sometimes it's flirtatious, sometimes it's purely platonic—but it's clear that there’s something deeper between them, even if they haven’t labeled it yet.
Learning to Swim: Wally never knew how to swim until Hoagie stepped in to teach him during their preteen years. Hoagie’s patience and determination paid off, and Wally became a solid swimmer. He may never openly admit it, but the truth is that it was Hoagie’s lessons that helped him conquer his fear of the water. Now, Wally’s a competent swimmer, though he still tries to downplay how much Hoagie helped him.
Selective Affection: Wally is far from the affectionate type, but when he trusts someone, his soft side emerges. He’s usually reserved, keeping his emotions close to the chest. However, with people like Abby, Kuki, and Hoagie, his vulnerability shows. He lets them invade his personal space and gives them hugs that only a select few get to experience. It’s a rare and special side of Wally, reserved for those he holds dear.
Surprisingly Good Cook: Despite his tough exterior, Wally’s a surprisingly good cook. He doesn’t make fancy dishes, but he knows how to feed people, especially after years of babysitting Joey. Late nights spent cooking simple meals for his brother helped Wally develop his culinary skills. Now, he’s the one ensuring his friends don’t go hungry, even if it’s just a quick meal. His cooking may be simple, but it’s always made with care.
Bad at Texting: Wally’s texting skills are decent, but don’t expect a speedy response. He’s not big on texting, and if your message isn’t urgent, it could sit in his inbox for weeks before he gets around to replying. He’s usually so distracted by other things—like his band or his skateboard—that his texts take a backseat. By the time he responds, you’ve probably forgotten you even sent a message in the first place.
Stress Smoker: Wally’s stress smoking habit started during late-night jam sessions with his band. While he’s cut back thanks to Hoagie and Abby’s efforts, he still smokes when the pressure builds up. The weight of school, his band, and his work for Father often gets to him, and smoking is his way of coping with it. Though his friends worry about him, Wally insists he’s got it under control—even if he doesn't quite believe it himself.
Energy Drink Junkie: Wally is addicted to energy drinks, particularly Monster. It's not uncommon to see him with a can in one hand while riding his skateboard in the other. His need for constant energy drives his habit, even if it worries his friends. He’s always buzzing with the high from his drinks, but his addiction is a source of concern for those who care about him. Wally can’t seem to shake his constant need for a quick boost.
Big Brother Vibes: Wally is fiercely protective of his little brother, Joey. He walks him to school, gives him advice, and steps in whenever anyone dares mess with Joey. Wally’s got that "mama bear" energy when it comes to his sibling, ensuring that no harm comes to him. He may not be the warmest person with others, but when it comes to Joey, Wally’s a loving, protective older brother who will do anything to keep him safe.
Sleepless Struggles: Wally struggles with insomnia, overwhelmed by the stresses of school, his band, and working for Father. He’s developed a habit of using sleeping pills to help him sleep, much to his friends’ concern. Though Wally insists that he’s in control, his lack of rest is taking a toll on him. His friends worry about his health, but Wally brushes it off, pretending like it’s just another thing he can handle—until it becomes too much.
No Nickname Policy: Wally isn’t a fan of nicknames and prefers to stick to the basics. He’s the one who started calling Kuki "Kooks," which led to her retaliating by calling him "Wally-Boy." When he’s feeling affectionate, he calls Hoagie "Mr. Brainiac." While he doesn’t dish out nicknames freely, he’s not above using them for fun—especially when he’s in a playful mood with his closest friends. Wally’s policy is simple: no nicknames unless they’ve earned it.
Permission to Swear: Wally’s Australian roots give him a foul-mouthed reputation, with a swear for every situation. Though he can keep it under control around friends, he asks, “permission to cuss?” much to Nigel's dismay. When frustrated or amused, Wally’s colorful language flows freely, but he’s always considerate enough to get the green light before he lets it rip—making his rare swearing moments even funnier.
Unexpected Animal Lover: After a run-in with the law, Wally’s community service at an animal shelter was meant to be a quick fix. Initially dreading it, Wally’s views shifted the moment he bonded with a kitten named Oreo. The little black-and-white furball captured his heart, and he ended up adopting her. Now, his soft spot for animals is well-known, and Oreo’s influence is undeniable—his rough exterior hides a soft center.
Support Specialist: Wally’s not just the tough guy; he’s always the first to help his friends. Whether he’s fixing props for Kuki’s theater, lending a hand with Hoagie’s inventions, or supporting Abby in her dance videos, Wally’s presence is invaluable. His “support” role may not always be glamorous, but his dedication is unmatched. Whenever anyone needs assistance, Wally’s the go-to guy, willing to help out without hesitation.
Surprisingly Smooth: Despite his tough exterior, Wally’s got some unexpected moves. On the dance floor, he’s surprisingly smooth, channeling a bold energy that rivals even Abby. His high-energy style matches his fiery persona, and his fearless attitude ensures that he always steals the spotlight at parties. No one expects it, but Wally’s unshakable confidence makes him a natural performer, whether he’s busting moves or impressing the crowd with his swagger.
Confidence Unleashed: As Wally grows older, his confidence only intensifies. With more experience and maturity, he’s ready to take on the world, assertively standing his ground in any situation. Wally’s fearless attitude means he’s willing to bend the rules and challenge authority when necessary. He’s learned to trust his instincts, which are now sharper than ever. Whether in relationships or facing difficult decisions, Wally confidently makes his mark and stays true to himself.
Comically Dense: Wally’s oblivious nature is both frustrating and hilarious. Subtle hints go straight over his head, and it often takes someone explicitly spelling it out for him to understand. Case in point: it took years for Wally to realize he and Kuki were practically dating. In a quiet, affectionate moment, the realization finally hits. His comically dense nature may cause confusion, but it adds a touch of endearing charm to his character.
Low-Key Artist: Beneath Wally’s tough guy persona, there’s a hidden talent. He’s an unassuming artist, quietly sketching band logos, cars, and abstract doodles in his notebook. Though he’d never brag about it, Wally’s surprisingly skilled at drawing. His love for art is a personal escape, a way to channel his creativity away from the chaos of his life. No one knows about this side of him unless they happen to catch a glimpse of his private sketches.
Unintentionally Heartthrob: (inspire by @beetles-sanban) Wally’s rugged looks and natural confidence make him seem like a heartthrob without even trying. He attracts attention effortlessly with his "bad boy" aura, leaving a trail of admirers who can’t help but be drawn to him. But once he opens his mouth, all that charm fades. His blunt, casual way of speaking instantly kills any mystery, and those who once swooned find themselves questioning their attraction.
Surprisingly Good Singer: Wally may not seem like the type, but he has an incredible singing voice. Whether it’s belting out ballads with his band or humming Kuki’s favorite tunes, Wally surprises everyone with his raw, emotional vocals. Despite his talent, he’s too shy to sing solo in front of an audience. Still, those close to him are treated to his soulful voice in private moments, proving there’s more to Wally than meets the eye.
Sum 41 Superfan: Wally’s love for Sum 41 runs deep. Their energetic punk rock music perfectly matches his high-adrenaline lifestyle, and he can often be found blasting their songs while skateboarding or jamming with his band. Wally’s commitment to the band goes beyond casual fandom—he knows every lyric by heart and channels their rebellious energy into his own performances. Sum 41’s music fuels his passion for life, making them a constant presence in his world.
Wolverine Enthusiast: Wally is obsessed with Wolverine, the tough and resilient mutant. His admiration for the character is evident in his room, which is filled with Wolverine posters. Wally frequently quotes the character’s lines or mimics Wolverine’s signature growl, especially during moments of tension. On Halloween, he even dressed up as Wolverine, complete with homemade claws, much to the delight of his friends. His enthusiasm for the character is a defining trait of his personality.
Triple Threat of Sports: Wally’s not just about skating; he’s a master at all three “S’s.” Whether he’s carving through snow on his snowboard, pulling off tricks at the skatepark, or riding waves on his surfboard, Wally excels at them all. His passion for adrenaline sports knows no bounds, and each board feels like an extension of himself. His fluid, effortless movements leave others in awe, solidifying his reputation as a versatile athlete with unrivaled skill.
Fidgety Teenage Energy: As a teenager, Wally’s energy is boundless, making it impossible for him to sit still for long. During meetings, class, or just waiting around, his restless energy manifests in bouncing legs or rhythmic finger tapping. His body constantly needs to move, and if it’s forced to be still, it becomes evident. Wally tries to hide it, but his fidgeting is a clear sign of his overstimulated mind and the constant energy brewing beneath the surface.
Self-Taught Sign Language:(inspired by @kommandonuovidiavoli) Wally’s bond with his brother Joey runs deep, and he learned sign language to communicate better with him, especially since Joey sometimes struggles with anxiety. Though difficult at first, Wally’s determination paid off, and he’s now fluent enough to sign with Joey when words aren’t enough. This skill means the world to Wally, showing just how far he’s willing to go for Joey’s comfort. It’s a quiet act of love that defines their relationship.
Late Bloomer: Wally’s growth was always slow. He never experienced any sudden bursts of height like his friends, and it wasn’t until his late teens that he began to grow, but even then, it was barely noticeable. One week, he’d realize his clothes felt a bit snug, or he could reach a shelf he couldn’t before, but it was so gradual that he almost didn’t notice it at all. Despite the slow pace, Wally took pride in his growth, even if it didn’t seem like much to anyone else.
