A Travel Mart was also organized wherein most of the states, tour operators, hotels and resorts exhibited. This provided them a good platform to showcase their products and have interaction between buyers and supplier. This was a grand success as the following state governments participated namely: Kerala, Andaman, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand besides Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. This was very well organized by Mr. Arun Anand, Mr. Lajpat Rai and Mr. Ravi Gosain.

In line with its ‘Incredible India’ campaign, the Ministry of Tourism also launched an educative campaign named 'Atithidevo Bhava' in the year 2008. Endorsed by famous actor Amir Khan, the campaign aimed at acquainting common people with the right behaviour and etiquette when it comes to dealing with foreign tourists.

While our Ministry is making all its efforts to promote international tourist arrivals to India by organizing Road shows in overseas countries, FAM Trips for the Overseas Tour Operators and Travel Media, Global Marketing Campaigns etc., but due to negative image being created by the leading travel media/press, all the efforts being made by our Ministry and the Stakeholders are going into vain.
