I feel like Mafuyu and Mizuki are Very Good Caregivers for each other... I think they've both been regressing for a while, long before they knew there was a name for it. And thus, that their earlier experiences with it were spent lonely and bewildered by the weird fuzziness in their brains. This is apparent in the way they care for little ones... I don't know if they realize it about themselves (though they definitely do notice it about the other), but they treat babies the way they'd have liked their former selves to be treated. There's a lot of focus on how the little one isn't alone...

Mizuki shows it through direction, always suggesting activities or guiding the baby through self-care. She has far too many memories of rotting in bed, too sad and choice-paralyzed to get herself to do anything, so a lot of her caregiving is Preventing That. Mafuyu, meanwhile, is big on physical touch. It's warm, it's grounding, something their former self desperately needed during sleepless nights spent dissociating

I think that sort of "you're not alone anymore" message they send with their actions is very appreciated by the other. Thank you for coming to my ted talk

During the colder part of the year, one of Mizuki's favorite things to do is LOUDLY demand "I wan' hot choccy!!" while banging on the nearest surface. This continues with increasing urgency for the entire time that it takes her CG to make it for her, and is promptly followed by her quietly and politely waiting 10 minutes for it to cool down to just-above-room-temperature.

i could see sancho having a pretty wide regression range tbh! generally speaking, she falls into the 6-8 range, but if she's stressed or upset about something she falls closer to 4 or 5, maybe even smaller.

her primary caregiver is well, her father! i could even see la manchaland's don quixote being the one to introduce her to regression, knowing that his kindred didn't have the best childhood he'd want to have nicey times with her :) she usually still refers to him as 'father' but if she's smaller she might call him 'papá' i think

bari also looks after her!! i imagine as sancho becomes more interested in the stories bari shares with her father the more she slips into headspace around her... she's like a cool big sister to her

i can imagine the other manchegan bloodfiends looking after her from time to time, which she has... mixed feelings about. i do also hc them all as regressors as well, and while she doesn't play with dulcinea or nicolina much i feel like she could have a nice time parallel playing with curiambro. they could read together!

generally, i think sancho prefers doing quiet activities by herself. reading, doing puzzles, making up little stories with her toys... that sort of thing. that's not to say she doesn't also love going on silly play pretend adventures with people, no matter how much she pretends she doesn't.

while she's usually too big for a pacifier, she's a huuuge chewer. you know that she's chewing on that boa when she's nervous and it's a big signal to the others that she's about to drop.

i thiiink she's pretty prone to tears, especially if she's on the smaller end of her range. she's not typically a very loud crier but expect lots of teary eyes, lip trembles, gentle whines... holds her so gently

haaates being treated like a baby but also will sometimes get scared / anxious and cling to her father, if she can.

i've been mostly thinking about her with her family/bari but her on the bus is interesting to think about... her regressing after canto 7 and being herself and not keeping up with the don persona (if that makes sense idk)... being sad about her family and feeling weird about the other sinners... oughhh

she doesn't throw fits very easily but she can deff get grumpy if she's sleepy / hungry / annoyed. sometimes she'll protest a nap (especially if she's feeling more like a bigger kid) but she's usually okay with them.

for sure she has a plushie she's really attached to, maybe a teddy bear or a little horse like rocinante? she takes it everywhere with her when she's small and will sometimes communicate through it if she doesn't wanna tell someone something directly. sad thought but i'd imagine that plushie was the only thing she was able to take with her when she went with bari :(

i'm not 100% on it but i coulddd see her being a pet regressor too? maybe it's all the fanart where her boa is treated like a tail. she's like a little wet puppy to me

generally, he's a very gentle cg. calm and patient, especially with the littlest of guys. he's generally very relaxed and tries to give his regressors the space to have big emotions and explore new stuff

that being said, he might get overwhelmed when working with super energetic regressors. he'll try his best to keep up with them, but generally prefers doing quiet activities. he'll sit and read with a regressor or watch snow out the window...

he's quite good at calming little guys down when they're upset. gently asks if he can touch them, puts his hand on their shoulder as he gently shushes them.. he's Kind

i also feel like he's naturally very good at just going along with Little Guy Shenanigans. if a regressor says something silly/unbelievable he'll widen his eyes in surprise and be like "oh yeah? and then what happened?" generally, he's good at committing to the bit.

he's likely somewhat uncomfortable with being referred to with any parental titles (for hermann-related reasons), but likes when little guys give him silly nicknames. might be slightly annoyed if said nicknames become bug-related, but he's a good sport

in terms of guys i think he'd take care of in canon... i'd like to think sinclair would hang around him a lot. could see ishmael and yi sang sticking close to him as well! and... sadly looks into the distance... yuri :( we could have had it all (big brother cg gregor and little sister regressor yuri)

i'm a big rodigor fan so i could see gregor and rodya working as a pair as caregivers... gregor constantly having to backtrack when rodya tells a guy they can make glitter crafts or have a cookie before dinner ndjsjsn

he'd let little guys play with his hair i think. he has that energy

Tbh, I personally lump Don in with the babysitters of the bus, but I'm not gonna put down other's headcanons bc they're not my cup of tea. But more power to 'em!
