Bit late but this is my first contribution to the Draw Prongsfoot Badly Challenge:

I would like to point out that James is NOT taller than Sirius. Sirius is just leaning backwards against him and they are sitting and I am horrible at perspective!

It's not just Remus who's tired after a full moon.
Professor McGonagall pretends she doesn't see them holding hands under the table.

Okay, I’m obsessed with this and all the descriptions of bravery, especially Peter’s
Sometimes Sirius worried the hat got it wrong. Sorting him into Gryffindor.
He would watch Peter stumble through an explanation in class, stuttering his every word, speaking so softly, but getting it right, and he would think, that’s bravery.
Or he would watch Remus, preparing for another full moon, shoulders tensed but still laughing at a stupid joke, still doing his homework, still trying, and he would think, that’s bravery.
Or Marlene, standing to older students, Slytherin assholes, and never backing down. Always punching first, standing proud, and he would think, that’s bravery.
And Lily, standing up to her own housemates and protecting the weasel that was Snivelous. Even that was bravery.
Not even mentioning James. James who questioned teachers without a thought. Who flew around the grounds at heights and speeds unheard of. Who always stared professors in the eye when getting in trouble. Who pushed back when his own parents forbade things. Who was loud and brash and happy and brave brave brave.
Gryffindor was full of small braveries and big braveries. Hidden and open and lauded and ignored. Full of teenagers riding the line of bravery and stupidity with a breezy ease that had been familiar to Sirius, until now.
He’d always thought he was brave. Had spent most of his Hogwarts career not questioning it. After all, anything James had done, Sirius had too. Admittedly, not the flying as fast or as high but he came close. Someone had to help James train, after all.
And he looked professors in the eye, fought against them when they were wrong, stood up for younger students and bullied idiot Slytherins.
He’d even looked the giant squid in the eye and winked. He went into the forbidden forest weekly.
He’d never thought himself a coward.
At least, not until he’d recognized the feeling bubbling in his stomach as he sat in the clock tower staring down at students in the courtyard.
Staring down at one student, in particular.
Staring down at James.
